  1. Every time Henry opens his mouth he sticks his whole leg in it. Why would anyone believe anything the guy says or his agent for that matter? If they had a lick of sense, they would sit patiently and realize that there is no possibility that the Bills bring Henry back. Henry spouting off only weakens the Bills position and makes it more difficult to work something out.
  2. It would have been nice to keep Williams and Jennings. However, not at the money they got elsewhere. That's one of the downsides to free agency. Other teams can overpay for another teams players. Prioleau, who cares. Bledsoe, it was time to move on.
  3. Haven't you heard... PETA says that eating tasty animals causes gas which hurts the ozone and both of those contribute to global warming. Now global warming is causing the earth to cool which causes longer and colder winters which causes the ice shelf to fall apart and cool and dilute the atlantic ocean which will cause the salinity of the ocean to be lower. This has the effect on the ocean currents which mix eveything up to slow down, therefore causes the temperatures in Europe to cool, or not, over the next millenium. This causes the Bills players in Europe NFL to not play as well and get the experience they need so they can come back and play for the bills. There fore Drew through several interceptions leading to his release. It's similar to the 7 separations of Kevin Spacey or something. Yes today has been a long week.
  4. Absolutely not!!!!! JJ isn't worth that kind of money based on what he has done so far. That kind of deal could have strapped the Bills for several years.
  5. Unfortunately, it costs at least double to take the ferry over and saves no time. I was going to take the ferry, but it shut down before we could. I'd ride it once and that's about all. I also heard yesterday that they expect ticket prices will be even higher when it starts running again. I find it amazing that the mayor of Rochester so fully supports something that most of his constituents will never be able to afford to use.
  6. I agree with this. Losing PW wouldn't be the end of the world. In fact if PW isn't signed there is the possibility of picking up a FA who does just as well for the same or less money. While the draft is very important to the success of a team, FA are used to fill the gaps or to get that player you haven't been able to draft. Give Anderson a chance. After all the QB position has been entrusted to a second year player.
  7. It is another case of a city trying to spend its way out of depression. The best thing to do would be go abandon the cities as they are no longer necessary and serve no purpose. It will be another white elephant just like most everyother project Rochester has done in the last 40 years.
  8. I would never hesitate to buy a dell. I've purchased, installed and worked on hundreds of them as well as several other brands. Of the name brands, IBM, compaq, HP, etc., Dell is by far the most straight forward and easiest to work on. For my own use I prefer to build my own. Is it any better or cheaper, probably not in the short term. When I want to upgrade I can replace the components and I know exactly what is in it for troubleshooting. When you want to upgrade a name brand system, you buy a new one and get rid of the old one. Of course if you are not technically savvy or willing to pay extra for local retailers, Dells prices are as good as any.
  9. Great place to visit. Unfortunately, I stayed. Rent a limo or taxi, lots of dwi stops here, and drive to Buffalo or Niagara Falls. You'll have a much better time. Just kidding................
  10. Turn the clock back 10-12 years and give me Frank Reich. IMHO he is the perfect backup QB. No I must start ego. Cerebral, understands the game. Good enough to give you a chance to win a game with a weeks preparation, but probably couldn't carry the whole season. Good work ethic, nice guy and can be constantly in Losman's ear giving him advice. find someone like that today. I don't know who that is though.
  11. Or to put it another way picking Losman cost the Bills a 1st, 2nd and 5th.
  12. I try to read Weiler's articles but have a very tough time getting past all the name calling. It adds nothing to his articles yet he continues to do it. It makes appear to be a Jim Rome or Chucky Dickerson clone. Niether of which is good, IMHO. Both of which have succumbed to the name calling in the thought that it embellishes their opinions.
  13. I'd rather think about.............. Tara or Rahda, and the winner is............. Tara!
  14. I'm on over protective father and damn proud of it. Why am I overprotective? Because the downside far outweighs the upside. What they miss by me not letting my kids go places I don't think they should by themselves is so insignificant compared to the possible harm to them. They have lots of time to learn independence to that degree. At one time I thought like you did. Then I had kids. It changes your whole perspective. I don't think the world is any more dangerous than it was 20 or 30 years ago, the bad is publicized much better by a state controlled media now. It is more dangerous than it was 40 or 50 years ago though. I also live in a more dangerous area than I did when growing up. And I remember arguing with my parents about going out with others my age during my early and mid teens just like kids do today.
  15. Add one more that was told to me by a college kicker (ok it's a kicker take it for what it is worth). Norwood made a good kick just like he had many times before. He hit it perfectly straight and long enough. Usually a kick like that will curve back into the uprights, especially from a right footed kicker. this guy said the main reason that kick missed was that Reich didn't spin the ball enough when he set it down. When Norwood struck the ball the laces were to the right of center and the ball couldn't curve left. Had the laces been dead center or left of center the ball curves left and probably goes through. Now don't shoot the messenger I can't kick a ball straight to save my life. And it was a kicker telling me this. I just found it fascinating when I heard it.
  16. Guy gets called into the other room by his wife whose all upset and crying. Guy: "Dear, what is the matter?" Wife: "I've been working on this puzzle for over two hours and I am so frustrated. It's supposed to be a tiger or some kind of cat, but I can't find any pieces that fit together. I can't even find an edge piece to get started with." Guy: "It's ok, honey. Let's calm down. Let's go in the kitchen, sit down, have some tea, and maybe a bite to eat. And then when you've calmed down we'll come back and I will help you pick up the frosted flakes."
  17. I played a blank vcr tape tonight. It drove the mime next door nuts.
  18. I've had an Axim for about 2 years. I use it for calendar, notes, games, other programs, etc. Works great and have never had a problem with it. Battery life is great. I can charge it in the car on the way to work if need be. I sync it with Outlook.
  19. A lot of those who say Drew should go offer the option of Losman or anybody else. Well it seems that we just saw the Bills win 9 games with Drew and miss the playoffs by one game. Losman is a complete unknown. He has had virtually no playing time. Anybody else is also a complete unknown. So it seems there are two options: Drew and complete unknow. Until someone defines a second option that is something other than unknown I'd stick with Drew and be looking for what is next. If Drew is cut, we are left heading into the season with a rook or To Be Determined. And don't even talk about Losman being the next Roethlisberger. For every Roeth there are hundreds of Akili Smiths, Mannings, etc. No team can take that big of a chance unless they are writing the season off.
  20. This is pretty simple. If you wrote, "as is, where is" or something to that effect on the receipt the buyer has no case. If you did not, the buyer can make a case and you are at the mercy of the lawyers and the courts. You might win or they might win. One sure thing... The lawyers will talk alot, the lawyers will get paid and you will be several hundred dollars lighter.
  21. that's a pretty weak argument. Defense - D wins. But ours hasn't proven it is SB caliber yet. In fact it might just be the achilles heal. RB - Every team that wins the super bowl has a good or great back. Can't do without one. Is McGahee a great back, we'll know next year. WR - We have one good recvr and one good rookie recvr. Hardly SB material, but might be next year, but most likely two years from now. Just take a look at the winning QBs over the last many years. Its at about 50/50 between star/caretaker. Brady - A star last year yes. Johnson - caretaker Brady - rookie caretaker Ravens - Dilfer? caretaker. Rams - Warner star. Broncos - Elway caretaker retired after the game. Broncos - Elway caretaker. Green Bay - favre star. Dallas - Aikman star 49ers - Young star Dallas - aikman star Dallas - aikman star Redskins - I forget his name, not quite a star but did have a very good year. Giants - Hostetler caretaker. It easier to find a caretaker than to create a star. The biggest drain Drew causes the Bills is that for his production he is overpaid. We can probably find a QB to play as well, but cost less (not figuring the cap hit of releasing Drew). The money difference can be applied to upgrading other positions. That is at least one way and maybe the easiest way to get to the SB. Caretaker QB and money savings invested in other positions on the team.
  22. The current OL is constructed wrong. On defense the big guys are in the middle and the fast guys are on the outside. I would love to see LT - Teague LG - Williams C - Jennings RG - Villarial RT - Fill in the blanks FA, etc. Now there's some beef up the middle to handle the big tackles. Teague is a gamer but doesn't quite have enough lead to handle the good, big tackle.
  23. Well I don't agree with you on the defense. 3rd string running back don't get 100 yds. against great defenses. Next time I have a cat scan I'll ask them to verify the half a brain.
  24. Fletcher - Let's see...He makes a ton of tackles....6 yards down field. He makes at least one stupid play per game. Every other game he makes one great play and everybody forgets about the other stuff. Clements - Yep that was a great attempted pick off he made on 4th and so far you thought they had no chance to pick it up in the Jacksonville game. Tendency to fumble at the most inopportune time. He never comes up with the big play when you need it, only when everything else is going well. It is pretty hard to give up the long ball when everyone is throwing the long ball at the rook on the other side. Schobel is a keeper as a right defensive end not right. The Bills have a good defense, but their "star" players are just flawed enough to keep them from getting far in the playoffs.[ quote=34-78-83,Jan 4 2005, 02:19 PM] Fletcher - Let's see... there is likely ONE middle/inside linebacker playing better than he this season in the AFC and that's Farrior. Clements - 6 picks, knack for getting to the endzone, did not get beat deep hardly at all this season. Get rid of him! I'll give you the pass rushing end, although Schobel is a complete player. 192704[/snapback]
  25. Ahhh....The defensive apologists surface. Until they replace Fletcher, possibly Clements and find a pass rushing end, this defense will be good but never good enough.
