  1. Actually I think they do get it. You can't successfully run the ball if the defense doesn't think your QB is capable. How Losman (or Holcomb) goes, so goes the Bills playoff chances.
  2. You have a better chance of dying from a falling coconut than a shark attack.
  3. 1) have pregnant wife take friend. 2) Drop wife and friend at one end of main street. 3) Immediately head for Canadian ballet. 4) Pick up wife and friend at other end of main street sometime later.
  4. Twin Hills is a very nice, well kept course and so far here it has been described pretty well. A slightly better test might be Deerfield about 5 minutes away. Play what they used to call the north and south nines. More challenging. I haven't played there in awhile and I know they have new owners.
  5. Cruise handled the situation very extremely calmly I thought. I don't think I could have handled it as well. I would have the guy by the neck and assisted him over the crowd control fence that separated them. And I wouldn't have worried about being gentle either. That is just unbelievable that someone would do something so stupid as that. And to those that think it was just fine. The next time you are at your place of work or shopping in WalMart or taking a stroll in the park just imagine if a total stranger came up to you and sprayed something in your face. I bet most of you would have a problem with that.
  6. I wouldn't take a 5 year old. There were two times in the movie I wished I hadn't taken my 7 year old. Quite frankly, the movie isn't as good as I had hoped it would be. The first hour is too slow. Hayden Christiansen doesn't act very well, but that could be due to Lucas. The guy who plays Palpatine is excellent though.
  7. I had my first opportunity to listen to Simon's show since he moved to WGR yesterday. Simon has fallen a long way, but I think that is due more to the policies of WGR than to simon himself. They have to get rid of the side kick. What a moron! The guy pretends to be Jim Rome, why I will never know, and he's not very good at it. He makes arguments that support the other side of the discussion not his. Granted it is a slow time of year, but the side kick has got to go. No clue whatsoever. Simon gave up trying to carry the guy along time ago it appears.
  8. The last two years I have taken the kids to a AAA baseball game. They have a program called baseball buddies. The kids can wear their uniforms (shirts at least) and get to go down on the field. They introduce the kids on the team before the game, they go out to each infield position and stand with the players during the anthem and they get a hat. The manager came around and talked to each kid while they were waiting. The kids get in for free and you can take as many people as you want at the group ticket rate. You might see if a team in your area has such a thing. As to parents who complain: Every year there is one parent who complains about something. Last year I had a guy who didn't like the way i ran practice, the game, the batting order, the position where his kid was playing, etc. I asked him to help out once and he refused. Finally I had had enough. I pulled him aside and told him, "You are making it fairly obvious that you don't like the way I do things and quite frankly I don't care. The difference between you and me is I'm volunteering 3 nights a week for the 12 kids (7 & 8 year olds) on the team and you're setting on your fat a$$ doing absolutely nothing useful except complaining about your kid having to play right field for one inning. Either take your kid and go home or STFU." His kid was at the next game and I never heard another word from him. I think he blew me in to the head of the baseball league, but no one ever said anything to me.
  9. Other than Clements, Moulds, and Teague do any of them really matter at this point? In fact in the era of FA they all can be replaced. The rest are simply backups at this point. Clements: probably gone no matter what. Moulds: It might be better to let him go and sign his replacement from FA. Teague: Not irreplaceable, depends on the dollars.
  10. Looks like Tenny is the only one looking at Travis and they are only offering a 5th or 6th. Get it done TD. 348681[/snapback] I'm glad you're not negotiating any deals. A good negotiator will know when to hang on and when to do the deal. Now is not the time, unless the deal is right, to move Henry. There are hundreds of possibility oppotunities to trade Henry before the season starts. Every time a 1st string running back on another team runs a play in every practice is an opportunity for an injury and a team to come knocking on the door. If henry is still on the team by the trade deadline, then maybe Danohoe has made the wrong move. Until then he is absolutely right to hang on to him.
  11. For those that have seen the movie. How graphic is it and should kids ages 7 to 10 see it?
  12. One word....Don't. Rochester will have the economic conditions of Buffalo in 10 years or less. As with most cities, the politicians are more interested in padding their ego, and pockets, and less interested in making the difficult changes necessary to have any chance of rising from the ashes. The city has tied its long term recovery to developing and redeveloping the same areas with the same bars and restaurants with name changes. There is no ingenuity nor any common sense in what is done. The economy never has recovered and is based almost exclusively on service industries. A failure waiting to happen, not a long term solution. The downtown area is very safe as everyone there goes home after 5pm. The city is small and thinks small. They refurbished an age old arena with used seats instead of building anew, as most cities do, even when the money was readily available. They built a very nice AAA baseball stadium only to leave the roof off of most of it. The soccer team has started a soccer stadium that will only be a shell unless the additional funding they are now requesting is approved. Their are some activities and some decent areas, but remember this is a small city. The "Park Avenue" area is but a few blocks. Lake Ontario is virtually ignored. The best beach is never legally open to the public. The beach that is opened is situated in such a way that it has to be closed most of the time during the summer as swimming is deemed to be unsafe due to pollution. Rochester does have one good thing and that is its location. It is easy to get out of the place to other places. The finger lakes, syracuse, niagara falls and buffalo are all about an hour to 90 minutes away. Easy day trips. Summers are nice, but last only July and August hopefully. The rest of the year is cloudy punctuated with the cheers and rejoicing of the populace when a ray of sunshine peeks through. Dreary, well its not the northwest, but borders on in it climate wise. Some say Rochester is what you make of it. They are right. The problem is in other places it takes a matter of minutes for you to make something of it. In Rochester it takes hours to make something of it. JMHO of course.
  13. ah who cares. The No Hockely League is just as likely to never suit up again as it is to. They didn't have any fans before and they will have even fewer if they ever do play again. I missed hockey this winter, but I'm not convinced there is enough brains between all involved to ever come to an agreement on anything.
  14. No. going to a football game should be a family type activity. Having said that it also depends on where you sit or who you have to sit next to. I took my son to his first football game when he was six. He is now 10 going on 11. The football game at the Ralph is the only place I have ever seen my son scared. I took him to the restroom. The kid couldn't get out of there fast enough. We laugh about it now. But at the time he was absolutely terrified.
  15. My kids are 10 & 7 and I'm debating whether to take them to the new star wars or not. They have already seen the other 5, in fact we watched VI this past weekend. III is supposed to be "darker" and more violent than the others so I am still debating it. As someone pointed out the violience in Star Wars has been somewhat "clean", not a lot of blood and guts and graphic slow motion light saber through the heart type stuff. I may go watch it myself first and then decide. Besides if I do that I get to see it twice in the theatre. And to all of you who are passing judgement: No one here has any right to say one way or the other whether the woman is correct in keeping her kids from watching star wars. You don't know her, her kids or anything about them. What you think is proper for your kids doesn't make it proper for anyone else's kids. As in most cases opinions are best left unsaid. But then if we all followed that this board wouldn't exist would it?

  17. First off, it's 40 miles from Buffalo to Batavia and it is 47 miles from Orchard Park to Batavia. Secondly, a central stadium isn't so Rochester people don't have to drive 40 miles. The location makes the commute shorter for people beyond Rochester, out to Syracuse and Albany. If you really think the Buffalo area alone can support an NFL franchise you are living in a fantasy land.
  18. Long term, the only chance the Bills survive in Buffalo is for them to build a stadium near Batavia where it can more easily draw fans from Syracuse and Albany and keep drawing fans from Buffalo, Rochester and Canada. A downtown Buffalo stadium could mean the death of the franchise. Buffalo alone can no longer support the suites and premium seating that is required for an NFL franchise. The area from Toronto to Buffalo to Rochester to Syracuse to Albany probably can. What really needs to be done is to find the center of the population that the Bills can draw from and build a new stadium as close as possible to it. This gives the franchise the largest population to easily draw from. By the way, who lives in downtown Buffalo that the politicians feel it should be easier for them to get to the games? Excellent idea to start planning for a new stadium now and be ready to build in 8-10 years, just not in downtown Buffalo. As to the finances of it all: The only people concerned about not spending the money seem to live in upstate NY. NYC will always be building a new facility at taxpayers expense, why shouldn't upstate NY as well. Upstate seems to think that if they refuse to build a new stadium the money will go to education, reduce taxes, etc. In today's current political climate that is pure fantasy. If upstate doesn't use the money, another part of NY will. At least until voters get smart enough to vote for politicians who change that and the money truly does go for education, reduce taxes, etc. But I don't see that happening anytime soon either.
  19. Ihave always found it ironic that the Hollywood types, whose entire life's work is spent ebing someone else, spend so much time telling the rest of how to live. Why would anyone ever listen to a person who pretends to be someone else most of the time, espouse political and social views?
  20. I think this should be once a week or more if possible. I work with Marcia Brady. She looks, talks and acts like Marcia Brady. She is also a "micromanager" even though she doesn't manage anybody. She feels free to comment on everyone else's work and how it could be done better. All under the disguise of "I'm just here to help." Unfortunately she is a woman so I couldn't ever slap her, but the thought of doing it is what keeps me going on some days. It would be just a short windup, kind of cup the hand to get a good sound. Not too hard, don't want to knock her off her feet. Just hard enough to make her stumble.
  21. Wally world... Try the Scooby Doo or Tazmanian Devil version. My kid caught a 15" bass with it. I only caught blue gills.
  22. It would seem to me the best way for Henry to get his butt out of town would be to keep his mouth shut in public. He just reduced his trade value by spouting off. His agent isn't any smarter it seems. They both fail to realize that Henry has a much better chance of being traded if his trade value is higher. Henry is a good back and deserves to be traded. I hope he goes on and has a long and lustrious career. I just don't want to see anymore stupid statements in interviews to the press.
  23. How many times did they do something other than kick a field goal from that range?
  24. Henry signed the team friendly contract because he was broke. I hope Henry goes some place and gains 1500 yards. He was a good back, but now it appears we have a better one. Every time Henry speaks to the media he simply removes all doubt that he isn't exactly the sharpest knife in the drawer.
