Yeah that's a great strategy: Trade the heart and soul of the team away for peanuts, deplete your running back depth and give up one of the best short yardage, pass blocking, assignment-sound RB's in the NFL. Why do these threads suck me in when I know they're started by casual fans just trying to make a splash? Next you should write about how we're cutting Dareus.......

Did Carrington tip Feely's miss?
Webster Guy replied to SageAgainstTheMachine's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was the one who knocked Kolb out of the game too. Skelton came in and was 2 for 10 with the big INT. -
Kyle Williams on the Offensive Line???
Webster Guy replied to DUFF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He was playing the H-back spot. I was surprised Tasker missed it, nobody made mention of it. Personally I love the idea of giving the defenders a shot at hammering somebody, which he did, although it didn't affect the play much. I would not want 95 aiming for my head man...... -
What's wrong with Chan Gailey
Webster Guy replied to BillsFan130's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't put 8 in the box against the spread offense in wildcat formation. On that Brad Smith pick there were three WR's plus Fitz outside makes 4 and the FS makes 5 in coverage, 6 upfront. That's getting way too cute Chan. I watched the same thing happen with the Jets last week, Sparano completely ruining the offensive momentum with overcoaching, unnecessarily complex changes and time outs. These NFL coaches need to know when to just let their guys play the game, and call what's been working a little more. Every play doesn't have to be a surprise to the defense in order for it to work. Rely on execution more......... -
I'm wondering how much worse Tarvaris Jackson would be for us at QB. If he's equal to Fitz, I'd rather see us try the guy. Are we running anything so complex that he can't step in and run the offense? Fitz is missing badly on almost half of his throws, its getting ridiculous. Coach Lee and his mechanics improvement approach may have actually made him worse. I don't expect Chan to make any changes, but there are some coaches in this league that would have benched the Fitz by now. Please don't give me the "well Fitz is third in the NFL for td passes this year" The guy has really taken a downhill turn, absolutely no touch on the ball at all. If he keeps this up in the first half of the titans game, I would sit him and try Tarvaris.

as big as Mario, long arms and good motor. solid rotational guy, needs to keep getting experience like he did today. Titans O line looked solid against Pitt, so we'll see how he does next week at home with the crowd on his side. Should be fun to watch
-
No kidding. Chan did everything he could to give that game away. He is such a great game coach when Fitz is playing well, but he gets stubborn and has way too much confidence in Fitz even after the guy throws crappy balls all day. That wide open miss of Freddie at the end was Chan's fault as much as Fitz. We never should have called a single pass play once we got to the 35. its like Chan thinks a light is going to come on and Fitz will magically be accurate.

I'm excited to have Kelsay starting again!
Webster Guy replied to DisplacedBillsFan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We'll see some Kyle Moore as well in the DE rotation. He's a big dude with quickness. Hey look we set an NFL all-time record for 300 yards rush 300 yards passing allowed last week. All time. History of the NFL. Against an average offense. We should've had Bradham and Searcy and Moore and Delano Howell out there last week after the New England blowup. If we're going to not stop anyone, what do we have to lose except finding some talent on our own roster. I just wanna see us make some freakin plays. -
Nominate me, the Webster Guy (which is actually me and my brother Jeff). As President/CEO and GM we promise the following: 1. Beer sales START at halftime. Lord knows the second half is when your headache starts and our team gets out-adjusted. 2. Artificial snow for every game. 3. Prime seating for all Two Bills Drive Posters that haven't told me I'm an idiot on the message board (that leaves two of you) 4. Awesome kids section that allows a halftime race on the field. 5. No more fat security guards obstructing your view, hot chicks with tasers now keep the peace. 6. Every kickoff gets returned or the guy gets cut. (hey if we're gonna give up 50 points a game lets take some risks people) 7. No Celino and Barnes ads. Ever. The only low-lifes we promote are Canadian Beer Brewers. 8. Strictly Rush music over the loud speakers. With condolences and respect to Ozzy, Queen and AC/DC 9. We rename the Stadium to something other than the owners name. (cheesy) Something cool like Lakeside Park or Orchard Park Stadium. Sorry but naming rights are gay. (Lucas Oil? Really? I hope that check was worth it....) 10. More reverses, flea flickers, fake punts and FG's, blitzes, bombs, big beers, fireworks, free hot pretzels for kids, tv's in the bathrooms, and full video access to our draft room, scouting reports, and all discussions made on draft day available free on streaming video from the website on the day after the draft. Vote Webster Guy for Bills Dictator..............

Maybe he is doing a good job, I don't know or care unless he helps the team succeed, which we don't seem to be doing. Playing Seattle in Toronto instead of Orchard Park doesn't seem like it helps the team, I think it hurts us. I do know that he's the worst interview ever. Never says anything of substance, total corporate lingo, avoids every tough question. My favorite Russ reply was after Schopp asked him who makes the final decision in the draft "Well we have a committee for that, but Buddy has complete autonomy" Okay that clears it up dude. Perfect. Thanks Russ. "our last two performances have been unacceptable" Really? Because we all thought that setting ALL TIME NFL records for worst defensive performance ever was perfectly fine.

Will George Wilson be benched for Searcy?
Webster Guy replied to ny33's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not sure what happened to 37. It must be an injury because I swear he was going to make the pro bowl last year. Do you guys remember those dominant games he was having? Announcers who didn't even know who he was raving about him, covering sideline to sideline, hitting, disrupting, solid in coverage. There is no question he needs to take a game off. I disagree that Searcy "looked soft", and think he can't be any worse than Lonesome George. The thing I can't understand is that some of his breakdowns this year have been mental and not just a guy shaking off rust from an injury. Either way, he needs to be benched. Lets see what we have in Searcy. The guy is a great hitter if nothing else. -
When we have the box stacked to stop the run and still get run over anyway, it's not the coaches fault. You can't scheme against the run, you line up and stop it or you don't. I hate to say this but I think all of our DE's are weak to fair players at best, and our linebackers (aside from Barnett) fall in that same category. Even George Wilson is stinking up the SS spot. Maybe we're giving up 50 points a game because we don't have the talent to play good defense. On the other hand, watching Wade run that aggressive Texans defense makes me think maybe Wanny is inept and should be let go. We can't change our personnel right now, so I think they might just stick with Wanny and wait for the team to catch up to the rest of the league. We need to beat Zona and get some confidence back.

The Tarvaris Jackson Trade - huh?
Webster Guy replied to Beebes Bubble's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Dude threw for over 3000 yards last year, we needed someone that is an actual QB (not Brad) for that spot. $1.75M is reasonable, and 7th round picks are a joke. Would you rather Ralph just keep the money to add to the stack he'll never spend? -
How's Aaron Maybin been doing?
Webster Guy replied to Wayne Fontes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah you mean the steroid con-man that held out his ENTIRE rookie training camp for more money? Orakpo was in camp on time for less money working with his teammates and developing his skills. Your boy Maybin was recovering from blowing up his body to 30 lbs more than he actually can play at (when they drug test) so he would look good at the combine. Make no mistake, he got picked that high because of his combine workout. I'd like to see him re-take that same combine workout now without the special sauce. I don't blame the guy for trying to make as much money as he can, just don't ever say he's a team player or represented himself with integrity. -
Mario Williams - Mr. Invisible - Explain it
Webster Guy replied to Livinginthepast's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There was some concern w injury with Chandler Jones, but if we could go back in time to the offseason I think we would take Chandler Jones and spend our money on the best FA corner on the market, and still have enough to sign Matt Flynn. Biggest worry with Mario is that his salary number keeps us from retaining our core guys like Levitre and Byrd this year. He's still a decent player, but worth $4-5 M a year, not $16M. -
I think you throw in Tarvaris and give him a chance to play, he threw for over 3000 yards last year. Or make Seattle a trade offer for Flynn. We've got this former 1st overall draft pick, a chiseled 6'6 pass rusher that looks like "freakin hercules" that said he loves the fishing in Seattle.

Did Brady call the Bills "F'n Bit@hes"?
Webster Guy replied to Silvercrw's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He learned that language when he was getting tossed around like a ragdoll in the superbowl for the second time by the .500 team called the NY giants. -
Its an accuracy thing with Fitz. His pocket presence, buying a little time in the pocket, knowing when to tuck it and run are pretty good this year. His accuracy is off, and has been all season. I respect that coach Lee and Fitz are focusing on better mechanics for better ball delivery but I'm not convinced it's enough. I think accuracy is god given, you either have the touch or you don't, and all the practice in the world can only get you marginally better. He really needs to be able to hit that throw to an open TJ Graham instead of underthrowing him and getting intercepted, and hit a wide open Stevie Johnson down the sideline in the 4th quarter. These aren't impossible throws, they're pro QB ones. Hard to believe the same guy that missed those throws threw that perfect long ball to Freddy. We need Fitz's brain and legs on an accurate passer's arm.....
-
I think our GM, Head Coach and Roster are all pretty good. They've put together a nice O line and D line over the past two years. The Jets have played in the AFC championship game for 2 of the last 3 years. Does that legitimize their front office and coaching staff? Go read their message board today.......

The hit that caused the fumble wasn't Wilfork, it was Spikes. He did the exact same helmet to helmet hit on Freddy in the second half and caused his fumble as well. I agree that sending your smallest back who isn't 100% healthy (and not known for his short yardage work) in that situation didn't seem like the best move. I thought our short yardage backs are Freddy and Brad Smith on the direct snap. Or like some people have suggested, bring in fresh legged Choice who runs hard and low between the tackles. Either way though, the Patriots once again made the halftime adjustments necessary to come out and kill us in the second half. The same as they did the last time we played them. The Spiller fumble is meaningless in this game. We lost because we gave up 6 consecutive TD's and well over 500 yards. Sometimes when your head coach is so offensive minded they need to count on the defensive coordinator more than they should. If your DC isn't solid then you get outmatched, out-adjusted in the second half.

Scalped Tickets - Online or at the Stadium?
Webster Guy replied to QB Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Stay on craigslist. Toronto buff roch syracuse. If its just you I would bet you'll find great single seat deals. Be patient. Dont be afraid to go without a ticket. You'll have plenty to choose from when you get there. Plus you can buy $3 moorman jerseys while u wait. -
chandler looks out of shape but still fast and strong. He had a good game against balt.
-
You can still win the defensive line battle but if we cant cover their FOUR good WR's the ball will be out in three step drops and the pass rush doesn't matter much. It's what Rex did against us with an inferior QB and average receivers. They will run the Chan type spread and we will be in nickel a lot. Our offense needs to show up big time and win time of possession.
-
I'm afraid we're falling into the same short game/underneath passing that doomed us last year. Stevie isn't a long ball guy, Donald Jones is averaging less than 7.5 per catch and almost never seems to run downfield routes, Chandler is a great target but he's a TE, and as far as I can tell there have been no attempts to hookup with Graham for anything but short stuff. Our strong running game has compensated for this in the last two games, but the Patriots aren't KC or Cleveland and they know how to defend the short Fitz game. We will need to make some significant downfield throws in this game or get ready for lots of jumped routes and 8 man fronts and three n' outs. This might be the game where Fitz starts to hold the ball a little longer, maybe some pump fakes, and allow those double moves to develop in the secondary that get our WR's open deep. He needs to trust our line and stop making every throw inside three seconds. If we play conservative ball I think we're gonna get killed.
