I agree these are all very good receivers and I would love to have any one of them on the Bills, but I would not call any of them real game changers. Since the original topic was not about receivers, I would add James Cook to the list as a great 2nd round pick that I'm sure most other teams wish they had made. If you look at the various lists of the top 50 players, it is littered with top 10 picks and the occassional mid-low round pick that just breaks out. My real point is that many people just look at the hits that other GM's have made and totally ignore their misses when evaluating Beane. Yes, he has made mistakes and had some busts, but so does every other GM in the league. If you can give me an example of a GM that consistently hits, I'd love to hear it. FYI, the late round pick comment is not an excuse, it's just a statement of reality that the odds of getting a game changer are much lower in the bottom 5 picks and the ability to trade up is greatly diminished based on the value of those picks. That said, you be you and just keep focusing on the Elams & Colemans and ignore the Cooks, Browns & Benfords.

Please give me examples to support your blanket statement. Every GM including Beane, have had a few picks that outplay their draft position, but real game changing talent usually come out of the top 10 picks.

When was the last time the Bills were in a position to draft a real game changer? There aren't too many available when you are consistently picking at the end of round 1. In most years, the players available are really round 2 talent. You might get lucky and get a James Cook, but probably not. Anyone that says that Beane needs to trade up to get a top pick is not dealing in reality. This is the way the NFL designed it.

I had already assumed it would be really hard to keep Vandy around in 2026 given the other OL contracts in play and the fact Grable was ahead of him when healthy. Maybe now he will get a good enough contract elsewhere that it yields something in the comp pick formula. The offseason O-line decisions are going to be very interesting.

Milano's contract expires at the end of this year after he restructured this summer and his 2026 cap figure is a void year. Conclusion = no cap 2026 savings available unless he is resigned and the void money is rolled into a new deal as you have stated. Obviously this scenerio is highly unlikely in this case.

Lost in all the other rhetoric since the game, is that the O-line got smoked yesterday. It's very puzzling how they can play like a top 5 group one week and get embarassed the next. I don't recall ever seeing Dion get pushed around like he was on a few plays yesterday. Josh was scrabbling for his life on pass attempts and Cook had to struggle for yards on most of his carries. Fortunately, this is one area that I have some confidence that it can be fixed.

Moulds ran 4.5 at the combine. That's faster than Keon, but I would not call him fast.

Don't forget that Grable is still on the team and would be a strong candidate to replace Edwards at LG, assuming his concussion issues are behind him. If he's healthy and ready to come off IR, I wouldn't have been shocked to see Van Demark included in a trade package for a DT earlier this week. Since that didn't happen, it seems the team is content to keep Grable on IR for the year, unless there's an injury the creates a hole in O-line depth. Hopefully there isn't a longterm concern with the concussion he suffered in training camp.

I suggest the speculation regarding Stenosis or Myelomalacia be put on hold and we wait for more details of his injury to become available. It's obviously a serious situation, but at this point, none of us have any way of knowing if it is career ending or not. McDermott's comments were not encouraging, but let's hope he can return and have a long healthy and successful career with the Bills. The medical evaluations at the Combine involve: Comprehensive History: Players provide a detailed medical history, including any past spinal injuries, "stingers" (transient neuropraxia), or surgeries. Physical Examinations: Each player undergoes multiple thorough orthopedic exams by physicians from all 32 NFL teams. These images are specifically used to assess the spinal canal dimensions and identify any narrowing (stenosis) or spinal cord abnormalities (myelomalacia). Pure speculation on my part, but my guess is that we'll eventually find out he is dealing with an injury that is limiting him, similar to Rapp. CB was too good in past years to have his play drop like it has for no reason. Like Rapp, the options to let him sit and recover have been limited, so I suspect he has had to play through it. Rapp isn't an All Pro, but he is much better than what he showed before going to IR.

I hadn't heard about the bone bruise, but I strongly suspected he had one of those "non-reportable" injuries that was affecting his play over the past couple games. He definitely is a better player than what we saw on Thursday, so hopefully the 10 days between games will allow him to heal up a bit and get back to form. I still believe Groot, Hoecht and Bosa can be a very strong group on the Edge if they can remain healthy.

Since he's not a vested veteran, he is subject to waivers. If another team claims him, any handshake agreement would be meaningless. Hopefully, he doesn't get claimed and we get him to the PS.

This has to be the best group of starters and backups we have ever had. The depth is outstanding and they are all on rookie contacts or are ERFA's. We can expect next year to be as good or better with the young guys having more experience. Even the PS guys are pretty interesting, so I'll be surprised if Beane considers OL in the draft before the 6th round, if at all. It will be interesting to see if there are real camp battles next summer. Regarding Brown, I've always liked him, but thought there was a chance Beane would let him test the market based on the way Van Demark filled in last year. This could have made sense based on the cap savings, but clearly would have been a terrible move. Just another example that Beane is one of the very best in the league!

Bills time of possesion >41 minutes and the Bronco's had zero 1st downs in the 3rd quarter. I'd say it was a pretty good defensive effort after the 1st Bronco's drive.

I understand the trepidation with Bishop, but I think he needs some playing time to progress. The next 3 games could be a great opportunity to give him some, so that he is better prepared if his number is called in the playoffs.

I'd really like to know what's behind elevating Mike White this week. No injuries reported at QB, but maybe someone is ill. If so, I hope it's not 17. (sorry Mitch!)

The O-Line is pretty much set for 2025 barring injuries. In addition to the signed guys, Anderson & Van Demark are both ERFA's so it's a lock that they both will be back. Gouraige and Edwards will be offered futures contracts and very likely to return as well. Clapp may look for a better opportunity to make a 53, but that's probably the only loss. This is already a very deep and talented group, so any OL draft pick will need to be a bargain that Beane just can't pass on. I expect that they will just add a few UDFA's to fill out the camp roster. The wildcard could be Beane getting a trade offer for someone like Van Demark that fills one of the D-line needs.

Overdrafted just like T. Bernard & D. WIlliams??? Neither of them saw the field in their rookie year, nor deserved to. Both balled out in year 2, so making any judgement about Bishop's abilities this early is ignorant.

It's a concern, but New England did pretty well for a couple years with that combination. I also think Brady is self aware enough to know that one very good year as an OC doesn't mean you're ready to run the whole show. For example, Daboll's resume was arguably much stronger than Brady's and he certainly hasn't killed it with the Giants.

Josh made a lot of great plays today, but on the first drive he also decided not to throw to a wide open reciever before extending the play and getting the ball knocked out of his hands! I love Josh and would not trade him for any other QB in the league, but he is certainly not perfect! I have been hoping that without Diggs, he would be better at taking the play that's there this year. I have no idea what he was thinking at that moment, but it seemed that he wanted a bigger play than merely a critical first down on a very important drive. This play was a big factor in digging the hole in the 1st half hole and I hope the film will reinforce this so next time he makes a better decision.

I believe this board just mirrors our society in general, where there is a small group on both sides of any issue represent an extreme viewpoint, whereas the majority is really somewhere in the middle. Unfortunately, the critics tend to be louder than most others and because of that, they want you to think they represent the majority view. I often wonder if the folks that want big organizational changes actually enjoy watching the games or if they're too preoccupied on what NEEDS to be different. Personally I fully expect the Bills to be very competitive again this year, but also believe Beane has them setup for a strong run in the coming years with the draft capital he's accumulated and an improved cap situation.

Leading up to the draft I wanted the Bills to get either Davis or Braelon Allen as a bigger complement to Cook. While I've be happy with Ray thus far, reports have been calling the Jets getting Allen in the 5th one of the steals of the draft. It's still early, so hopefully Ray can continue to show out and overtake Allen as the real steal! Ray's not as big as Allen, but he seems to be a much better receiver. Over time, I'm very hopeful that Ray will be more productive than Allen.
