  1. I think he hurts his credibility by making ridiculous statements like the one that started this thread.
  2. http://www.nfl.com/stats/categorystats?tabSeq=1&statisticPositionCategory=QUARTERBACK YTD stats at the link above. I think to say that Glennon has looked the best and "its not even close" is a bit of an overstatement to say the least. The stats are very close. EJ has a higher Yds/attempt, Glennon has many more throws, thus more yards, more TDs; slightly higher completion %; same interceptions and sacks. The ratings are comparable at least. EJ is 3 and 3 in games he started and finished; Glennon is 2 and 5. Glennon has started 7 games in a row, while EJ had a break in his season and had to restart. I would say any reasonable person would say the jury is still out on the question. That said, Glennon has looked better than I expected. In the limited amount I saw of him in college I thought he looked stiff and un-athletic, and bad when flushed out of the pocket. Bledsoe-esque is the term that comes to mind. I am surprised at how good he has looked, but that is hardly cause for declaring him the best rookie in the class. People were ready to bestow that on Geno Smith after the first Bills game if I recall. It seems Cosel is gushing to defend his own pre-draft evaluations.
  3. I am really not sure why. His record is mediocre and his teams are a train wreck of controversy and inconsistency year after year. He may have lost weight but his ego is still 300 pounds. Many personnel moves have been iffy at best. Would I have taken him over Chan, or Jauron - probably. I like where we are at now much better than the sexy Rexy show.
  4. I am not so sure about that, but we can agree to disagree. I was a fan when when he was here.
  5. Odd, yes, in the sense I have not heard that before either. Oddly refreshing though. I suspect had it not been such a resounding win, he would not have made an off the cuff jovial remark like that to the press.
  6. Nelson was always overrated by the fans in Buffalo. He is a great guy, very good hands, but he was never better than a 4th or 5th wideout and fared much better when they could play him as a 4th wideout/extra tight end, getting mismatches with LBs and dime backs.. I am glad he has a job and is contributing, but I would not bet on him making the Jets roster next year. He was a stop gap due to injury problems and the fact that the Jets went into the year weak at the position to begin with. This is something they will likely address next year.
  7. I have not heard anyone from the Bills say that was motivation. I guess it must have been someone else on the interior of the Jets line getting their butt handed to him all day long by Williams and Dareus.
  8. The fact that the Bills are still 4th in the league in rushing would indicate they can run block fairly well. The Jets were leading the league in rushing defense, and focused heavily on it yesterday believing Manuel could not beat them with the pass. They were wrong.
  9. It would have been too late then anyway. Now is the time, for next year.
  10. Not sure what the point of this particular rant is. Something about a joke ..?
  11. Yes, very good. 90% of what is posted here in the next few days will be outrageous overreaction. More time for other things.
  12. Nice to hear some realistic and objective comments on a day when the the vast majority of threads and posts will be the opposite. Yesterday was very disappointing, even if it should not have been a surprise. (although I have to say I was surprised) Of all of it, I am most concerned about Hackett. I am starting to be in the camp of those who have been saying all along that he is in over his head. He could well be. I place the totally ineffective and unimaginative offense displayed yesterday squarely on his shoulders. This is concerning. Unless this changes in a hurry, he will likely get taken to the woodshed again next week by Sexy Rexy.
  13. I am sure the Skins will do everything possible to keep him. He is their best defensive player, and the team will be out of the cap jail they have been in the past two years and thus will have money to spend. He is not hitting the market. Even if so, I agree with other posters here saying that going after Orakpo or another premier type free agent is probably not the right move for this team. Stay the course.
  14. He was a favorite to replace Jauron at one time. Not sure which would have been worse - him or Gailey.
  15. 1. Interesting that several fans lament the loss of Urbik. 2. They seem to have given up on the season. I guess we know what that is like. Debating whether they should lose for draft position. Sound familiar? 3. It could get ugly for the Steelers at the Big Ketchup Bottle if the Bills can get an early lead.
  16. It seems like many Bills fans have more confidence in the Steelers than the Steelers fans have, possibly because the Steelers fans have had to watch their team play each week. The Bills should dominate line play on both sides of the ball - they are simply better. The Steelers blitz is hardly fearsome anymore, based on their 8 games so far. Rapelesberger is always a threat, but they do not have any scary receivers, and no running game. It is always possible the Bills throw the game away somehow, but this is a game they absolutely should win.
  17. I get your points - just do not think it is silly nor particularly ballsy to believe the Bills might win, Bills fan or not. I really do not care what the ESPN talking heads think, but I find it silly that they put no more thought into it than they do. I realize this is how it is until they prove it, but come on man. Go Bills!
  18. Silly? Pittsburgh is 2-6. Have you watched them? This game is at least even. Although it is on the road, this is not the same Steelers of legend and lore. They actually suck pretty bad. The Bills are are a team on the rise and the Steelers are going the other way. The Bills SHOULD win this game. That said, yes, rookie QB, maybe rusty, on the road etc. They need to prove it, but anyone looking objectively at both these teams with a bit of knowledge would conclude the Bills are the better team right now. A 20 point Bills blowout would not surprise me in the least.
  19. Overall, mostly on point. Clearly the QB issue is the biggest, not only in the lack of production from the WRs but also in the amount of sacks given up. Thad was a sack machine in the games he started, making the OL look much worse than they are because of inability to read the defense and get quick throws off to hot reads. That and the Jets game where EJ got mauled are the biggest factors in the OL sack totals. I do not recall any against the Chiefs. The Coaching grade is very fair, for the reasons he states.
  20. Far from "stinks". What I see is a team within a play here and there of being 6 and 3 instead of 3 and 6. Definitely heading in the right direction. I expect that by the end of the year the true potential of this team will be on display. Have not been able to say that for a long time.
  21. It is certainly your prerogative not to watch. Not sure we watched the same game, however. Feel free to go away if thats the case.
  22. The difference being RG3 tried to play with it and Shanahan let him.
  23. I am used to seeing nonsense posted on days after losses, but this has to be in the absolute top ten. Congrats to the OP!
  24. Yes it was. Not only that, the DB went full force into his knee. Nobody walks away from that hit. It does not make him injury prone. The suggestion is non-sensical. Jim from A is on a crusade.
