  1. The Chiefs deserve the 1 seed if: a) they beat the Raiders and b) the Bills don't play a 17th game It's obviously a horrible situation, but it's the clear fair thing to do in the event of no Bills-Bengals game taking place. You can't assume the outcome of a game. I'd say that even if the Bengals had led 35-0 early 3rd quarter. It sucks for the Bengals just as much as it sucks for the Bills. To say to the Chiefs, "Well, yes, you went 14-3 and we went 13-3, but we beat you heads up," is obviously ridiculous. 14-3 is clearly better than 13-3. It just is. If the Chiefs lose to the Raiders, and no Bills-Bengals game is played, the Chiefs could fall to third place. In that were to happen, they'd obviously want the Bills-Bengals game to take place so they could cheer for the Bills in hopes of getting the 2 seed. So in that case, that would be unfair to the Chiefs. If the NFL had decided to play Bills-Bengals on Thursday -- and then the Bills-Pats and Ravens-Bengals games next Tuesday, before playoffs the next weekend -- that would have been unfair to the Ravens and Patriots. There's potential unfairness everywhere you look. The chances of making a ruling that benefits every team is an impossibility.
  2. chiefs planet is a fair representation of "the entire chiefs fan base" in the same way that InfoWars is a true representation of "all media outlets."
  3. Dion Dawkins was just on CNN with Wolf Blitzer for a 10+ minute segment.
  4. i realize times change, but the chiefs played a game roughly 24 hrs after jovan belcher killed his girlfriend/child and then blew his own brains out in the arrowhead stadium parking lot in front of the GM and coach. not sure if the nfl forced the chiefs to play or not, but that was ridiculous. that chiefs team was 1-10 up against the 3-8 panthers. there was zero reason to play. and yet, they did.
  5. One scenario I was thinking of for the Bills in the event of this being a 16-game season -- combined with a Chiefs win on Saturday -- is that the Bills could tank the Pats game to help get their mind right; become the 2-seed; and guarantee themselves a home game vs the Patriots (likely their desired Rd 1 opponent). However, I don't think they would win the tiebreaker vs Cincy for 2 seed if they finished with the same record. If Bills lost vs Pats and Bengals beat Ravens, both would have 12-4 records. Conference record tiebreaker would be identical: Bills 8-3, Bengals 8-3 Record vs common opponents tiebreaker would be identical: Bills 8-3, Bengals 8-3 Next tiebreaker I believe is strength of victory. Bills opponents have 92 wins, Bengals opponents would have 95 wins. The Bills couldn't overtake the Bengals in the final week due to the schedule being so identical. So best I can tell, the Bills would need a win or Bengals loss to secure the 2 seed if neither team plays all 17 games.
  6. Correct! That's because 85% of the chiefs fan base still has their Chiefs Starter jacket from the mid-90s, they have their Logo Athletic Chiefs sweatshirt, they have their white Chiefs turtle neck with the embroidered red helmet, they have their Sharktooth cap (also from the 90s), and they show up to the game in their boots and overalls and a piece of cardboard to stand on. (And many of them bring their AM/FM radio to listen to the game broadcast.) In other words, harmless.
  7. anyone who looks at the bills and chiefs and doesn't think the bills are 2-3 points better on a neutral field are crazy. the chiefs defense is complete trash. mahomes went 36-of-41 for 330 yards and two TDs today (and a rushing TD) and the Chiefs needed overtime to beat ... the Texans. Buffalo's D can get the Chiefs off the field 4+ times in a game. I'm not convinced (at all) that the Chiefs can do the same if the Bills offense plays to potential.
  8. the bills are 10-pt road favorites at bears and will be at least a 10-pt home favorite vs the patriots. by definition, these are not "tough games." you can lose any game in the NFL - we all know that - but on paper, these are the 'easy' ones.
  9. I would: 1) get rid of conferences 2) expand size of divisions (8 teams in 4 divisions, divided up by region) 3) do round robin style format in each division (you play each division team once, alternate home/away each year) NFL scheduling is both inequitable and boring. Winning the AFC East in 2022 is way harder than winning the NFC South. The Bills/Jets/Dolphins were stuck behind a generational talent for 15 years (essentially playing for a Wild Card) and the Broncos/Chargers/Raiders are stuck in the same position for the next 10-15 years as well behind Chiefs/Mahomes. Playing 6 of your 17 games (35% of overall games) against three teams in a 32-team league is boring. Do you think Titans fans yearn for two games vs the Texans or Jaguars? I can't imagine. It would be great if the Bills, instead of playing six games vs the same three teams, could instead play the Cowboys, 49ers and Chargers this year. It would be nice to see Chiefs vs Eagles this year. Or a host of other good matchups. It would be especially great to see some of these matchups in the playoffs. We won't ever see a Bills vs Chiefs Super Bowl because they both happen to be in the same arbitrary conference that was sketched out 50 years ago (or more specifically, in 2002 with realignment.) There can never be Bills vs Jets Super Bowl. There can't be Packers vs Cowboys. This is stupid. It's way too limiting. It creates less exciting playoff matchups. The NFL should be all in on creating as many great matchups as possible. Imagine a young kid who became a Bills fan this year. Let's say he lives in Tampa. Let's say his parents don't travel. Well, the Bills visited Tampa last year. The next time they are scheduled to visit Tampa again will be 2029. After that, the next trip to Tampa will be 2037. Josh Allen will be 41 years old in 2037. So the kid in Tampa gets to see his favorite team play in his home town twice in 15 years, and might possibly only get to see Josh Allen once — in 2029! Meanwhile, the young Bills fan in KC, who started cheering for the Bills last year, got to see the Bills play twice last year in KC. And again this year. And maybe again later this year. And again next year. And probably a handful more times in the next decade alone. Ridiculous!
  10. Romo does a great job breaking down late-half clock situations. He rightfully blasted the Lions' end of half clock management at the end of the 1st half. I also think he does a terrific job of explaining two-minute situations and what you want to do, essentially putting you inside his head on what he thinks when he's on the field. Too many analysts don't have a clue what to do with the clock.
  11. This year will be the worst Chiefs team of the Mahomes era likely from 2018 thru 2026. Chiefs went full-blown rebuild mode this year (four rookies were in the secondary last night) and the WR corps is in disarray (lost Tyreek, no JuJu last night, Toney likely out, Hardman on IR). Starting a rookie 7th-round RB. KC is in a great cap situation going forward. This doesn't have to be the year for the Bills, but it might be the best chance. Bills are a great all around team.
  12. The Chiefs had nine real drives. They scored TDs on three of them. They punted twice, kicked three FGs and turned it over. You'd think they scored 63 points, never got to third down, and had TDs on every drive.
  13. No quarterback, and no offense, in modern NFL is going to be amazing every game. The defenses have caught up. The average over/under in an NFL game is 45 points. 14 of 22 teams today scored 20 points or less. The Bills have been an offensive machine before. They'll be an offensive machine again.
  14. That end of regulation drive, with Mahomes gaining half the field with his legs, plus the 2 pter is gonna haunt the Titans. Until they wake up tomorrow morning and realize they are in the AFC South.
  15. This one of the very, very, very rare times where if I'm the Chiefs, I might prefer defense first.
  16. Chiefs are snapping it under 5 secs left on play clock entire drive, this is madness.
  17. Titans last six drives: 23 plays, 27 yards. They've extended their lead in that time.
  18. The opinions in here are a rollercoaster. Late 1Q Mahomes has the best weapons and a well-oiled machine of an offense. Since then - as has been the case for much of the year - JuJu and Scantling can't get open, the tackles can't contain the pass rush, and Mahomes is trying to make something amazing happen as Kelce tries to break free. The Chiefs offense is good when it's rolling, like vs the 49ers. And being the #1 offense is a real accomplishment, no doubt. But this offense has some real concerns. I don't think people realize just how gettable this OL really is.

  20. say this for the titans: if you have a weakness, they'll expose it.
  21. The Chiefs low key have one of the worst collection of offensive tackles in the league. Orlando Brown is atrocious. Wylie has faced a ton of great pass rushers but is really shaky on that side.
