  1. They need to find him weapons that aren't walmart bargain bin weapons. Aside from diggs..... Also a real consistent running game. I think cooke can be that guy but something needs to change. I'm not versed in football systems so I don't know if it's just the patriots o that theyve added to is the problem or if they need a wholesale change to another system.
  2. glad to see at least bills fans realize it's not just x amount of turnovers so they're all his fault. it's a collective fail. josh isn't fumbling the ball after a catch and run. josh isn't letting perfectly thrown balls go right through the hands and into a defender.
  3. i don't see any winnable games on the schedule. we will get lit up by the jets and pats lol. this team is in full tear down mode. a lot of decisions based on salary and age coming in the offseason. best to secure the highest possible position in the draft. time to jettison the hc hes taken us as far as he can take us. this offseason will be one of major upheaval. on a side note having my earliest memories as a fan of the 83 bills my peak disappointment was wide right. it was soul crushing. followed by brett hull the cheater. by the time 13 seconds came around i already knew we were losing that game. This was crushing in a different way because it took so long to climb out of that abyss and now we are right back there with rex and the ghost of dick jauron. Its because hiring mcd was just pure luck and i know that if mcdermott is fired they will most likely f up the next hire.
  4. I know josh's stats don't tell the whole story because he just doesn't look right. He doesn't seem to be Josh until we're behind. Until then it seems like hes trying to be a typical immobile pocket passer. Its so simple... run like you always have but just slide or run out of bounds. Better that than get sacked. Also, not getting a legit wr2 was a mistake. I feel like Beane is shopping at walmart digging in the 2 dollar dvd bin looking for wr help. dalton is a great add but he's a slot wr maybe a real te someday. Also the so so drafting has been killer. Elam may not be a bust yet but if you had a feeling it would take 4 years before the light went on maybe draft a corner more suited to zone. it feels like the whole team is searching for that groove they were in and just can't quite find it. I'm not an expert but it feels like they're done. It's time to look to the offseason and think about this mini rebuild they're heading into. Seriously consider if mcd and/or beane are the guys to get us over this hump. At the same token remember terry hired rex so maybe better off leaving that alone. He also hired ralph so it could be worse but it feels so crappy watching the chiefs dolpins bengals amass legit talent while it we just tread water. anyways end of rant just an observation but does it seem like we always play the chiefs away?
  5. wow ya hes gotta go. 3 points? 3 points? this isn't a one off. big enough sample size.
  6. for josh its pretty simple. he's his own worst enemy. this game required a patient methodical mistake free approach. It goes against his very nature but he just needs to reset and just do some very simple things we all know he has to do in order to be successful. First of stop taking those hits. Slide or run out of bounds. Second just take the easy completion and trust in your teammates. Let them help you. Ie stop with the hero ball. Josh you are the franchise and you are irreplaceable. It was one play and rodgers was done for the year. please stop unnecessarily putting yourself in harms way.
  7. A lot. I don't know how much input McD has into the defensive game plan but it sucks. It only works if you can apply pressure and stop the run i guess. But they don't get pressure. The get gashed for big runs every other game. It starts with the line on both side and they both simply suck compared to say the niners, eagles, chiefs, bengals etc etc. I don't care about the stupid grading system i can see whats happening on the field. They can't run because they can't block. Josh runs... because they can't block. We can't apply meaningful pressure so they keep picking 3rd down after third down. This is a team with some serious flaws. They aren't on josh's rookie contract and they pick at the back so they are screwed in that way. This window is slammed shut and they seriously need a mini rebuild/overhaul. This isn't about 13 seconds or getting mauled by the bengals. Those are just symptoms of a much bigger problem that manifests itself at the worst times. I hope McD steps back and looks at both sides and just give it the eye test. They don't look good.
  8. its true our pass rush is ineffective. Watching the 49ers d its plain to see our defense needs an overhaul. I myself am pretty calm too. I'm not confident we can win this game and this is just be objective. This team all year is like an engine with a misfire or dead cylinder. In some ways not making the superbowl might be a blessing because i think whoever emerges from the AFC probably will get steamrolled.
  9. the injuries keep piling up. von is gone for the pats game. josh is not 100 percent. dane jackson is highway 30. no hyde. at this point gutting it out and even getting to the playoffs is an accomplishment.
  10. recovery must be taking longer than expected. most aren't the same until 2 years after the surgery. i've had a torn acl with a partial in my mcl and torn cartilage. I can't imagine doing the cuts an stressful moves hes gonna have to do so soon. My best to tre. Come back when you're ready.
  11. this has a real bad feel to it. this might be the kind of loss that sends this team spiraling and ends with heads rolling. 17 owns these 2 losses and I don't know if he can ever get his head right. he looks like he's losing confidence and that can't ever be restored once a qb loses it at this level. might be time to start reevaluating the composition of this team. for instance the o line is subpar they can't run block and that's with kromer coaching them. a d that almost never blitzes and is overly reliant on poyer and Hyde who seem to be breaking down now. will tre white ever be anywhere what he was? it feels like the writing is on the wall and it's only a matter of who is getting axed.
  12. I too can't watch replays of those superbowl losses. Even to this day its too painful to watch. Especially the first one. Even the recent playoff losses at KC sting too much. Not just the Bills. Sabres cup final was devastating.
  13. as a little kid i remember flashes of oj simpson on the tv. I really became a fan when they lost to the chargers in 80. But those 90s team really have a special place. It was magical. Something i really wish i took the time to appreciate. This team with 17 feels like that but better. Jim had thurman and a running game that wasn't an afterthought. Josh does what he does without a HOF running back. I hope he runs less. I hope he starts to slide more. I cringe every time he runs. He makes it special like the 90s teams. They didn't influence my love for the team as much as they set a bar.
  14. statistically the no. 1 defense playing against some really putrid offenses. YOu have to really look at how they played against better teams. They have/had a real problem getting gashed for big gains on the run game. the pats game in the wind was the prime example of not being able to stop the run. They couldn't even slightly slow down kc which other teams like the bengals were able to accomplish.
  15. Consider that mahomes plays behind an oline that is demonstably better than the one josh plays behind. He has all the time in the world and a nice clean pocket. Also Josh already got that treatment this year and he learned to evolve and take what is given. Take the easy completion. Know when to take your shots. I just wish he would start sliding more. I cringe everytime he takes a hit.
  16. i can't remember the last time i watched the pro bowl. i think its well past its time. maybe not play the game but the free trip to hawaii i guess. although with what josh makes meh.
  17. i think it depends on the player. see it from their perspective. if you're someone who knows they are here for the long term like josh than ya it hurts you're invested. But if you're just hanging onto a roster spot not knowing where or if you're gonna be on a team from season to season i can't imagine you would be that devastated. Just human nature. Obviously as a fan thats lived through 4 straight and no goal this just sucks. Honestly though i think the long term suckage by the bills until recently and no goal just kinda killed something inside of me. I do celebrate but not like before. just like this game. I knew they would find a way to lose. the bigger the moment the greater the likelihood of bills f**kup. Its so buffalo. Lately I've been dreading game day more than looking forward to the experience. I feel relieved when the games are over like when a visit to the dentist is done. I know not healthy but thats what that much failure does to you i guess.
  18. this d sucks. its constructed poorly with a raft of guys who can't get to the qb against good offensive lines. frazier mcdermott beane and his staff are to blame for this defense. the ratings are bs because of all the crappy teams they played. its now time to clean house starting with frazier and reconstruct a d capable of getting good teams off the field. this isn't a one off thing. for the last 3 seasons we can't get off the field. they are the reason we lost to the patriots, titans, chiefs, etc. they can't stop getting gashed. don't get to the qb. the way frazier runs his d doesn't work. its time to go a different direction dc wise and personnel wise.
  19. i agree. aside from allen and diggs zero impact players. this is a losing team without him. allen is marino. a qb without a team. carrying the team on his shoulders. a mediocre overrated defense that wilts in the big moments. we have to change this history of drafting middling talent. we have no tyreek hill or kelce. this team as a whole doesn't deserve to be mentioned with the 90s teams. they've fallen repeatedly in the big moments when its close. josh has learned he has to be super human on a weekly basis and thats not sustainable.
  20. In the immediate aftermath I feel just really really drained and just defeated. the immediate reaction is to call for fraziers head. i agree but not for just this performance. Against good teams this defense has been gashed and run up and down the field over and over. the front four is deficient and unable to generate sufficient pressure on their own. i realize i don't even enjoy game day anymore. i dread it like a visit to the dentist.i its a stressful experience which i endure on a weekly basis. i sit there my blood pressure skyrocketing, pulse pounding. palms sweating. i do not have fun one tiny bity. i don't even know why i do this just that its part of my dna of being born in buffalo. i dont want to care but i do and it sucks. it becomes traumatic when you're subjected to heartbreaking loss after loss. there is never a reward at the end and probably never will be. thats probably the part that really gets me is that i know this thing is cursed so im rooting for a team that will always disappoints and thats not healthy.
  21. wow that sucks for him. he won't be right for like 2 years.
