I really went overboard to stay warm and it paid off. Layer upon layer, hand and toe warmers stuck all over my body. Plus I don't think it ever got as cold as they predicted. My car said 12 degrees when I parked and it was 9 when I left. The lack of wind really helped. Being surrounded by happy people created a nice warm glow. Unfortunately my buddy had a rough time, the cold air impacted his breathing.

Building a roof that only hangs over the stands is just as tricky as building a complete roof. Maybe more so. It's not the square footage of the cover, it's how you hold it up and what stresses it has to deal with.

But the debate here is weather football was meant to be played in the dead of winter. Originally it wasn't. It took the pro game and it's pursuit of the mighty $$$ to make it happen. So it's definitely played in the ice and cold, but wasn't necessarily mean to be played in that.

I can't be 100% certain. But the fact ticket prices crashed is partly due to Pats fans not travelling to this game. Maybe the cheap prices convinced a few to go. We'll see.
