I know this isn't a popular position in Buffalo but I thing Marrone is a very good head coach. He reminds me a great deal of Bill Parcells, who also didn't set the world on fire his first couple of years as a head coach. I think the guys is very good leader of men, he hold people accountable (which is something that Rex does poorly) and he definitely has the fire in his belly. He had the courage of his convictions to stand up to Whaley on EJ and he is surly as hell, also like the Big Tuna. The only issue I have with him is he seems to be very very conservative with his offensive approach, 3 yards and a cloud of dust won't work in the NFL today. However that is the same way Parcells started out and he evolved into a risk taker and pretty good offensive balance.

I like all of these guys its too bad but its hard to argue after the Charger performance the last few years.

Yes, Tebow would be a significant upgrade to EJ who shouldn't be in this league.

Good move by the Browns; he seemed to have the Raiders making progress in his one year there.

What interests me about RG3 is that his skills seem to be a good fit for Greg Roman's offensive system. I understand that signing him would be a crapshoot. The money is a big problem and you're right the trade wouldn't work with that big of a salary. The only way he could be added to the team is as a free agent, given that he would likely have better opportunities to compete for a starting job somewhere else signing him would be unlikely.

As I read some of the articles from the St Louis-Post Dispatch this morning I couldn't help but feel empathy for the fans and disgust for the ownership. I also couldn't help but imagining those same articles and editorials appearing in the Buffalo News or Rochester Democrat and Chronicle. I think we might all want to take a moment from bashing/defending Rex, finding a new QB and cutting Mario to thank God we had the proverbial lamb's blood over our doorway and that Wilson did a nice job to ensure that ownership stayed local. Thanks for the Pegulas who may have saved both Buffalo franchises. EJ is not an NFL QB having him in camp would be a disservice to Bills fans There have been enough examples of reclamation projects prospering in new settings to make that seem quite possible.

I agree with you 100% about RG3 and EJ, I will vomit if I seeEJ take one more snap in a Bills uniform. I also agree that he will likely sign somewhere he has a chance to start that's why the Bills should trade for him.

The Bengals are cheaper than Ralph Wilson used to, they wouldn't fire him and have to pay two coaches. I agree; that his used to be called playing football and was the price you'd pay for going over the middle. Ronnie Lott made it to the HOF with hits like that.

I think it would be a bold move; he would be a great fit in Roman's offensive scheme and he would be a terrific plan B if Taylor regresses or gets hurt. I would make a trade with Washington send them EJ and a seventh round pick.

Rex has won in the past so its not impossible but like you I am less optimistic than I was a year ago. If he got his act together he would be a fun coach to have.

I am not impressed with Rob but I think it is a mistake to micro-manage team leaders. I hate when a GM or owner restricts who a head coach chooses for his staff. If you hire a guy you have to let him do it his way and then manage him by his results. If the defense is as bad next year as it was this year we should be completely Ryanless.

The only issues I have with your five items are: #2 I think its time for Mario to go. He doesn't like to play in the style of defense and he has regularly showed how lazy he his at times. #3 Glenn is going to be a big hit to the cap, I wouldn't be to upset if they judged his contract as too much money to commit to on of 5 positions on the OL. #5 My disappointment with Ryan has less to do with his bravado than his toughness. Allowing Jerry Hughes to make an ass out of himself each week and hurt the team and not holding players accountable will continue to be a problem if he doesn't kick a little ass once in a while. He wants to be liked by everyone. He needs to channel a little more Bill Parcells or even his father. Toughen up Rex its okay if the players don't always like you.

I agree that we shouldn't trade him but saying he was the 6th best QB in the league this year might be a bit of a strech... Agreed! Unless you have a all-star caliber guy he should should have to earn his spot and in fact the competition should make him better.

EJ is not an NFL caliber QB, he has no upside. Let him go and sign someone with even a remote possibility of winning a game in the NFL.

We pretty much have the same position here, in my original post that started this topic I opened with "it's pretty safe to assume the Taylor will be back as the Bills starting QB next season". What am suggesting is that we should have plan B ready if Tyrod turns into a Trent Edwards/Ryan Fitzpatrick style disaster next year or gets knocked out for the season early on. It would be a disaster if we end up writing off 2016 in October because of one of those two scenerios.
