  1. The biggest fault in this logic is, of course, that there is no guarnetee Murray would have signed with the Bills. Chances were probably small in fact. Second, Kiko is not a pro bowl linebacker. He is a guy that, unexpectedly, had a very good first half of the season in his career. The second half was forgettable, and of course he missed his second season due to his second ACL tear. The final unsustainable argument in your logic is that Murray is anything close to McCoy in terms of career accomplishment. He had an extraordinary year in 2014 no doubt, but this is a major outlier to the rest of his career. This hardly makes Murray a "top tier RB" - just a guy with one great year with what many people believe was the best OL in football last year. The Kiko for MCoy trade is solid on its face, and could turn out to be the steal of the year. Murray really has nothing to do with it, but even so, i would not trade McCoy for Murray, even if you threw Kiko into the deal.
  2. Maybe the Colts will trade Luck for Dareus. They have a bad defense, right? (Where is the sarcasm emoticon?)
  3. The run defense started off very well, but starting at week 7, with 158 yards given up to MN, and 175 to the Jets the following week, the run defense was pedestrian to poor. Their ranking at the end of the year may have been better, but they are hardly dominant in that department. It was the pass rush and secondary that was the strength of that defense. Ryan has a solid history of excellent run defense. This team will be better.
  4. R. McKelvin is not going anywhere this year. He is a solid NFL starter, signed for multiple years yet, at a reasonable starting CB number for this year. Darby might be intended to ultimately replace McKelvin or Gilmore, but not this year barring injury. What happens if they can't keep Gilmore next year? The Bills would be very happy to have McKelvin I would say. The only CB getting cut is probably Brooks, again barring injury.
  5. I agree with you on this eball. I so wanted to believe that the Bilks had competent coaching that I talked myself into it, but the difference with this staff is so obvious. Competent professional coaching in Buffalo. It's been a while. I am optimistic based on what we have seen and heard so far. Now if the Sabres can actually find a real coach ...
  6. That's awfully cynical of you ... Not that I disagree.
  7. Since when did Brady or the Pat**organization have any class?
  8. This is overall a very good take. I think McKelvin starts to open the season at least, but could certainly lose reps to Darby if the kid lives up to his promise, or if he gets injured. Richie is the right guard, and Miller the left. I think it will be a real battle between Henderson and Kuandjo for the RT spot. I am hoping EJ wins the job, but I am not confident he will.
  9. There is a good editorial in this morning's Washington Post discussing why Brady and the Pats** deserved the punishment they received. I think it is a fair assessment. http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/sports/wp/2015/05/10/tom-brady-patriots-can-blame-only-themselves-for-nfls-harsh-deflategate-punishments/ In part: "The suspension, which is justified, is not about how much of an illicit advantage the Patriots gained (probably not much), the behavior of the NFL (suspect at best) or the flaws within Ted Wells’s report (numerous). Poking those holes dances around the crucial issue: Brady flouted a rule, and then lied about it to the public and to investigators. The latter matters as much as the former."
  10. He is also the reporter that gutted Marrone when he was interviewing for the Jets.
  11. The NFL will rake away his hair gel for two weeks. Tommy is suicidal but survives.
  12. Hilarious. The Eagles are about to be the NFL's biggest train wreck, with Chipper in the conductor seat.
  13. Apparently many people, in and outside the Bills fan community, as we have been treated to a steady diet of "the Bills could have had OBJ by staying put". The two are not comparable. Watkins is the better player by far, but was hamstrung by the leagues worst OC and Kyle "checking out now" Orton.
  14. Although with what draft pick he does not say. Chances are, if they had taken with their third round choice, Mel would have derided them for "reaching", and for failing to pick up an OL. Post draft ratings, his in particular, are useless.
  15. Sounds pretty good to me. Solid competition for a very important position.
  16. A couple of points: 1. I am not sure what people did not understand about "best player available" but Whaley has been saying this for quite some time. No position selected should have been a surprise. 2. As far as DB is concerned, it is questionable whether they will be able to retain Gilmore after next year, McKelvin is also closer to the end than the beginning and expensive, and Graham is at the tail end of his career. Despite everyone's love of Robey, and I get it, he is not a starting CB in this league, not even a number 3. Cockerel is filler. Yes, the Bills need a good DB to groom. 3. I know nothing of this player, which I am certain is the same level of knowledge of virtually every other poster here. Excuse me, but I defer to the people who do this for a living. 4. Nor sure what people were expecting at pick 50 - hot sex? I think this does fill a need. We will see if he can play.
  17. He probably should not but QBs are routinely over-drafted, so I would be surprised if either Petty or Grayson were still available in the third round.
  18. Followed by the last two years the Skins have had? No thanks. The Skins are a long way from being Cometitive, muck less dominant. I would take the Bills current situation over theirs
  19. I am pretty sure there is plenty of cocaine and alcohol to be had in Buffalo.
  20. Great choice.
  21. You could say that about every team. If Tom Brady goes down in week one, that Pats are more likely a 4 and 12 than the Bills with Manuel or Cassel at QB. The Bills are a more talented team across the board, except at QB where they are merely adequate. They won nine games last year with Orton/EJ and they have improved the coaching and offensive talent. This team does not win less than 9 games unless decimated by injuries. Less than 10 is a disappointment; 12 is possible.
  22. I think it's time for a "Why ESPN should fire Mike Rodak" thread.
