As the resident guy on the board that gets accused of pumping up the Niners too much and has a lot of money on them to win it all, It’s having an offensive mind light years ahead of anyone else plus the best roster in football. How good is the roster? They blew 3 1st round picks and can still get to the nfc title game every year. Shanahan has no equal. Actually they did know. CMC dad played for Shanahans dad. Their families are close. The injuries were overblown. He shut it down early on some bad panthers teams. The Niners knew what they were getting and essentially traded for the best weapon in football for pennies on the dollar.

Some things about this favor the Bills. As many mentioned already, short week for the eagles coming off a huge emotional win. Just as big in my opinion is the fact that they play the best team in the league (49ers) the week after us, so we might be catching them at a good time. That game with the 49ers is going to be for the 1 seed so Philly needs that more than any other game this year. They know it’s coming so hopefully they look ahead some to it. Bad news is we’ve been awful on the road this year. If we can block the eagles d line enough to give josh a chance, the eagles LBs and secondary are subpar and we absolutely can move the ball. Their corners and safeties get roasted on a weekly basis. On the other side of the ball, they’re so physical they’ll be able to run at will on us but to me it’s all about not giving up the big play to brown and smith. Hurts has been sketchy as a pocket passer all year. Keep them in 3rd and 4-7 all game and you have a chance. If we put up points, we can get them out of their run game and force hurts to beat us. That’s the path to winning.

They are. Their defense has been making it work all year despite injuries and overall lack of talent/depth. They’re not that great overall though.

When josh scored I didn’t celebrate. Instead I texted my buddy and told him broncos will kick the game winning FG at 11:25 pm. I was a few minutes off but decades of this informed my mindset. This thread is spot on. I’ve taught my son to always wait to celebrate because the refs always screw the Bills. While refs have been bad league-wide, it’s worse against the bills.

All of this and it’s why I want McDermott gone. I have zero confidence in him in big games. And I’m not basing my opinion of him on this matchup Sunday. They are a bad matchup for us, plain and simple, especially with Benford and Jackson trying to man up against Higgins and Chase. Bengals are going to get their points for sure. Im not sure we can keep up either. Big Lou always has a great plan for their defense in big games. Where our defense crumbles, theirs steps up in big matchups. They’ll have a plan to stop josh from running and to take Diggs away. Not sure what we’ll do when that happens. They just executed a great plan against CMC, Kittle, and Aiyuk Sunday. While I’m “grateful” we’ve had some measure of sustained success, it can be better. We’ve gone as far as McDermott and Beane can take us. There just needs to be new blood. Something to get us over the hump. We only have so much time with josh. I for one don’t want to look back and wonder what could have been if we hadn’t stuck with McBeane forever.

This. Although their D coordinator always shows up in big games. Can’t say the same for our coaching. I expect him to have a great plan for Josh and Diggs and force us to do things we aren’t comfortable with. As far as our defense goes, I agree with you, we’re way too banged up to hang with them. Even when we were healthy, we can’t hang with them, hence the two matchups last year. I was at the Damar game. It was quickly about to be 14-3 when he went down. It’s not being defeatist to say they’re the worst possible matchup for us (besides SF). We don’t have answers for their WRs. Going to be a long night.
