  1. Last I knew it didn't matter where a compliment came from as long as it was genuine.
  2. That's a nice thought but the rest of the team isn't a whole lot better. The OL is atrocious. The defense is terrible. The DL either is too small or hasn't grasped the scheme yet. The Fletcher better get much bigger if he hopes to survive behind the DL. Spikes is probably done. Few players come back fully after an injury like that. Clements is gone thankfully after this season. McGee, Whitner, and Simpson are definite question marks but should get better with palying time. McGahee suffers from mediocirity and the OL. Evans can't beat double teams yet. and the other side WRs are pretty much useless. I think it is clear that it isn't all about Losman. So far he has looked like a rookie QB. Whether or not he has shown enough to start beyond the 12th or 13th game remains to be seen.
  3. Best player available. It doesn't make a whole heck of a lot of difference. The talent level on this team is so low almost every position could use an upgrade.
  4. Fortunately, some team will over pay for Clements and their fans can have the unfortunate view of him on their team. Clements is gone. Thank goodness.
  5. I don't think there is anyone else at this point. However I think Losman has proven he doesn't have what it takes, at least for now. He clearly is not ready to be a starting QB in the NFL. He might be someday though. I would try to find a decent proven QB in free agency this offseason and make him the starter next year. Losman or Nall can sit on the bench and watch for 2 or 3 years and then see what we have. It may take that long to get the defense ready to compete in the NFL.
  6. JP gets the benefit of the doubt for the Chicago game. The Detroit game is what concerns me. He showed nothing, absolutely nothing redeeming against Detroit. yes the OL is very bad, but if he is to be the anointed one JP has to show some playmaking ability that actually makes a difference. Not 20 yard pass plays after a scramble on the Bills 30 yard line, but 20 yard pass plays after a scramble on the opponents 20 yard line. I guess you can write all of his bad play off to the OL, but I don't think it is that cut and dried.
  7. Barkley can be a blowhard at times but his comments on Terrible Owens last night were right on. If only there were more candid announcers it would be much more interesting to listen to them.
  8. Nope. I wouldn't trade a bag of pucks for Randy Moss. Big time loser in my opinion. I don't see where he makes the teams he plays for any better and I'm betting he is a cancer in the lockerroom, the field, the tunnel and the parking lot.
  9. That is a long article but well worth every minute. I would love to see him in a Bills uniform.
  10. If a week ago someone had said that we would lose by two points to NE I would have thought that was a good outcome. However what is frustrating is how they actually lost the game. No adjustments after halftime, too many stupid penalties, not playing smart, unable to gain a yard on 4th down, the poor play of the defense, etc. The bottom line is NE didn't play well either and the Bills were worse. Yes there were some bright spots, but they played pretty much as expected. They were better but this just isn't a good team yet.
  11. I expect that the Bills will lose. I'm hoping for two things: 1) that they are competitive and don't get blown out and 2) that I'm wrong. Beating NE in NE at their home opener is a tall task even if Buffalo was in the same solar system as far as talent. I just don't think it will happen. I'm hoping the Bills hang tough and make it a game. That would be a huge success over last season and a good start to this season.
  12. Only if several Buffalo players have career seasons and either Miami or New England have a debilitating rash of injuries. This team just isn't that good or talented. The defense will be porous even if Spikes can come back 100% (highly doubtful). Fletcher no longer has the luxury of having tackles tie up two or three blockers so he can make his jubilant tackles 5 yards downfield. On offense it's probably a mixed bag. Teams will key on the running game until Losman shows he can make them pay via the pass. Not likely very often. I just don't see it this year. The planets would have to align and global warming would need to be accepted as scientific fact by the oil companies before this team has a good year this year. I'm betting on next year as the Bills year. This year is rebuilding year 1.
  13. So far the league's best running back has been somewhat pedestrian in his accomplishments on the field and somewhat extraordinary in his proclamations off the field. So until he shows it on the field let's remain skeptical. Not that I liked Henry a whole lot when he was here, I think so far Henry was a better back.
  14. Moulds is gone and whatever we got in return is better than having him here. We didn't win with him and we can lose without him just as well. He didn't want to be here, goodbye. Why keep him around? Let him play out his last few years where he is somebody else's problem. He was a good receiver, he still a decent receiver, but he wasn't going to help this team much this year or next year.
  15. I'll take Thurman for the following reasons. - more versatile, better receiver, better blocker. - not much drop off in yardage from Simpson. - Salary not as big of percentage of team salary as simpson. This allowed the Bills to fill other spots with high salaried players. - more consistent. Thurman always got 3-7 yards and a cloud of dust. Simpson might break the 90 yarder, but he also might not get the 3 yards needed. when the simpson bills teams needed 3 yards they often gave it to Braxton.
  16. Every position except for players brought in through free agency who will start and Moorman. Everybody else should be trade bait. This team was very bad last year and until they prove it on the field I don't see where they are that much better.
  17. Ummm....Since Buffalo is in dire straits right now, being better than Buffalo isn't much. Which is exactly what Rochester has, not much. It's a minor league city that thinks even smaller and is incapable of ever righting itself. The Fast Ferry being the prime example. Millions of dollars spent on something that's sole realistic purpose was to transport Rochesterians to someplace else to spend money with no chance of enough Torontonians coming to Rochester to offset the outflux. And whose idea was this, The City of Rochester whose residents mostly fall under the poverty line and could not afford to utilize the service. That is the kind of thinking in Rochester. Rochester's idea for new events is a week long Jazz festival that is both poorly attended and impossible to find. But your right, if Buffalo is a 1 out of 10, Rochester is probably a 2 out of 10.
  18. I hope Marv is looking for his replacement. Given his attitude, agent and lack of ability to regain his college explosiveness they might need the replacement sooner rather than later. This year will probably tell for sure. Any knee problems that exist now probably will never go away and the line shouldn't be as bad as previous years. This will give McGahee a chance to actually show he is the best back in the league.
  19. To steal a line, "Nobody circles the wagons better than Buffalo." Now with McKee possibly out the wagons are circled tighter than ever. I'm thinking we got 'em right where we want 'em. The Canes are backed into a corner in their building, with everyone expecting Buffalo to fold due to injuries and the prospect that the Canes will look mighty foolish should they lose on their own ice. Buffalo and Carolina already had one stare down and Carolina blinked. I'm thinking they make it two in a row.
  20. Ok...cut the Malarkey!!! What did he say??
  21. So what???? This guy will be lucky to be an NFL player and the Bills pick him 8th. The Broncos just traded the 15th and their 3rd for the Rams 11th. We could've made that trade and still picked a better player than Whitner!!!!! and had an additional 3rd. Justice, bunkley, ngata are still on the board. With so many holes to fill it shouldn't be difficult to find a player to help now at 15. Who would have thought the Bills would blow the 8th pick in the draft.
  22. All I can say is GO RALPH!!! A new stadium, in the right location (which downtown Buffalo is not), could be a very good thing for the region. There are X dollars every year that are targeted for this type of funding at both the state and federal level. If the Buffalo region doesn't make use of it, another region will. That is a fact. If you don't like it, you need to vote in new politicians. As I understand the agreement (and I am sure several people will correct me if I misunderstand) I believe Ralph is absolutely right! Each year of this agreement the small market teams get further and further behind in revenue. The big market teams were relatively smart in designing this agreement. They were able to reduce the amount they pay out of their revenues and increase the amount the small market teams have to pay out of theirs. If I have more money to spend than you, I can force you into financial problems by increasing the amount you have to spend. It was a win-win allright, for the big market teams only Forget about the salary cap. There are creative ways around the cap if you have extra money to utilize.
  23. If Leinart or Cutler fall to #8, I hope the Bills seriously consider taking one of them. However, I would not trade up to get one of them, especially if it required more draft picks. This team has so many holes to fill they need each and every draft pick they have.
  24. If I am Levy and Jauron and am less than 50% sure that JP will succeed, I jump on leinart or cutler if they fall to 8. This Bills team has little or no shot at the playoffs next year. Losman can be attributed to the previous regime and Levy & Jauron suffer nothing if he fails. With cutler or leinart they now have their man at the helm and can go forward. I believe losman is done with the Bills. Seeing the lack of commitment and the lack of support for losman in their statements leads me to believe they are not confident that losman has what it takes. This year is the perfect year to get a new QB in the draft. A rookie QB will have little or no impact on the team missing the playoffs since the team is in such poor shape and probably can't make it with Brady or Manning. If they wait another year to bring in the QB of the future then they take a chance that the rest of the team is ready to make the playoffs and the QB isn't. That would put team development another year behind. If Lienart or Cutler are there, get er done Marv.
  25. I hope they would listen to any immediate trade offers for the pick and failing that they should take him. I'm not sold on McGahee on anything more than a Travis Henry type back. When push comes to shove he seems to take a side step. Bush has something McGahee probably never will, he makes people miss. That is important as a RB.
