Hold off until any come available? It's not necessarily signing them up now which is the issue either - it's the subsequent cap impact moving forward which may affect the Bills ability over the close season to do so.

"McBeane spends too much on defense. When is Josh going to get weapons? He needs more help. They have to stop focusing on defense." *A crocked LB is released* "SIGN HIM UP!"

Tie would be best. Not sure who's schedule from now on is tougher on paper.

Hill TD. And I'm switching off. 😁

There are too many teams I want to lose today, I can't get invested in Red Zone. Too nerve wracking.

No reason the Bills can't - but at the moment they personify sloppy mediocrity. And that might be being polite.

Who will lead the Bills in sacks this year?
UKBillFan replied to Maine-iac's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sean McDermott. He's already sacked Dorsey, I sense Smiley may not be far behind and then the assistants will start finding it hot. Sorry that's not much of a distraction, is it? Um... Floyd. -

Before Josh was carrying the franchise. For the first time, he needs some in the franchise to carry him, to help get back to his best. Are there the right people within OBD to do so? McDermott has been trying to change his natural approach. Dorsey has been sacked, but was struggling before. Brady has been his QB coach during the wobble. Diggs, who appeared to be one of his closest friends, seemingly has issues with him. I do wonder what the support structure is for Josh within the Bills right now. -

Don't you think, if it was as simple as telling Josh to grow up, they would have already done that and it would have worked? The number of people dismissing Josh's mental health - which, in fairness, may or may not be the issue - just because their sports team has lost a few games. Maybe the phrase "grow up" should be revisited and reconsidered. -

That's fair, but you said "Why didn't he do it before?" That's why. The 2 High Shell approach really seems to be something DCs have brought to the table this year. Josh isn't the only one to be struggling - I'm not sure if any QBs are lighting it up consistently this season. Perhaps that's part of the reason why Josh is still at or near the top on a lot of positive metrics, as well as obviously a couple of major negative ones. -

Because there weren't excessive signs he really needed to last year? Were any of us sitting here in January going "Allen needs to go and live with Brady or Manning"? -

I agree, Josh is struggling mentally. I'm not sure if it's the case that he's uncontrollable though. If he was uncontrollable he'd be doing his own thing on the field, and forget the play calls. He even went out of his way to say he was making the plays as called after the Pats(?) game. -

The issue for me is the apparent accusation, from what's been said, that Josh didn't think he was doing the best thing for the franchise over the close season. Looking after himself was a key component, and I'm sure he felt it was the right thing heading into the season, considering what he (and the rest of the franchise) went through last year, plus his injury which may... or may not... been aggravated since. Now, he could be in a spiral and unable to see a way out of it. Maybe McDermott thinks a short sharp shock, like sacking the OC, will work. Let's hope he's right and it doesn't send him spiralling further if so. -

If he's lost his passion for the game, sneering "grow up" at him will probably not help. -

McDermott is clearly in charge. Otherwise we wouldn't be seeing clear changes in the way Josh is playing; he would have told McDermott where to go and kept the running plays etc. -

Would prefer either - at least there would be a degree of certainty! -

Can't you? I can. Just enough to draw the season out and keep hope going without any actual certainty until a heartbreaking loss to the Dolphins in week eighteen. -
The Bills lost to the Jets, who were without Rodgers for the majority of the game, in week one. They lost to the Pats who are, for the most part, utterly useless. They were defeated by the Broncos who had, earlier in the series, allowed the Dolphins to put 70 up against them. Save weeks two to four, they have not been in position to take advantage of any good luck which comes their way.

When was the last time the chaos train stopped in Kansas City?

I won't believe this unless Travis Kelce decides to retire as of immediate effect to become a househusband.

If the Bills somehow win the SB this year - which will be a minor miracle - it'll make the reload much easier to handle. -

More a case it was bottle things up in the past until they caused issues in other ways. If you're right, then actually working with Josh may get him out of the funk quicker than "just get on with it", which will be beneficial for both him and the Bills. -

I really hope you don't work for mental health services. As, even if it is a case of him being "mentally weak", it'll take a lot of work to get him to "snap out of it". -

Though that could be an added issue. When things are going badly, he has no one to be around. Presumably Halie is in LA. His family back in Wyoming. The relationship with Diggs has faltered. Daboll has moved on. With his relationshp with Brittney breaking down, who does he have to take him out of a funk, to try and distract him or give him confidence? Face to face is always better than zoom calls in this scenario. So, whilst you say it in quite a cutting way, it may be another factor on top of everything else. I swear there were clips of him doing the same thing against the Pats? Again, the defense which can do no wrong did no wrong.
