  1. Before the season started I figured 8-8 would be good. New coach, new offense, etc. at 0-4 I figured at best 3-13 and was cringing at the thought of Dallas getting that first round pick. After the 2nd Jets game I thought maybe they were on to something. After the NE debacle I was ready to look to next year. After St. Louis and Seattle there was hope again. After last week I thought we had a pretty good chance of getting in to the playoffs. And.... After today I realized... Drew isn't the answer, nor is Fletcher nor is Moulds nor is Lindell Josh Reed needs to be all world next preseason or he's history does Posey still play? we need one more good offensive lineman and a 3rd down pass rusher and I'm not sure about Henry I realized we are an 8-8 team that needs some work, but there is much hope for next year with a few personnel moves.
  2. If you don't think it could be any worse, you haven't watched much football. Worse? Shane Mathews would be worse. There is a reason he was out of football when we picked him up. There is a reason he was never a starter for long. Worse? JP Losman. Everybody knows he's not ready. Probably won't be next year either. Worse? Joe Dufek, Vince Ferragamo, Billy Joe, Todd Collins, Bill Munson, etc. etc. etc. If you're going to call for a replacment, at least have some clue about who the replacement is going to be. Don't just shout as loud as you can Drew must go! Propose a "realistic" option. Drew probably isn't the answer, but so far you haven't come up with a realistic better answer either.
  3. In my dream... Game in NE, Bills play good game and Lawyer Milloy picks off Brady for winning touchdown!!!!! then my wife hits me because I am snoring too loud again.
  4. That the Bills will finish 10-6 or 9-7 with a great deal of hope for next year.
  5. It certainly is not a slam dunk that a college coach joins the pro ranks and succeeds. I don't know the percentages, but I'm guessing that it is less than 50-50 that a college coach succeeds in his first pro job.
  6. If I'm any other playoff team, I don't want to play Buffalo. They are able to beat teams with defense, special teams and offense (not neccessarily in that order). And Buffalo plays "playoff" football. Great defense, run the ball, play action pass, a QB who can through the long ball occassionally, and lastly one of the best punters in the league. If only they can get in the playoffs.........
  7. It appears that the TE on the roster can block. That's all that matters. The TE's have only been an afterthought all year except for one game. The far bigger concern is McGahee's knee. If he is out beyond this week, the slim chance of making the playoffs just got much, much smaller.
  8. I haven't missed the NHL much yet. I will in Januarya and February when football is over. Even so I hope the owners hold out. The NHL has no future with its current salary structure and it seems the only way for the players to realize that is for the owners to stand fast. I especially liked the comment by the player, "whatever it takes...1, 2 even 5 years..." Buddy, after 1 year the NHL is in jeapordy of never appearing again. 5 years? Who would care! And during that time, what jobs will the players be working at.
  9. Nickname from high school. short for respirator. Was playing in a basketball game while recovering from a cold right after a bout of asmtha. during a timeout along the sidelines a buddy yelled out asking if I needed a respirator or if I could make it through the rest of the game. The name stuck. I threw the K on because one place I tried to use Resp it was already taken.
  10. The Bills will be far better off if Drew can play well enough to finish the season. JP's lack of practice and his play makes it unquestionable that it would be a mistake to start him this year. It might even be a mistake to rely on him next year as the starter. Like it or not it cannot be argued at this time, and for the foreseeable future, that Drew is the best option. If we need to turn to JP, all hope is lost for this season. Several teams in the league prove week after week that a star QB is not needed to win. In fact it just might be a detriment.
  11. Yeah right TD should have traded and then McGahee doesn't come back fully and you maroons would be saying that TD was dumb to trade henry. Henry's trade value will be the same in the offseason next year as it was a week ago. A 2nd or 3rd rounder most likely. A broken leg isn't a big injury, nothing like a knee or neck/back injury.
  12. You're right. So was the on sides kickoff to start the second half. I think the Bills play calling is so screwy that Seattle doesn't have a clue. It sure is fun to watch!
  13. Some of the calls the Bills coaches make are just unbelievable. All I can say is Mularkey must feel very comfortable or very unsafe in his job. The best thing about their play calling is it makes the game very interesting and secondly the plays are working this time. I don't ever remember seeing a fake QB sneak before. Especially with the least mobile QB in the league.
  14. People for Eating Tasty Animals just never seems to get it. There probably was one or less persons who actually understand what People for Eating Tasty Animals was protesting about. Everybody else who saw it will remember that an old lady was dressed up as a tampon and make no connection to testing on animals. They are so full of themselves they have no idea how to get their message across, thankfully in reality.
  15. I have coached (basketball, baseball) or umpired for more than 20 years, all volunteer. In all those years I have never had a problem with a kid. Sure they might complain a little over a call, but it has quickly stopped. In all those years I have only had 2 or 3 runins with parents. So I think most of the parents are good and those that aren't get most of the "press". One coach threatened to whoop my butt between innings of a babe ruth baseball game. He didn't try when I told him it would be my pleasure to let him trye. Not the smartest thing to say, but he kept his mouth shut the rest of the game and never left the bench. He was banned from the league for the rest of the year. The worst sport seems to be football. I remember going to high school football games as a teenager in a very small town. The team hadn't had a winning season in at least 25 years. Not even close. Yet on the sidelines were the adults, who grew up in the town losing all those games, yelling at the current coach (who had played college ball) and the players, some of them their own kids, all kinds of stuff. It was unbelievable. I vowed I would never treat any kid that way.
  16. I've said it before the beef has to be in the middle and the athlete on the outside. Assuming they can sign Jennings. LT - Teague LG - Williams C - Jennings or FA RG - Villarial RT - FA/Rookie Bannan pushes Williams at LG since I don't think Williams has the heart for it.
  17. I'm expecting a HUGE game from the OLine this week against the Jets. I just saw the pancake block Bannan made on the touchdown. I don't remember the last time I saw the OLine get a block like that especially in a crucial situation like that. I'm hoping McNally plays that sequence over and over and over for them to see. I'm hoping they have night mares over that block by a defensive lineman no less.
  18. I was hoping the Red Sox could save baseball from another boring World Series with the Yankees. It appears that they can't.
  19. TD has at least 3 years before he is fired no matter what. The franchise is in the best shape it has been in a long time. The stadium is filled, but more importantly the suites are filled. RW has never listened to the fans much, thank goodness. The product on the field will improve and the Bills will make the playoffs. Probably not this year or next though. TD will be here then as will Mularkey. A more likely and immediate move is to see a lot of player turnover. There are two many players who are overrated on this team for it to ever win a SB. However, were I the owner I would be having serious and very loud discussions with Mularkey after comments he made concerning RW's comments after the Jets game. When the owner talks everyone below him better be taking it very seriously no matter how they view.
  20. It will be a long time before Tom Donahoe is canned. The results may not show on the field, but it does in the stands. The franchise has never been in better shape. The results on the field will most likely get better. I don't expect this team to make the playoffs the next three years at least. TD will be the president and GM when they do though.
  21. They very well good be 2-1. But it wouldn't matter. At the end of the year they would still have the same 6-10 or 7-9 record. This team just isn't Super Bowl caliber yet and there is a first year coach. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if this team doesn't make the playoffs the next three years! Anyone who expects more than just 8-8 out of this team is kidding themselves.
  22. You have that right. Fletcher misses assignments, makes stupid mistakes but comes up with 1 play every two or three games behind the line of scrimmage. He has 200 tackles every year, 180 or which are 5 or 6 yards downfield. I hope we can find some better soon.
  23. You haven't been around much. 1973 was worse for instance. Several teams in the 70's and a couple in the 80s were worse. You really must no more of what you are talking about before you spout off.
  24. We need Howard!!!!!!!!!! I try to listen to The Dope and the Poodle on the drive, but man is it hard. They have no clue and no new topics. And then there is the reporter affectionately known as Sully (aka John Goodman in Monsters, Inc.) Once in awhile you would think the guy could find someting good to talk about, but almost every article and discussion is negative. And to top that off he thinks he represents the "fans". Yo Sully....In no way shape or form do you represent me the "fan". You don't even come close.
