  1. Yeah and it should have been 4th and short if Chan would have handed off the stupid ball on 3rd down, knowing he had two cracks at getting the first down. Its like the guy refuses to take risks when he needs to, and yet takes unnecessary risks like the end of the Titans and NE games. We have an offensive coordinator but no head coach. That's our single biggest problem. Chan is so preoccupied with getting the play call in on time that his game strategy and big picture view is suffering.
  2. chan should be offered the OC job. He can draw up plays and organize an offense, the head coach can tell him if we want a run or pass play and he can go from there horrible game coach. i didn't think that last year but he's brutal. he's missing so many calls now that I feel bad for the guy.
  3. Wait is this even a serious thread? this can't be real. The difference in the game was the special teams touchdown. Our Dline played very well, in large part because Kyle Williams had two and three guys on him after the first series, as K9 just posted. Our defense went on the road against a good offense and held them to 13 points in their own house. And three of those points was Gailey's fault for not kneeling on the ball with a minute left in the first half on our own TEN YARD LINE. As if Fitz was going to start hitting passes and drive us 60 yards in 60 seconds so we could get a shot at a field goal After watching the game, for someone to start a Kyle Williams had an off day thread is hilarious
  4. Haha perfect. Or a weakside throw to Graham in double coverage.
  5. So far from what I've seen, I would rank BPA like this. AJ Green JJ Watt Von Miller All three of these guys are elite players, game changers. All three might be the best at their position in the NFL already. I was still jumping up and down that we got Marcel on draft day though. He's got the physical tools and surrounding cast to be a monster, and he's certainly been showing up as a force the last few weeks.
  6. you saved me the typing. thanks
  7. I see your point but not me. I was proud of Chan kneeling on the Browns goal line in Cleveland Stadium when we had the win sealed but could have scored easily. I remember thinking that's difference between class and no class. Bill doesn't exhibit any that I've seen.
  8. Well he lost his starting Tight End and key to his offense for the rest of the regular season because he was running up the score. By the way, for you Bill lovers, if he's such a defensive genius, why can't they stop anybody for years now, even with all that talent. Brady made a lot of lucky people in the NFL look great. Romeo Crennel? Charlie Weis? Belichick? All failed head coaches without Tom Brady.
  9. fman he was a monster yesterday. 3 sacks and like ten pressures. Rivers was looking around like "uh, can someone please help me"
  10. Kyle wlliams is playing very well. Kyle Moore is showing up and Mario is streaky but decent. Ii think 99 needs a very serious off season conditioning program and the realization that NFL success takes more dedication, work ethic and 12 month training than just relying on god given abilities for a short college season.
  11. I think Chan might do himself some good at watching some films on how teams handle a special player. Jones-Drew, AP, Martin in Tampa. Those guys are ALWAYS on the field on 3rd downs. If nothing else they're valuable as a decoy. Against Houston and New England he only had 6 and 9 carries, a total joke. Against Miami CJ had 22 runs and 3 catches. That's solid usage, but I agree with you that it seems like in the critical situations CJ's only in half the time. Spiller also seems to be a great route runner and has good hands. Obviously on that last play in New England he smoked that LB and was wide open for the game winner--you know--when Fitz was looking right at him for a simple 9 yard throw, but chose to turn to the other side of the field and give the Patsies another W. I'm sick of Chan saying we need to get CJ involved more when he's the guy calling the plays. Coaches outthink themselves sometimes. Like these coaches trying to get cute and "ICE" kickers by giving them extra time to prepare for their kicks, assess the wind and field conditions, and in some cases even give them a practice shot.
  12. Ok first of all this is supposed to be a fun WHAT IF post, so save the "Hey man that's history, we can't change it" comments. Cinci picked right behind us in 2011 and took an elite receiver in AJ Green and a pro bowl quarterback in Andy Dalton in the second round. Remember, Dalton was still on the board when we took Aaron Williams in the second round and AJ Green was obviously there when we took Big Marcel 3rd overall. Without an offseason training camp, AJ and Dalton both made the pro bowl (and the playoffs) and from what I've seen this year they both seem to be getting better, despite virtually no surrounding cast. If you haven't seen them play, AJ Green has two guys on him all game and still gets open constantly. He leads the NFL in touchdowns and is on pace for a 1400 yard 15 touchdown season. It's interesting to think what this team would look like with Stevie and AJ Green, Spiller and Freddie our offensive line and an accurate young QB (he's at about a 90 passer rating this year) with Chan's offensive mind. Look I know we were horrible against the run in 2010. Worst in the league. Dareus was the best run stuffer in the country and he was an easy pick, but the Bengals went from 4-12 to 9-7 in one draft with two guys that would have made great Buffalo Bills.
  13. I agree. Jones has great YAC ability, but he lost my support in the NE game when he put his hand down to break his fall instead of keeping both on the ball. Instead of us having first and goal with a timeout, he dropped the ball and landed on it funny, burning our last timeout and very likely costing us the game. We wld be 5-5 with a split against NE and have a far better playoff shot if he woulve just two handed that ball like theyre trained to do.
  14. Wait I'm missing something. Fred Jackson will be healthy soon and he's one of the best short yardage backs in the game. I agree that Choice is very mediocre but we're ten games in here fellas. No way will they make any changes on offense unless someone goes on IR. If you mean off season picking up a back to challenge Choice like Johnny White did this year I'm all for it, but this isn't a vanilla offense we run and at this point there is no way Chan will change it up.
  15. Their defense is banged up. Obviously Reggie Wayne is a monster this year and will light up our secondary. Three things helping us: 1) Ten Days Rest Baby! 2) Wanny will get a lesson from Belicheat this sunday on how to play defense against Indy (watch closely Dave, it's legal to rush more than 4) 3) Our team wants it more and we're better than our record.
  16. Dude our defense was dominant tonite. Total passing was under 150, no receiver had over 50 yards, defense gave up 7 points all game, and Reggie Bush was held to 20 yards on 10 carries. We had two picks and three sacks and got the win on a homefield, primetime divisional game when our offense was lukewarm. And you say we played poorly? If you take our numbers tonite and multiply them by 16 games we crush the NFL leaders in turnovers, points allowed and total defense. Get real.
  17. Last year the Giants were 9–7, (a win percentage of 56.3%) We can be 9-7. And we have the streaky QB, two stud runners, and great special teams. Don't give up on this season yet dude. One game at a time. Our troops have 10 days rest and we come out swinging.
  18. Yeah he's a lowlife. One of those florida punks who whines that "everybody told me I wouldn't amount to nuthin". You can take the kid out of the ghetto, but......
  19. The pass was really high for a small receiver to get. Cj was best option
  20. Remember last year when Mr holdout the entire rookie training camp Maybin said "hey its buffalo's loss, and now they have to face ME twice a year". I remember laughing out loud at that one. Actually dude, you ummmmm are out of the league.
  21. for going into their house and putting 30 plus on them. Embarrassing for any defense to give up that many points and yards at home. I'm proud of the offense for taking it to them and think they deserve credit for a great battle. I had fun watching the game.
  22. If you think Dareus had a horrible game go watch it again. He played his best game since Redskins last year. Run defense, batting passes, pocket pressure. Very strong comeback game for 99.
  23. Funny you posted this I was thinking the same thing today watching him against Louisville. Mechanics n accuracy perfect.
  24. I would have agreed with you before the Titans game. Chan lost that game for us, plain and simple. We have so much more talent than they do, and we had the game in hand. Brutal display of decision making, play calling and risk taking. I was embarrassed for Chan trying to explain away his obvious mistakes in the post game. A super nice guy, understands NFL offenses. Needs a head coach to keep him from melting down at critical times.
