  1. You beat me to it! In theory of course, shouldn't hitting the weed make watching this game possibly interesting? The anorexic metrosexual? Yes, with son Stephen by his side sporting the dejected looks of billionaires realizing that they'll never see another Super Bowl Championship. Yes, after some deliberation this morning my wife and I decided that though we hate Brady and the Cowboys that we'd rather see the Cowboys lose. Agreed. I'm trying to imagine a scenario where all parties to this game come away unhappy.
  2. As I mentioned in the game thread (you know that topic where everyone is posting but no one is reading?) that besides the contributions of Elam and Cook, the trade deadline acquisitions of Dean Marlowe and Nyheim Hines have really paid big dividends. McBeane are really doing a good job. Because he's shorter, people don't think of Singletary as a power back but as most of us know, Motor squats 550 pounds and has a great north-south compass... essentially he's a mini-power back. I know that's not satisfactory for some here but it is what it is. He's pretty good at getting those tough yards and I think he has an important role on the team.
  3. I was wondering if this was because they were playing a 3rd string QB or whether the fish really needs to fundamentally change their play calling system. I always say, vote with your dollars or in this case with your viewership. Boycotting is a legit action. You have an 86 year old MILF? Pics? Regardless this is definitely a first world problem. I would say that the early season games are not as good because of the restrictions in the CBA (which I'm in favor of). Fewer OTAs, fewer padded practices, etc. But once mid-season rolls along it seems that the teams are hitting on all cylinders and that the product is per usual.
  4. And that is situational football which applies to any receiver but the fact that it happened against DeAndre Hopkins and Justin Jefferson makes it even more unforgivable. This is at least partly a coaching issue. When the game is on the line there is zero harm in mentioning the obvious but important points.
  5. And Tre White played his best game of the season and is rounding into shape. There's a scenario here where the Bills get their best CB play in the playoffs. To me the failure of DBs to turn for the ball is strictly a coaching issue. I hope this does not persist as an issue anymore. Look for the g__da_ned ball.
  6. I played the Giants and was happy to take the points too. I expected them to win. Actually except for the SEA-SF game I took the points in all games this weekend including tonight's game. So far, so good. That was particularly unforgivable considering the Hail Murray happened to the same Buffalo Bills team only 24 months previous. Man was I pissed.
  7. Belichick has said on many occasions that there should not be any restrictions on the use of replay.
  8. Which game are we talking about? Lombardi's Packer teams used to say (paraphrasing) "We never lose, sometimes we just run out of time."
  9. But... that isn't a clever quip... That's better. I thought maybe you hadn't put the whiskey in your coffee this morning. So... Bills opponents... should actually try losing yardage on 1st and 2nd down? 😊
  10. Just kidding. I don't disagree with you... just assume the position like the electric football players.
  11. All teams play under the same rules. Flirting with delay of game is a function of officiating leniency. If the NFL tightened things up the teams would make the necessary adjustments. The NFL should really try to tighten this up so it doesn't become like traveling in basketball.
  12. I was surprised to find out that Miami only had 40 sacks this year. They have a lot of talent on that D-line. I wonder if their sack total accelerated towards the end of the season?
  13. In this discussion a distinction has to be made between players being pushed or even nudged in the back and what could happen if there were no restrictions on blocking from behind. Yes you're right the rule has not stopped the pushes and nudges but it certainly has eliminated high speed, high impact blocks in the back. The rule exists for player safety to prevent hits that could injure players. If backside/blindside contact were permitted it would be open season on defensive players. Also do you really believe the game would be improved by allowing offensive players to blindside block their opponents? Should American Football also legalize holding?
  14. As you know whether defense wins championships or not is not a yes/no question. Many people still can't break the habit of looking at complex issues in an oversimplified and binary way. The question (if there is one) is, "How good does a team's combined offense and defense have to be in order for that team to be considered a Super Bowl contender?" It would be a shock to find out that there isn't a positive direct proportion between drive start and points scored. I like the model and agree that the Super Bowl will be won by one of those 4 teams though I believe that Cincinnati is also in that group.
  15. Yes, extensive spying today. Agree that the INT was more on Brown than on Josh.
  16. And against a tougher schedule this year. It is ironic. Hodgins couldn't stay healthy when he was here and then after he leaves, Kumerow gets injured. And in fairness, the Bills were starting to incorporate Kumerow into the offense a bit before he got injured. I don't know. All I know is that I'm glad we had 2 kickoff returns for TDs last week and that we have excellent special teams. It's great that we're playing the Bengals in Orchard Park instead of Cincinnati... due to special teams. Agreed. Having bad special teams is a constant, recurring plague. Not every special teams play involves kicking off to your opponent.
  17. Whatever you do, don't call him "McClappy" or post a link to this video: If you do a total stranger will question your character.
  18. Romo was calling him, "Big Game Gabe." I hope he continues to live up to that one.
  19. I once skipped a friend's wedding (I was supposed to stand up for him) because he had the audacity to schedule it on a Sunday during football season (I had season tickets). I'm better now and he's even forgiven me. 😆 Today I actually allowed myself to enjoy the game even in spite of the suspense and momentum swings. Though there are reasons for concern I ended up enjoying the game. Of course the Bills won so I certainly can't say I'd have enjoyed the game had they lost and I'm glad I didn't have to find out. Yeah ultimately I have no problem with winning ugly. A lot of people here already seemed to have forgotten the 17 year drought. Guiness and sushi? THAT sounds like a "you" problem. Can you actually taste the food?
  20. A few people I know didn't like the play calling on that possession but it's also true that Davis was behind the defense on both those passes. Josh underthrew him on the first one and overthrew him on the second one. A better pass on either play is a touchdown. The weird part of the game for me was the role the sun played on deep throws. I believe that the opening deep drop by Waddle, the failure of John Brown to breakup the deep interception, and the drop by Khalil Shakir were all a function of having the sun in their eyes.
  21. Beane’s trade deadline acquisitions: Marlowe and Hines.
  22. AJ's numbers are decent in context but still don't pass the eyeball test. The AJ experiment was an interesting one. I wish he was playing at his college weight cause I liked the pick and was impressed with his college video. As for TJ Watt, anyone who watched the Steelers last two games against Baltimore and Cleveland saw him being a force on every play, but not necessarily showing up on the stat sheet. Was this necessary? 😆 Agree with those wishing/hoping AJ develops a counter spin inside because it seems like he's overplayed outside most of the time.
