Commentators get access to practices, team facilities, get to talk to players and coaches about strategy etc... This allows commentators incite so they can speak more knowledgeably. owners & people making personnel decisions like the Raiders say Brady will be doing aren't allowed to. The article raised it so I was asking peoples thoughts on that.
Today Joe Marino & others said there were stipulations the NFL had on allowing Brady to be an owner. He is not allowed as a commentator to attend fox production meetings to prevent him talking to players and coaches, he isn't allowed at team facilities prior to the game, to prevent him being there for practices etc. He also I believe they said cant cover any Raiders games. He's apparently the only commentator now with these restrictions. NFL did it to try to get rid of conflicts of interest.
