  1. Very public complaining by the main offensive skill position players for most of the season. They had stopped trying to keep it in house. WR Diontae Johnson was also quite publicly unhappy and went after one of the offensive coaches on the sidelines during the Browns game. O-lineman Broderick Jones actually ended up picking him up and carrying him away to defuse the situation.
  2. Yes that was brought up in the 2nd post in this topic and discussed in several subsequent posts BEFORE yours.
  3. Augie, you make a reasonable point but I still disagree. I stand by my opinion that people here (and everywhere actually) should write/talk less and read/listen more. When the input : output is negative, that individual as well as everyone around them suffers. As a practitioner turned educator (construction industry), I reject the adage that "there's no such thing as a stupid question." There are lots of stupid questions and they usually come from people who are too lazy to pay attention or to seek the answers themselves (even by simple reason). To your comment about preaching, I almost never preach and I never crusade. That said I'm sincerely sorry to offend you. You are one of the better posters here. My apologies.
  4. Let me help you out here... the Raiders wished him a Happy Birthday on social media one day after benching him. For most people that irony is humorous.
  5. Yep... let the record show... 3 weeks ahead of the actual transaction... @Blank Stare
  6. The only thing I know for sure is that there's a rule prohibiting padded bras in the stadium. "Brassieres worn inside the stadium must have cups of a sheer, unpadded material."
  7. Another public service announcement... don't believe everything you read. Sorry to be a dyck head. 🙃
  8. Great job. You answered the question before it was asked. Hopefully no one will ask why he lingered on the free agent market for so long... Yes... exactly. You also answered the question before it was asked. Good job. ... nothing personal but this is not a very good question. Exactly. This is why he was still available. Obviously... to some of us but some people have comprehension problems... or simply would rather post than read... good job on you though. Yes. True. You're absolutely correct. A pretty simple concept. Hopefully no one persists in asking the stupid question. Agreed. This has already been painstakingly addressed by 7 posts before yours. You should read before you post. Sigh... Yes... thank you for understanding this exceedingly simple concept. Thank you dear God... Bless you... you restore my faith... Yes, thank you. I'm now convinced that no one will ask the stupid question as to why he wasn't signed earlier... Nothing personal but this is a really stupid ***** question. Forget it... you're wasting your good opinion on deaf ears... people who post first and read... never? Yes!!! You are correct Sir!!! Thank you for a good take... maybe there is hope for this country. Moral of the story (as always). READ... then only post if necessary. Here's another idea... if you're not adding value... don't bother adding anything because you're part of the problem... this is the reason a 6 page thread turns into a 20 page quagmire of feces. This has been a public service announcement.
  9. Bravo. The first original thought in 20 pages. I've ruled out Milano's return but barring further injuries, if DaQuan returns the Bills will have an embarrassment of riches at DT.
  10. Because (exactly like last year) he's one of these guys who hates training camp and wants to sign later in the year to the highest bidder among the best teams.
  11. I knew we were forgetting someone... yes Thomas Smith was an excellent cornerback. Former 1st rounder and started nearly 100 games for us. Not a great ball athlete though.
  12. Good add. He should be added to the poll. Mario Clark was a former 1st rounder of the Bills and a very solid player... as was his partner, Charles Romes. Yes you can criticize... or you could just add some names.
  13. Another typically oversimplified, binary debate on TSW. Of course there's an element of subjectivity to any player grades. That's even true within the NFL clubs' personnel departments. That's not the question. The question is how much value is there in the grades of established, 3rd party services? I'm pretty sure their products are not totally invalid or totally lacking in value. How many of the OPs original data points seem reflective of what we see on the field? Does it seem like Tua goes to his first read more than any other QB? Does it seem like Josh is checking down a lot this year? Does it seem like Josh looks at Diggs a high percentage of the time this year? Does it seem like James Cook is more effective in gap runs than zone runs?
  14. Justin Jefferson was just placed on IR... pretty sure this is an opportunity to get him on the cheap. This would not be a sexy move or a popular move but that dude is a badass player. If he's the same player he was, he'd be a big help. Besides being a savvy receiver, he brings toughness and attitude to a team. A bit alarming though that he's not on a roster at the age of 30.
  15. What is Penn 6 like? I see they're in Midtown and that they have an oyster bar. Are they more upscale than the typical sports bar? Are they pricey by Bflo standards or do they have gameday discounts? Here's their lunch menu: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5b32b64489c172cc79991d5d/t/61eef75a25bc24652ebfb183/1643050842914/Penn6+Lunch+Menu+.pdf Here's their brunch menu: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/5b32b64489c172cc79991d5d/t/6452ca777e1e442d19142870/1683147383110/Brunch+Menu+Penn+6+_updated+5.3.23.pdf There's mention of "spiced wings" and "dry-rubbed spiced wings" but no mention of "Bflo-style chicken wings" and the menu leans more towards raw than deep fried apps. I see they have fancy cocktails but do they have pitchers? I'm gonna be in NYC next month so these are important details. Thanks.
  16. Like a few others have said, I'm intrigued by the idea of Bernard, Milano, and Williams being on the field at the same time when the opponent is in heavier sets. There wouldn't be an LB corps anywhere near as fast as those three.
  17. In college over 4 years Johnson averaged 24.9 yards on 48 kick returns and 12.3 yards on 4 punt returns. https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/ty-johnson-1.html#all_kick_ret
  18. Great stuff. Thanks for sharing Einstein. #1 and #3 confirm what I have long believed... most people here attribute Josh's greatness to his physical skills. This is partly true. People dismiss or discount that QB is a "neck up" position. If it was simply about physical skills, Ryan Leaf and JaMarcus Russell would be in the Hall of Fame. What separates Mahomes and Allen from all the others is both their athleticism and their football IQ. When you listen to him speak and watch him play it's pretty obvious that Josh is a naturally brilliant person. Not pretentious. Not intellectual. Just brilliant. #9: Josh's avoidance of sacks is nearly unparalleled. He does a deep and shallow shuffle (up and down the ladder) that few QBs employ and it routinely buys him time. Again he's figured out tactics which show that he's a thinking man. I disagree with this. I think the Bills are above average in plaster drills. Diggs is great at it as you say. Gabriel Davis is above average in this area. And Josh isn't making these miracle play extensions without others catching the ball. I think the team overall does a good job of finding voids in the defense when the original play design elapses.
  19. The person you're responding to wasn't necessarily contradictory to your post but your's is an excellent post. I have never thought the Bills as being injury prone under McBeane. Much to the contrary actually. I agree. There's been a lot of talk here about trading for a WR but if the Bills updgraded one position I would want to see an anchor in the middle of the defense for our speedy linebackers to work off of. This is a brilliant post in terms of measuring the impact of injuries However I would say though that man-games lost is the only measure of how well a team's training/strength and conditioning program is working. If the level of injuries is low, then the team is doing well in this regard. They have zero control over which players are injured... that's more a matter of luck. Leonard Williams is a pretty top talent too. The Giants have some nice defensive pieces though they haven't put it all together yet. I think there's something to this. The Bills are a smaller, fly-to-the-ball defense which is why they can defense a team like the Dolphins effectively. I worry that the smaller, faster defense could incur injuries at a higher rate than other styles of defense. Maybe it's just a phobia but I've had this same thought. Yes. @MasterStrategistmade this point when talking about his "% of salary cap" measure. Bottom line though is that the Bills under McBeane have been a model franchise in terms of keeping injury levels low.
  20. I feel confident Johnson will get some touches. Damien Harris had 25 touches in less than 6 games and I don't think the Bills will be shy about giving touches to a 5 year vet with almost 300 touches in his career, and a very nice yards per carry and yards per reception. Like you said, he's a contact runner with good speed and good hands. I won't be surprised if Johnson flashes very well. His video with the Jets is above average and they were never a good offense when he was there.
  21. I wouldn't overstate the point about the Pats weak running game. The Bills aren't only missing Ed Oliver, they're also missing Daquan Jones. The dropoff from these two to Jordan Phillips, Poona Ford, and Tim Settle is fairly huge IMO. Both Oliver and Jones were playing at approximate All-Pro levels. Before this year, most people here were considering Epenesa a bust too. What are the percentages supposed to indicate? Schatz' post is meaningless without knowing what the percentages mean.
  22. Accompanying the news that Damien Harris has been placed on IR is the news that Ty Johnson has been elevated to the active roster. https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/3915411/ty-johnson Johnson is a 5'10" 210 pound running back who was selected in the 6th round of the 2019 draft by the Detroit Lions. He played his college ball at Maryland. In his NFL career he's averaged 4.4 yards per carry and has 86 receptions (7.8 ypr). He looks like he's a no-nonsense back much like the man he's replacing (click "Watch on You Tube") He wasn't invited to the combine but apparently had a great workout at his Pro Day: "At his pro day, Johnson turned heads with a 4.40 in the 40-yard dash, although it was reportedly clocked at 4.26 by one source. He also posted a 34.5-inch vertical and a 123-inch broad jump. He also posted 27 bench press reps which would have placed him second if he’d been at the combine." https://www.ganggreennation.com/2020/10/6/21500443/scouting-jets-running-back-ty-johnson
