  1. His explanation of what changed pre to post Dorsey from 12:00-19:00 was amazing. Data forward, clear, cause/effect. Really impressive
  2. As someone who has family ties to an employee who worked directly for Nick with the Eagles - he is an #######. He blames others when things go wrong, just not a fun guy to be around. Losing his OC and DC right after the Super Bowl killed the teams leadership core. Nick could fall back on those guys to handle things he wasn't capable of. I dont think Nick lasts much longer with that group
  3. I understand what you are saying. Investment in the position is in your eyes a direct indicator to success. However, I think that's a very simplified analysis. Does it take into account injuries? As you mentioned, other positions do impact WR results. If I look at this year, 4 of the bottom 8 spenders currently made the playoffs last year AND won games. And, 2 of those teams won multiple games. Key component? They all had great QBs who elevated the position. This year the Bills are on track to spend more on the WR position than KC last year, even though KC was 19th and the Bills are 26th. Are you purely going off rankings? Or absolute spend? Rankings are interesting, because Minny last year was 5th cheapest, but had the best WR in football (JJ). Are we really considering them a bottom 5 unit? GB has several GREAT rookies on deals, their AAV drives down postional spend. They aren't a bottom 5 unit in production, just AAV. If you told me the Bills WR impacts this year would be like GB or Minny, I'd be stoked. Bottom 5 spend last year and top 5 spend last year each won ONE playoff game. I'd say WR spend as a single attribute to define success of a season of a team is a little short sighted
  4. KC won the Super Bowl last year with a below average WR room. Rice is a good player, MVS we have, Moore is bad. They had Kelce who is all world, but the Bills have Kincaid and Knox who are no slouches. The Bills pure WR room is better than what Kansas City had last year to win the Super Bowl
  5. Gabe may be one of the most polarizing players for fans/local media/national media. His stats are that of a #3, has never had a season above 850 yards, and has a sub 60% catch rate. However, he is a plus blocker, and seemed to have some really good games where he would explode. I think not giving him 14M a year was incredibly smart, his pure production can be replaced for a fraction. However, I'll be interested to see who takes the blocking detail in our zone run schemes. If Claypool or Coleman can use their size to block DBs, Gabe wont me missed for a second
  6. In aggregate, Davis year to year is a #3 on a top 5 offense. I'd love if Claypool can do that. There are legit questions as to whether he can. I'm hopeful
  7. Scouts tend to have a pulse on the room to a pretty strong degree. I have a cousin who is a browns scout and he always has stories of which players work out. To be fair, I tend to hear that players who act out do so when there is a very poor leadership in their locker room. Hence why Baker struggled in Cleveland, why Peppers was a bit of a clown with Cleveland as well. Maybe Claypool with a strong leadership core here (Allen, Miller, Knox, etc.) and coaches who carry respect will lead to him meshing a bit better than Chicago...
  8. Yea, I mentioned that in an earlier post in the thread. His stats in the league shows he can play. He needs to have the right coaching/support/attitude to get back to what he can be - a solid #3/2 with deep threat
  9. Fun fact, Chase has TWO seasons of more receiving yards than Davis' best year. On similar targets as well. His catch rate is similar to Davis as well. He was a decent #2/3 with Pitt early in the league. If the team can turn this guy back into that player, he will have a role.
  10. I always felt Claypool had the talent, just not the consistency in effort. You dont just magically have two 850 yard seasons if you can't at least hang in the league. If McD and Brady are able to get him straight and he can have a gabe davis like role on this team (blocking + deep threat + suspect catch rate) that would be a welcomed addition at a discount
  11. Lot's of things need to go right to win games in the playoffs. It's a combination of luck/preparation/execution. Most plays are 50/50, and what decides who wins is a minor mistake or great play by a player or two. What I'm saying is you can't just say "well the game was trending one way so we were lucky to be in that position, and should have lost 9 out of 10 times" without acknowledging that really you can say that on the other side with almost the same consistency. Most games come down to a few plays that go right or wrong for a team. 50/50 games are almost every game until the 4th quarter
  12. 13 seconds is a bills win 99/100 times it’s played. You can do this both ways
  13. You wonder why the Bills spent a draft pick on a guy at this position - the cap implications of a top receiver are insane now.
  14. “There was a landline available and he left $40 on the counter! That’s enough for pizza AND wings!” -Billl
  15. Watching Luka pass is the thing that carries him closest to Allen. Allen has the coordination with a ball in his hands to be precise. allen was a plus high school basketball player, who then went through a growth spurt and is now a 6’5 beast of a precision athlete. I think he could step onto a low end D1 team and probably be able to not look terrible. Maybe after a year or two of training he could be on the bench of a top D1 program. It would be a whole different level for NBA however.
  16. Getting up to speed is a decade long venture. JJ Watt played hockey since he was a kid, and while he looks big and fast, he would be lost in the ECHL which is the third tier league basketball and football are completely different realms in their own right. Basketball is about 5 players all carrying similar abilities in different facets to put a ball in a hoop. Football is 11 players specializing heavily in skill sets or facets to effectively succeed in their micro role on a play against a macro strategy He would be wayyyy too small for PF maybe he can be a SG or PG with a very specific skill set. the NBA requires a longer learning period for a football player to move to as opposed to an NBA players learning to be a gunner or vertical TE
  17. Allen couldn’t step in right now and be anything close to an NBA player. If you gave him 3 years of coaching and practice every day maybe he can not be a total fool for 5 minutes. allen has something going for him, he is incredibly smart, with quick reactions and very athletic. Maybe he could play a hybrid point guard role as a distributor. however, rivers is insufferable with his mountain top shouting about this. If the NBA had rosters of 53 plus a highly specialized role that players could map to (like the fact that college basketball players turned football players have all been TEs because that position has the biggest athletic advantage over his defensive counterpart) there would absolutely be NFL players coming over. Regardless, neither sport has a player that will ever come play hockey, so maybe PK Subban can stand on an even higher mountain than rivers to make everyone else feel lesser…
  18. With his height/weight, the only positional options would be DE/FB Maybe a practice squad player
  19. MVS is a bulls alum, and as a fellow alum I always enjoyed watching him play. He isn't top tier by any means, but if he comes in as a #4 that can push the boundary, there's nothing wrong with that.
  20. Shorter is by no means likely. Hollins is likely compared to Shorter
  21. I suspect he will get between 6-12 games, dependent on details that come out over the next month or two. I dont think the NFL will rush to a decision on it. 6-9 games for the initial incident, and 3-6 games for the second incident dependent on details that come forward
  22. From the embedded video it sounded like Beane really thinks this guy can be a long term center option
  23. Elam gets another year with a new DB coach to show me what he can do. We have team control on his deal, and if he develops it's a big plus. I'm not convinced that Burks is a better option that Claypool right now. He is 24 and has shown very little. Elam has been boom bust, but at least you can say he has made plays at times. You need to see if he can harness that potential and make him more consistent.
  24. There is no down and distance where I go "Josh CAN'T get us out of this". That is an incredible feeling as a fan. Most QBs on 3rd and 13 or at their own 20 with 50 seconds left you feel little hope. With Josh, you almost get excited for those opportunities in a sick way to see what he can do.
