  1. I agree, from my view the Bills have MILDLY upgraded the offensive talent and seriously downgraded the talent of the other side of the ball while spending signifcantly more cap money leaving little to spend on a QB should someone unexpctedly become available (Cutler, RG3). I really dislike the Casell trade.
  2. You and me both, what they have is a bag of beans...
  3. Yes, if they bring in additional competition I will back off on my criticism of the move.
  4. I like Cosell too; sounds like he thinks the Eagles got the better of the trade but the Bills did "okay". I still think there were better choices with more upside out there than Cassell.
  5. Absolutely not I agree 100%, all of those would have been better choices and were not even waiting to see what happens with Cutler or Manning
  6. How great would that be? I'm already dreaming about it
  7. Noone has been mentioned the EJ Manuel to GB for Aaron Rogers and a first round pick... could that be it?
  8. First of all great to hear from a fellow Bills fan here in Bradyland, (we live in Northborough a little east of Worcester) I think the idea of building a Patriot-Place like complex outside of downtown Buffalo makes the most sense to me. The biggest challenges to downtown as out lined by others on this posting and others is that football doesn't lend itself to the same type of game-day experience you get with baseball, hockey or basketball. With football the tailgate is a big part of the fun, somehow meeting for "brunch" at an overcrowded local downtown restaurant doesn't gel with going to the football game. Football is very unique. Additionally it is only 8 or 10 games a year (I despise pre-season games). Having a 70k seat behemoth stadium sitting empty, surrounded by empty parking lots doesn't do much to bring nightlife and activity to a downtown area. Placing it in a suburban area with more land build around for shops and entertainment makes much more sense to me.
  9. I'm with you, he does have a big arm. I hope the Bills bring him in for a look/see.
  10. I like the honesty, and truthfully is there anything ever gained by these interviews? Sports interviews are the worst, nothing is every said. It reminds me of the scene from Bull Durham, Every time an athlete answers outside of these cliches he is either a "jerk", "loudmouth" or "talks to much".
  11. I like Hackett, I think it would be a great addition if he comes back.
  12. I agree, I thought the NFL had been pushing for something closer to Toronto. This article is a little polly-anna. I particularly love the dismissive treatment of the traffic issue. The Bills are a regional team adding an hour to get out of the parking lots and onto the freeways to an already 3 hour drive to Syracuse or 3 hours with the customs sop to Canada is a a big deal. This was clearly written from the prospective of someone who (admittedly) lives close to area. There are not enough people in that demographic to support an NFL team. What's wrong with the Skyway?
  13. I definitely do; it appears he was handcuffed both by his boss and the Bills lack of a QB. I don't think he was every given a real chance to show what he is capable of doing. He will get another chance somewhere though.
  14. It looks like the way things have played out the Bills have their organizational structure in place. Brandon runs business operations, Whaley talent evaluation and Ryan runs the players. Ryan tells Whaley where he needs help and Whaley finds the talent. However in summary as you've done a great job in pointing out it does look unbalanced toward the defensive side of the ball. Whaley has done pretty well with his defensive additions, less than stellar on the other side. My guess is that for this season at least we are going to run with the structure in place and hope that Roman has some influence on the talent evaluation on the offensive additions.
  15. I wouldn't give them a second for Kapernick; he had a big set back this year. Defenses have caught up with his limited ability; they are forcing him to stay in the pocket and he can't play from there. It has happened to almost every single mobile QB.
  16. Ralph was a dishonest bitter petty cheapskate who never spent enough money on this team to keep it competitive, what he and his minions like Jeff Littman did to Polian, Butler and Wade Phillips was shameful and a big part of the reason there hasn't been a play-off game at Rich Stadium since 1996.
  17. That is complete BS man! WGR is reporting that a website is quoting an off the record comment by a person who has sold and delivered the Buffalo News and watched NFL Network that an unnamed but quality source implied stronly that Pegula uses Truvia in his coffee (not black!!) and Whaley has a Snapple that Brandon opens for while hanging from the ceiling like a bat during the meetings just to see if it throws off the potential candidates. Be a real fan man stop peddling this hater non-sense.
  18. Of all the candidates mentioned so far Rex is my choice; I agree he needs a good offensive coordinator but I love what he brings to the table.
  19. I'm very open minded too, Tom Brady is Super Gay and Peyton Manning sucks but I wouldn't either of them wearing the red, white and blue of Buffalo
  20. Agreed that is just stupid, Winston is not a sure-fire starter in this league, he is a quite a bit like his predecessor Manuel. They have a lot of the same issues, questions about arm strength, decision making (on the field) and accuracy. I want a traditional pocket passer.
  21. Play-off without question; she is an annoying B word. I wouldn't date her if I had the chance.
  22. I couldn't agree with you any more!
  23. Bills trade-up with St. Louis and with the second selection in the 2014 NFL Draft select: Johnny Manzeil, Quarterback Texas A&M Huge upside, also give Bills insurance if EJ Manuel doesn't progress or remains injury prone. You need a back up plan at this position or we will continue our 15 year rebuilding plan.
  24. Johnny Football... no question about it. I'd trade-up to get him, but if he falls into their lap at 9 take him.
  25. Count me in the "I wish the Bills would trade-up to draft him" camp. He does have the Flutie-like intagibles to be a winner.
