Your scenario is certainly possible. I, like the Bills I am sure, are hoping Hodgins or Stevenson can step up on the outside to make Kumerow totally expendable. I never want to see him playing receiver, and while he was good on special teams, they do not need both he and Jones. Teach someone else for crying out loud. Crowder and Shakir absolutely make the 53. I agree with MacKenzie in Blue but I think he sticks as returner and gadget guy. Stevenson needs to play WR to make the team, on the outside, in my opinion.

Virtually identical size as Milano when he came out of college. Bernard is faster.
-
Keep trying. You may eventually be right.
-
At this admittedly much too early date, absolutely. The Bills are a much better team. Anything can happen between now and then obviously.

I don’t think Beane has any intention of paying Poyer close to this contract or term, and I suspect Poyer is looking for more. He has younger players he would rather pay next year. Sad but likely true.
-
No, you really can’t. It is much too early to evaluate these players and the implication that they are busts this early in the process is misguided at best. The fact is you would be hard pressed to find a DE drafted in a similar time frame in a similar position who has out performed them. All three of these players by definition are projects at that position. The points seemingly being made in that article are BS at best.

The only real option Poyer has is to pull a “Gilmore”. - show up but B word about it and play the preserve my health game. Belicheat was quick to pull the trigger on dumping Gilmore last year when he started that act. Pull the rotten tooth before it infects the others. I don’t see Poyer taking it that far but if he does Beane should be prepared to do the same.

I like this draft more than some clearly do, but I am nervous about the OL. I had expected an IOL to develop and compete for a role somewhere on Day 2. In my mind, failing to address the biggest hole on the team in round 1 with a talent like Elam sitting there would have been criminal. You can blame the OL for the playoff loss I guess, but in my mind that is far down the list of issues in why they lost. To me the biggest was that without Tre White and counting on Levi Wallace as CB1 and the second tier players behind him, the Bills were doomed against Mahomes from the start. The next biggest issue was pass rush and they tried to address that as well. You could certainly argue IOL should have been a priority in round 2, or certainly round 3. I get the sense the board just did not fall their way but who knows. In any case they did grab an offensive playmaker for Allen, a point many here were adamant about, and I think his skill set will help a great deal, even if he was picked a bit too early according to many draft experts. Very good fit none the less and meets a need. Round 3 is where I was really puzzled as most were and here is where they may have addressed the OL, assuming there was value there to be had. You would know better than me. I like the player they got, but I feel from both a need and value perspective, it’s a misfire.

That’s OK. Just pretend you do like so many others. -
Do the Bills have the best offense in the league?

You obviously have not heard that the Bills have ignored offensive playmakers for Allen and are one injury away from doomsday. -
Rd 3, Pick 89 (25): LB Terrell Bernard, Baylor

I am not sure what their plan is for Bernard. Potential replacement for Milano or safety candidate? If they took him in the third round they likely view him as more than a ST contributor and occasional big nickel role player long term, although that may be his initial role. He look like more of a safety to me. -
NFL Draft 2022 Second & Third Round Discussion Thread
FLFan replied to UKBillFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
So many people who know so little but have so many self righteous opinions. More entertaining than the draft itself. -
Epic fail on the negatives. 1. Edmunds type of player? What does that even mean? If it means 5 year starter, defensive signal caller, defensive captain, and multiple pro bowls, please sign me up. 2. Beane does not have a great track record? Ed Oliver - starter and at times dominant. 5th yer option picked up and still improving. White - pro bowler and elite CB1. Edmunds- already covered. Rousseau - 1st year starter. OK then. 3. Beane scrambled? What is the evidence of that. He had a player targeted above others and got him. We do not even know, and never will, if he wanted McDuffie. 4. Move ahead of 1 team? Wrong. If Baltimore was moving the pick, every other team was in play. By the way, we do not know that Dallas did not want this player. Their reaction at the draft table after the Bills trade and selection was announced indicated they may well have been targeting the same player.

Diggs will splatter the sauce all over the field. Your DE is a mediocre pass rusher and could not catch Josh Allen in his dreams. WR - meet best secondary in the league. Youse will suck again.
-
Well, they did spend a number 1 pick on Stephon Diggs, but don’t let facts get in the way of your rant.
-
According to Beane’s comments last night, he was the last player on their board with a first round grade and were considering trading down if he was not available, so you are right about what happened.
-
Could it possibly be that the player they wanted was gone?

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)
FLFan replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
Could not be suckered by the Breece Hall hype train, huh? Good for you sticking to the value on the board. I would be very pleased with this pick, although Chris Olave going so close to their pick is intriguing. I could see them jumping up a few spots here if the board fell this way and they really do have concerns about Booth. -
So are you suggesting the Chiefs running game is somehow responsible for their wins? I think that would be news even to the Chiefs. I also suspect there are more than a few KC fans and and coaches who wish that pick has been spent on a CB or other defensive playmaker, rather than a RB whose production they could have received from a third round pick, as the Bills have.
-
If they pick RB at 25, the next announcement may be that they have hired Marv Levy as an offensive consultant. I am choosing to believe at this point that the Bills will not be so foolish as to pick a running back in the first round.
