  1. What my wife does to "simulate" Weck rolls is she buys uncooked pizza dough, sets it out on the counter so it rises a second time. She then separates it into little roll sized portions, does the egg wash with seeds and salt, pops them in the oven and VIOLA .... a near semblance of kummelweck rolls.
  2. Funny story ... Living in central Florida we got to see a lot of Davis' play and my son really REALLY wanted him for the Bills. Both he & I thought Davis would be a great fit for the team ... not in a Diggs kind of fit, but more of a Robert Woods kind of guy, willing to do the dirty work and work his butt off trying to be an asset to the team. One of my son's friends went to UCF with Davis and somehow through their schooling they became friends. Every time this kid would bump into Davis he'd tell him about this crazy Bills fan friend's obsession with Davis going to the Bills, and Davis would just laugh. After the Bills drafted him he sent his buddy a signed rookie card and said to give it to that crazy Bills fan buddy of yours, it just may be worth something some day. So now every time Davis makes a catch my son says to me .... "card just went up another nickel".
  3. While I agree on all of your points ... I believe "style points" only count during the game, once the final gun sounds the only thing that matters is was it a win or loss. So while I hated the game DURING the game, I love it now. just sayin
  4. I actually agree with his call here. Up to that point our offense was playing like dog doodoo (or at least the Colts Defense was stopping them). They were either going to get up 17-7 or make us march those 96 yards, and up to that point no one really felt the offense was up to that drive. It stinks for them the Bills chose that specific time to wake up, but it was GREAT for us Bills fans. I see it as one of those hindsight is 20-20 deals, if it works your a freakin genius, if it fails your a freakin idiot.
  5. I firmly believe that the development of a QB is as much a maturation process as it is a "learning the playbook" sort of thing. Josh's first two years I would assume he has learned the playbook, and this year he's digging deeper into pre snap reads, post snap adjustments, and communicating those reads & adjustments to the rest of the team. IMHO Josh has been helped immensely by both the consistency within the organization and easier communications due to the lack of crowd noise (this year) .
  6. For MY answer it's McD by a country mile ... don't get me wrong I love Daboll, it's just I love him a little less than McD. But IMHO, the salient question is ... how about the Chargers OC for a replacement if Dabs DOES leave? I like what Steichen has done with Herbert (who I see a lot of Josh Allen in) and the offense has performed admirably even though playing under a less than stellar HC.
  7. I don't think Stefanski beats out McD, the Browns are the one team that historically gets less respect than Buffalo. However you can't overlook the sympathy vote for Rivera. I have no idea who actually does the voting, but with WFT being an old established historical NFL team, combined with his battle with cancer, his reclamation of Alex Smith's career, and overcoming the dumpster fire that the front office was at the beginning of the season, I wouldn't bet against him as COY no matter how much I think McD deserves it.
  8. No Ruth played baseball .... and everybody knows there's no punting in baseball just sayin'
  9. I mean what could possibly be more apropos???? just sayin'
  10. With Josh's new found love of Sinatra, coupled with the Bills' embracing "the process" to change the culture around One Bill's Drive, I propose Sinatra's "My Way" be the new fight song. Maybe not the most fear inspiring song on anyones playlist, but it would make the rest of the nation sit up and say .... "What the f..." just sayin'
  11. I live right on the Rockledge Viera border on the Rockledge side.
  12. I live approximately 2 hours away from Jax, Tampa, and Miami 😄
  13. The whole rest em or play em is one of those hindsight is 20/20 deals. If the Bills rest the players and lose the 1st playoff game 98.37% of us fans are going to accuse the players of being "rusty" and lethargic and want to fire the coaching staff for not having them prepared. If the Bills play the players, and as much as a third string player gets hurt and we lose the 1st playoff game 98.37% of us fans are going to accuse the loss of depth on the loss and want to fire the coaching staff for exposing our players to injury. On the other hand no matter what the Bills do these next two games if they WIN, only 12.88% of the fans will be upset because we didn't dominate our opponent as much as they thought we should and want the whole organization gutted so we can start over. just sayin' NOTE; the entire post was made in jest (with the exception of the first sentence)
  14. They are football players ... playing football is what they do. We are football fans ... worrying about injuries is what we do. I am no more worried about one of those guys getting injured in the next two weeks than I was worried about them having a season ending injury on the first snap of our first game (or any other play up until now). I'm no more worried about them getting injured in the next two weeks than I am about them getting injured on the first snap of our first playoff game. Unfortunately injuries are part of the game, and the team has to deal with them on a constant basis. If the team wants to rest a dinged up player because he's not 100% and they want him more healthy for the playoff run ... I'm all in, but resting a perfectly healthy player .... ahhh ... I'm not sure.
  15. A wise man once said "YOU PLAY ... TO WIN ... THE GAME" and I agree. IMHO the Bills should play at their best to win each and every game they are in and let the chips fall where they may. The only exception I would consider is that if the Bills were playing the Dolphins the last game of the regular season, and were certain that they were going to meet them in the first game of the playoffs, installing a pure vanilla game plan on both sides of the ball thereby not giving the Dolphins "practice" against what they may unleash on them to start their playoff run. Then again there IS something to be said about coming out that last game and playing like their hair was on fire to absolutely CRUSH the Dolphins thereby demoralizing them for the upcoming week. The Bills should be concentrating on wining football games, NOT playing silly little games to effect the final standings of the league or potential seeding positions. I don't particularly fear any specific team in the playoffs, however I generally fear every team in the playoffs, they're all good teams, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, and on any given Sunday Yadda Yadda Yadda.
  16. The fact remains that the video didn't show the players wearing masks, but maybe .... just maybe they maintained proper social distancing and kept six feet between each other. With the possible exception of Beasley because he tends to measure distance in "Beasley feet" which everyone knows are quite a bit shorter than "normal people feet". just sayin' (before anybody gets their panties in a wad, this entire post is meant as humor and in no way should be construed as commentary on the Covid pandemic or the protocols that should be followed)
  17. A couple of things I find extraordinary about this. I've been a fan for as long as the Bills have existed, and while I've seen a number of times throughout the league, players (mostly QBs or RBs) buying gifts for their linemen in appreciation of a good season, and sometimes after receiving a monster contract a player will buy gifts for all his teammates, but I've NEVER seen or heard of players buying a gift for their coach. Another thing, is that if you listen to the video, they say it was brought up and organized by Gabe Davis. Now I could understand if the "Big Dog" of the room has the idea and everybody falls in line, but Gabe is a rookie, he's the young pup, and he is comfortable enough to go to Diggs, Beasley, and Brown (along with the others in the room) with this wonderfully hairbrained idea ... and they fell in line and made it happen. Gotta LOVE this team.
  18. I think Josh is a stand up guy. IMHO there are guys that the number figure they get paid is some kind of status symbol, and there are guys that the figure they get paid is just a number. Josh strikes me as the kind of guy that when you talk about 300/400/500 millions it just doesn't matter, he would be just as comfortable for the rest of his life with 300 million as he would with 500 million. Josh doesn't seem to be the bright lights big city, look at me kind of guy ... he drives a Ford pickup truck for gods sake, Diggs on the other hand drives a white on white Bentley. Don't get me wrong, Diggs has EARNED every nut and bolt on that Bentley, but it's a status thing, they are two different people with two different motivations, and two different situations (and neither is wrong or more right). What I was driving at with my post is that the Bills organization is in the drivers seat with contract negotiations, and if the bean counters want to look at it as a business deal, then the player should also look at it as a business deal.
  19. If I were Josh Allen (and I'm not) it would depend on how the Bills organization approached his contract negotiation. If they come to him before they really have to, and say you've out performed your rookie contract, and we want to pay you what we can to be our QB of the future ... then we talk a deal that would benefit both myself AND the team. Meaning I'll get paid a ton of money, but not to the point where the organization will have to make personnel decisions on other players, based on the shear size of MY contract. If the organizations attitude is that it would be a crazy business decision for us to pay you a penny more than we have to, a day earlier than we have to. Then MY position would be, it would be a crazy business decision to accept a penny less than what another team would offer me ... I like it here and all, so I'll bring my best offer back to you and give you a chance to beat it ... but we're talking business after all.
  20. But you do get a free pass if your watching Brian's song. just sayin'
  21. You young whipper snappers are spoiled, back in the day we could only watch away games on a grainy black & white TV and we had to walk 12 feet through ankle deep pile carpeting, up hill both ways, to change the channels. Half the time we couldn't even tell who the heck had the ball unless you had just the right amount of tin foil on the rabbit ears and had them pointed in the perfect direction. Shoot, home games only came over my big brothers transistor radio which they made me stand in the middle of the room holding it above my head slowly rotation to get the strongest signal. just sayin' Oh yeah .... GET OFF OF MY LAWN
  22. I agree 100%, however there are people who tend to get forgotten in all this hero worship such as grocery clerks, people who work the gas stations, truck drivers, and all the other people who were deemed essential workers. There is a whole cadre of people out there that deserve our thanks for keeping this country on it's feet. just sayin'
  23. Some people balk at the idea that a person should be required to provide ID to be allowed to vote. IMHO requiring a fan to provide vaccination records (and ID to prove the vaccination record is in fact theirs) to attend a sporting event would go over like a fart in church. just sayin'
