  1. Proving once again that any thread on any topic can be turned into a Bash EJ thread. Well done.
  2. The assumption should be he is the guy for the full season. However, in the event he struggles game to game, or shows no additional growth or consistency, by mid year a change may be warranted. For me it is all about showing progress. This is still a learning year, but one in which I, and I assume the team, expect to see evidence of improvement. He will have bad games, bad quarters, bad series, etc, but does the overall body of work indicate a guy that is growing, getting it, or not. It could certainly go either way, but I expect this is precisely what he will show. Despite the farmers with pitchforks around here assuming he will fail, or waiting for him to fail, the Bills will give him every opportunity. There will be no quick hook, nor should there be. Until half time the first game, huh? You need to adjust your expectations.
  3. Jones is a buffoon. As everyone knows, all decisions are his. Any attempt to deflect this decision on someone else is outright dishonesty. You would be hard pressed to find a more despicable human being than Jerry Jones. Perhaps Donald Trump.
  4. I am the opposite. Thrilled he's back. Too bad it was not to replace Sullivan.
  5. Welcome back. You have been missed
  6. You see Rocks, no matter how hard you try you can't beat out Bills fans in dreary outlook.
  7. McKelvin has never been a kick returner. Punt returns are much different. These are very often different people.
  8. I am in the middle of Ravens and Deadskins country - about evenly split I would say. I loath the Skins. I am more apathetic to the Ravens. At least they have real fans and Baltimore is a great NFL city. I would NEVER flip the switch though. Bills fan for life. If they were to move or cease to exist (does not look at all likely) I would just be done with the NFL.
  9. No, he was playing College football. There have been far more successful college QBs that have failed miserably in the NFL than have succeeded. Even beating the mighty Alabama is equivalent to beating the third string of bad NFL team.
  10. I can't associate with it. I have been gone from Buffalo for nearly 30 years, kept season tickets for the first 15, and have never missed seeing a game. I live in MD but would never even think of "becoming" a Ravens or Deadskins fan. He was obviously not much of a fan to begin with. Good riddance and keep your uninformed opinions to yourself. Please spare me the 14 years of frustration stuff. Anyone else wants to jump off the train, feel free.
  11. Thanks for the link. Shocking that the NY Post would be wrong about something.
  12. I don't believe he was asking a serious question, just another "crafty" EJ bash. If I am wrong, I apologize, but I don't think I am. Thanks for the post. You are not alone.
  13. We are not going to know much more about EJs future after three games than you do now I am afraid. Win or lose. This is going to take some time.
  14. When fans are booing a first half preseason performance, on kids day no less, then it think you can be pretty sure that this forum will not be the site of reasoned discussion if the Bills lose week 1.
  15. Well said, and by the way, also all too predictably, Joe B has started the media barrage on EJ not being named captain.
  16. Plenty of players have spoke out in support of EJ. The premise of the post is flawed.
  17. I think this actually a good matchup for the Bills. There are certainly question marks for the Bills offense but the Chicago D is average at best. I do not fear Cutler like some do. He is prone to big mistakes as much as big plays. A strong pass rush and stuffing the run game keep this one close. Bills 20 Bears 16.
  18. No, you are not. Despite all the armchair experts who have decided EJ is a bust, I still see what I expected to see: a young quarterback who lacks experience but demonstrates strong skills and an ability to learn. This was always going to take time and nothing has changed in that regard. He is going to look good at times and bad at times. What I expect is that we see progress as the season progresses and increasing consistency. It is a shame that injuries derailed his rookie year, but if he stays relatively healthy, I think we will see a much more polished EJ by season's end.
  19. Lawson - no question. Agreed, but there is no reason to believe he is better than the depth we have already.
  20. Thankfully, no Parker, so reason may prevail.
  21. Orton does not start unless EJ gets hurt, nor do I want him to. Manuel needs to play. That is what is in the best interests of this team in the long term. People are delusional if they think Orton was brought in to challenge the starting role. Great move as a backup and insurance policy. I am feeling much better about the position now, knowing they have someone who can actually play if EJ goes down.
  22. Agreed. He is prone to big mistakes under pressure. If the Bills can score 20 points I think they win this game.
  23. They have not made the final cuts yet, but supposing Hogan does make it, would you rather have six WRs or five DTs?
  24. I have certainly read a great deal of ignorant carp on this board but this about takes the cake.
  25. Entirely possible. I have to admit I have seen signs of this.
