  1. Wilson has been lights out and Rogers is also making a case, might come down to those two. Maybe just give it to Peyton Manning again for old time sake, just for showing up in commercials. 👍
  2. I think you're right, but I'm not sure the Bills are built for that kind of game. To beat a Reid offense we need inside pressure. To beat a Spagnuola defense you have to successfully power run. The Chiefs are built to pass, get a lead and then blitz you until you collapse. NE's roster is built to beat them, not sure we are though. We might be able to go score for score though, I'm hoping for that.
  3. Agreed, my gut tells me that we win the division and its a one year rental. NE led the league in opt outs, would get a softer schedule next year and with all their players back, a year to digest Brady leaving and a lot of young talent...they will likely be the favorite next year. I think we absolutely have to win this year to get over that mental trap, because next year they will be back to form.
  4. Agreed, the ability to make adjustments by forecasting what the opponent is going to do is very Hoodie like and we need that. Reacting is just that, after the fact. Defensively you do things to them to make them adjust, then change it up and keep them guessing.
  5. Its likely going to be the Jets, unless Darnold proves he belongs over the next 14 games. The Jets front office set him up to fail so far, sad situation for sure. NY has never fired a coach during the season, so we won't really know anything until January, but my guess is they make a run at Josh McDaniels and draft Lawrence. They'll trade Darnold, cut Bell and build an offensive line. Probably won't work, its the Jets....lol
  6. Thats possible, but they have a lot of cap space next year and a lot of opt out peeps coming back (at least on paper). Our window is small and we need to make the move THIS year in my opinion, otherwise everyone gets restless. This isn't really an even competition when we're dealing with the 2nd richest franchise in the league and an owner that hangs out with the Commish. We're looking for respect, Hoodie and Spa boy look for SBs.
  7. I reserve the right to judge yet... That guy started 0-2 and won SBs and we've been trying to say its over, he's old for like 10 years. Nope... not drinking the Kool Aid yet.
  8. Truth, and I would point out that NE lost 8 players to opt'ing out and has a huge amount of cap space. Perish the thought, but they will be better next year. Our time is now, we have to establish ourselves THIS year. Next year won't be an option if they win the division again this year and improve their team in the offseason with all that extra $$.
  9. Not buying, 3 games across 2 years and 2 teams is a leap to a conclusion. Its not like there isn't a body of work to look at outside the last three games.
  10. Looking at Allen's progress as a passer got me thinking about winning the Div against the one team opposing us. So I read this article: https://nesn.com/2020/09/patriots-secondary-might-be-even-more-dangerous-after-losing-key-pieces/?src=rss and came away thinking that Belichick was watching the evolution of Bills personnel, trends, etc. and built his defense accordingly. Can we be a power running team against them? They are built to stop the pass, contain running Qb's obviously, they had to adapt to losing pretty much all their LBs. I know we won't see them until November, but I feel like the die is already cast with our roster and identity, and power running doesn't seem to be there. On the flip side of that they did build their team for power running to control the clock. So trying to read the tea leaves, my guess is they defend Allen by taking away his best weapon, keeping everything underneath and putting a spy on him, occasional blitzes while they try to control the clock. Late season weather could play a role as well (wind, rain, cold). I feel like we're built to trade scores with KC, but not grind it out with Tennessee, Baltimore and maybe NE. Has Allen really progressed to that point yet where he can carry us?
  11. Not going to jump on the bash Brady bandwagon yet, way too early and that dude usually comes back. If they are 3-7 In Nov, ok its safe and I'm in. lol
  12. After 4 games in, we'll have a pretty good idea who everybody is. I think we know who the Jets are though. lol
  13. Love Marv, but still think he was out coached in all 4 super bowl losses and our talent was equal if not greater in all 4 (except maybe the last one). Glad to hear that he and McDermott have a great relationship, says a lot about both men.
  14. I don't expect fireworks or even efficient football in this game. We were 23rd on Offense last year and they were 31st, no one had any pre-season games and this is the first action for everyone. There's going to be a lot of errors... We should win, possibly in a blow out but nothing is guaranteed in the current situation.
  15. Its year three for Allen with all the "weapons" he needs to succeed. Its make or break time, hopefully he's "the guy". Otherwise, this whole thing just goes sideways and sets the franchise back again. That, and looking to next year... NE will get back 8 players that opted out and has a ton of cap space. We have to win the div this year in order to be competitive next year also. If NE wins the Div this year, next year will be even harder for us. Just sayin
  16. So you're saying Fitz plays two lights out games in a row at NE? Last Sep's match up of these two was 43-0 NE, with 130+ rushing yards and seven sacks. Nice idea you have, maybe hoodie shows up drunk without pants and it happens.
  17. Sounds awesome, I'm seeing this though: Its going to be a dogfight and I think we split with NE, I don't put any stock in them falling off a cliff without Brady. At least not until it does, 20 years of waiting makes me hesitant.
  18. He's a workhorse, somebody will snap him up in a "prove it" year.
  19. Newton is just saying he's not up to starter standard of knowing the offense, it has nothing to do with the QB "competition". The competition is over, the learning curve is not and thats the take away.
  20. So we're the preseaon fav to win the division with the worst back up QB situation... I don't like it, def going to cringe every time Allen gets hit or runs.
  21. Its impossible to predict. NE is trying to build a run first team with a tough D, then ask Newton to manage the game and make plays with his legs when things break down. IF that happens they will be tough. IF we stay healthy, we will be tough. Just have to remember that we have a QB who likes to run, which puts him at a much higher risk of injury. Add in the COVID issue and this season is a total wild card and could turn on us in a heartbeat. No way to predict anything, we could have a battle of the back ups come November....
  22. If Newton goes down, the plan will be Stidham. He's a total unknown at this point, so its tough to have an opinion. All I could get from articles was that he made strides in the offseason, made quicker reads and has a "live arm" but threw alot of ints in camp. None of that adds up to much. Newton being healthy and picking up their offense is noteworthy.
  23. Newton is the starter, Stidham will be the back up and then starter if Newton struggles or gets injured. Hoyer will stick around due to COVID.
