    Another great story line: DC HC Shannon Harris was made interim HC after original DC HC Reggie Barlow left one week before the season to become HC of Tennessee State. Harris goes 6-4. wins UFL coach of the year, and wins a title.

    Shannon (The Hockey Guy) Explains the whole Atlanta saga. The NHL philosophy with expansion is growing the game. Houston, Atlanta, Phoenix grows the footprint. Hartford and Quebec City does not. Those are already hockey cities.

    First, Atlanta is a massive market. The NHL wants to be there. Second, lack of fan support wasn't the problem for the Thrashers, it was having to share the Omni with the Hawks. This time the team will play in the northern suburbs in their own building.

    I'll bet the next expansion round is Houston and Atlanta. Houston can use the Toyota Center for now but will have to build something new. Atlanta group has a plan for an arena north of Atlanta, in Forsyth County.

    Just for comparison: In the 2024 UFL season, over 77 UFL players signed with NFL teams, representing more than 19% of the players who participated in the UFL season. The UFL had 400 players in the 2024 season. Additionally, the UFL announced that 21 UFL players are currently on NFL rosters. How bad can UFL players be if almost 20% get NFL camp invites?
