I think our biggest issue is we are weighted too heavily on defense and not enough on offensive coaching. We essentially have 3 defensive coordinators and Roman is on his own with the keys to a really talented offense that he seems to be mismanaging. Look at our roster, we are not built to be a ground and pound team which is Romans system. We have speed. A quick qb, shifty runners, speed receivers etc. This a run and shoot, create space and let TT improvise roster. I am always against mid season coaching changes but if I were Rex I'd have Roman go to the press conference after any game we scored less than 20 points and take the tough questions. And I would demand he call more aggressive packages/plays on offense, including giving Tyrod more leeway for line audibles. We are too tight and playing the wrong game for our personnel.

If you could pick just ONE player

Chan Gailey Light years ahead of Roman and the best game caller we've had. If only he had these weapons.... -
Somehow they got Perriman singled against Duke Williams. If that didn't happen we still might have been able to win that ugly mess. Yesterday was payback for playing nobody in preseason and having an offensive coordinator who is probably better suited to run a ground and pound college offense. We are very poor at playing from behind in his offense, but luckily for us this week--so is Fitzy.

LMAO Yeah we were close to the top in one of the best drafts of all time. I thought Cam was another Vince Young or (gasp) Jamarcus Russel and was praying we wouldn't take him. There are 5 guys in that draft that singlehandedly have lifted their teams into playoff contention (Cam, Von, A.J, Julio and Watt) Then there 2 more that are perennial studs in Dareus and Peterson. He wasn't a bad pick by any means, just not one of those extra special 5 who are at the very top of their respective positions in the league today. So rare for a draft with that many All Pro's. Thank Stevie Johnson for dropping the wide open TD against Pitt, otherwise we'd have been down the board 3 or 4 spots.

This article is meaningless crap. Sammy was getting open all day with zero limp. If its hurting him that much it would show up in his cuts, burst etc. They smartly babied the foot all preseason (and unfortunately most of the team) this is his first real test and its a little sore--what a shocker. DOOOMED. The kid is in his early twenties, he will be fine. In 3 days he will be burning Revis again like last year

It was Belichicks pure genius that caused the center to mess up that final snap and saved them from losing the game. GENIUS. I dont care what anyone says, we will beat them without Brady. We shut them down last game in NE with Gronk and Brady, it will happen again. P.s. Dareus please appeal suspension like LeVeon did and get it reduced to 3 games. Thanks

Post-Brady Patriots
Webster Guy replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It takes pressure off the Oline, forces the db's to creep up and play the line which helps the long ball options, gets the qb in rhythm with his wr's and moves the chains. Why would we want that? -
And zero real game insights. I can handle some idiocrity but point out some things during the course of the game that fans might not notice on their own. Peyton Manning did it more times in 3 minutes on thursday night football than those 2 dopes did all season last year...

I thought so too. They were 2 deep safeties when Goodwin came on, and just a single safety rolled to Sammy when it was Salas and Woods, so we were up against an 8 man front and seemingly no audibles out of runs. What is Roman's explanation for this?

Why no deep shots today Mr. Roman?
Webster Guy replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You can't throw deep against a strict cover 2. You need an offense that can play 9 on 7 in the box when they play the scheme Baltimore had. Short and intermediate stuff, slot receivers and TE's, play action etc. Then you might get single covered on the outside and get a chance to take your long ball shots. We will see cover 2 all year unless Roman starts preparing this team better. -
Just got back from the game, in person observations
Webster Guy replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
exactly. i posted this before the game and was very surprised to see that we really didn't have an answer here. A strict cover 2 is going to take away the deep ball against ANY qb in the league, and we knew (I assume) this was how anyone would play TT. So now that you only have 7 in the box, how do you attack it? Offensive rhythm is the way. Get a short game, get your slot guy and TE's rolling, set up your runs with the short and intermediate stuff. If that's what they give you then that's what you take. O-line was pretty rough today, but I blame this on the lack of adjustments we made at half. -
Belichick is the villain Bills fans love to hate
Webster Guy replied to Saxum's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I dislike the guy because he's got a weasely personality and he will do anything he can get away with to get an edge, regardless of whether or not it's ethical. That crap they pulled on Baltimore with the substitutions was such a dick move, the way the defense calls out shifts to simulate the snap count--also a dick move. He's Strength: Game Planning. Weakness: Drafting, Developing team chemistry (treats em all like replaceable robots), Releasing players too early trying to be clever but looking like an idiot in the end (Seymour, Chandler Jones, Welker etc), press conferences (or any time he has to speak about anything ever). Also looks like a troll. -
Yeah I was hearing the same thing from a buddy, how those guys are "stacked now that Steve Smith is back" On paper there isn't a single offensive player that would grade out better than our guys except for Yanda at RG. He's one badass white boy and was voted the 36th best player in the NFL for 2016. Other than that, I wouldn't trade our guys for anyone on that offense, including TT for Flacco. Defense is tough to call. Good front 7, probably a push with Dareus/Dumervil out and Suggs a full year out of football. If this game were in Buffalo we'd win by 10. Flacco will get desperate and sling a 4th quarter pick that will ice this one for us...............

What is the biggest question mark going into Game One
Webster Guy replied to ganesh's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not worried about the Ravens scoring a ton of points, they don't have the receivers to rack up yards on Darby and Gilmore, and they don't have a TE threat or stud runners. For me it's the Bills O-line, especially that right side holding up. I firmly believe you can get a good indication of how the game is going to go when you watch how each team's O-line performs on the first handful of snaps, (a few runs and pass protect sets) They have a tough defensive front vs our pretty good O-line. If we can hold them off, this game is ours. -
Elvis Dumervil - OUT vs Bills

Better. More experience, no rookies. -
Lorenzo Alexander, sacks & flags

Albright can't gain that much weight. He's obviously been trying for a long time with little success. Its the same thing everyone said about Maybin, but the fact is some dudes have a ripping metabolism, especially in their early 20's. Maybin juiced and added 20 lbs for the combine, but once he was in the league he couldn't cheat anymore and the weight fell off him to the point where he simply didn't have enough mass to compete. Sorry but Albright is in the same boat. Very intriguing prospect but you need to be able to play the run in the NFL too. -
AFC preview with worst case and best case scenarios
Webster Guy replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Fins might surprise with the new coaching but theyre gonna lose 4 of 6 in the division. Split the last 10 and i see them at 7 wins max -
The reason he fell so fast is he wasn't a real buffalo bill. He's a quitter and a prima donna. Was in Houston too. But you're right, it will be easy to see if it was the man or the scheme this year, which is a cool thing about this debate (it will actually be settled) I'm telling you I watched some of the NFL shortcuts just to verify this: he was getting handled consistently in one on ones against some no-name RT's. No counter moves, no explosiveness, getting stood up all the time. All he has left is cleanup sacks on broken plays because of his length and still good against the screen play. Wait and see.

If I'm Baltimore I gameplan for front 7 to focus on Shady, a fulltime spy for TT to keep him from his trademark scrambles that keep drives alive, and probably play cover 2 as long as Goody is opposite Sammy. On defense we know they will power run the big kid behind that stud RG on short yardage plays. If we stuff their mediocre run game without having to use 8 dudes, I see lots of punting for Baltimore. Players of the game: Reggie Bush for his punt return TD, Shady, Preston, and Adolphus the NaStY #92 DROY baby! Bills 23 Balt 16

Your honest prediction for the Bills record this year

or if Luck hadn't been such a weenie and stayed in college his last year, Cam would've fallen to us. -
First game of the season Vegas is always way off. Teams are significantly different from personnel, play calling, packages etc. There are lots of rusty players on both sides of the ball. Flacco and Suggs make the Ravens go, both coming off major injuries last year. Sammy, Kyle, Glenn, Richie, Aaron all had very limited camps. Mills is a big question mark for me at RT, he's going to have to represent against that active Ravens front. Dumervil can be a huge problem if he's on his game. 4th quarter game baby. TT vs. Flacco
