  1. It should not be a surprise to anyone that Jerry Jones would lead the charge on a conversation to move the Bills to Toronto. There is simply more money for everyone to be made there. It remains to be seen whether any bid from the Toronto group will be viable, what the stadium options will be, how they can manage the players and the CBA, etc. but they are certainly going to take a hard look, and the mouth from the south will lead the charge.
  2. There is little question in my mind that, overall, this Bills team is the most talented they have had across the board in some time. They have one of the top D Lines in the NFL, have significantly added to their LB's at starting and back up positions (in addition to having a budding superstar in Kiko), and despite losing Byrd still have a very talented group of DBs. On the offensive side, many would consider the tandem of Spiller/Jackson to be among the best, if not the best, pair of running backs in the NFL and they have added a talented player to that. Woods and Goodwin showed great potential for their roles in their rookie year. They added Williams via trade who has some impressive numbers and talents on his own. They have a potential all pro LT in Glen, one of the leagues most solid Centers in Wood, and have added considerable talent at LG and RT to go along with some decent potential late round OL prospects and a few that were already on the roster. They do not have a superstar at TE but what they have adequate. This all comes down to one thing: If you believe EJ will make a big step forward this year and be even an above average NFL starting QB in his second year, then trading for the right to select Watkins will make a huge difference. This offense lacked a true Number 1, consistent threat at WR. I have always been a fan of Stevie but he was not it. Williams is, at worst, a wash with Johnson and I think will be an upgrade. Combined with Goodwin, Woods, and Williams the Bills could have a scary offense with Watkins. It all comes down to EJ. Many here do not believe EJ will justify the confidence the Bills have shown in him. Thats fine. The jury is out. I saw both good and bad, but just not enough of either to say for sure. The Bills obviously believe in him and have surrounded him with great talent. Many fans do not believe in the coaching staff. I do. I think Whaley has done a heck of a job so far, and that his moves in this draft do not signal anything approaching desperation to keep his job as many posters here have said and some media as well. I think last year's and this year's move simply signal belief in what they are doing and confidence in the coaches and players they have brought in. For all these reasons, I believe the Bills are very close to being a serious contender and I have not said that for a long time. To the original OP, these are my reasoned opinions, and if you think they smack of "kook-aid drinking", in any flavor, I have two words for you which taken together are not allowable under the TSW policy. As for the comparison to Trent Edwards and the train wreck of a team at that time, I do not see any comparison at all.
  3. I think your "<1% " is off on this board by at least a factor of 50.
  4. They needed someone to throw the ball during rookie mini camp.
  5. Every team selects DB every year. You need at least 8 on your 53 man roster. You can always get better.
  6. And that is what they got yet you are bashing Whaley in another thread for that.
  7. Johnson was no better than 4th best in this new unit. A 4th, possible 3rd for SJ and his contract is better than expected.
  8. The Bills are considerably better at the WR position today than they were at the end of last year. I was always a big fan of SJ but there is little doubt he would have been no better than 4th best in the current group. It was a necessary move to clear him out and make room, plus they recovered the 4th they put up for Watkins, and possibly upgrading to a third. Great moves all told. Whaley has made this team much better this offseason and we still have two more days of drafting.
  9. How so? Cleveland haas terrible team, with no QB, and they are worried about the 2015 draft? I think I you are mistaken.
  10. No - when she dumps him, he is going all the way gay. (not that there is anything wrong with that)
  11. Manziel - Cleveland Clowney - Houston Bortles - Minesota Mack - Jacksonville Evans - Tampa
  12. I am with you, Bill, on Watkins. I do not think his college game will translate and he will be a big disappointment. That said, I do not see the Bills trading up for him at all. People love the skill positions and flashy players, but the Bills biggest need is a true starting OT for the right side, and if a potentially dominant one is there, they should jump. This is the biggest thing they can do to help the offense this year. They need two tackles - RT vs. LT not a big deal to me. It matters that they do not give up sack, and can run, from either side. I do not agree with you on Manuel and would not advocate taking any of these QB's in the top ten, or for the Bills to take one at all at least through the first two rounds..
  13. There is a great deal of buzz on Martin in the past week. Not sure he makes it past the Giants at 12. If the other three OTs were off the board, and it came down to Martin or Ebron, as boring as it is I would take Martin. I am not sold on Ebron and I think it is much more likely that plugging Martin in at RT would have a more immediate impact on success of the offense than having Ebron. I would look to get a TE prospect in Rd2. This is not an exciting approach, and fans will certainly be upset, but RT is a glaring hole on this team and needs to be fixed.
  14. I would not trade two steaming piles of horse manure for Tony Romo.
  15. I guess SJ at the voluntary workouts and participating in Manuel's boot camp were just mirages, since he has a bad attitude and poor work ethic. This guy has only ever had positive things to say about Buffalo, the Bills, and his team mates but he has a bad attitude? You don't like the guy fine, but these are BS complaints, even though they have been often repeated.
  16. I am not buying this mock at all. One QB in round 1 and not until 20? I just don't buy it. That said, if all three top OTs are off the board, I think the Bills trade down.
  17. You have no idea how to debate actually. You continue to quote a phrase I used, ignoring the detail explanations provided and pretending you did not see it or understand it, in order to justify your ridiculous rant. If you are going to quote me do not ignore the explanations. It just makes you look stupid.
  18. I will try to speak more slowly. That phrase refers to the fact that Incognito was accused of using, among other means, racist language aimed at Martin in what Martin said was a pattern of bullying behavior. If you recall any of the backlash over this you will recall much discussion in the media and among players of whether racism is or is not still a problem. Other players accused Incognito of this as well, others defended him. I am not suggesting a conclusion either way. As my response to another poster went to try and explain, whether he is racist is completely besides the point now. There is a perception that he is, and any team that hired him would certainly be accused of at least accepting if not fostering an environment where that is OK. I cannot explain it any more simply than that. If you still do not understand it, I can't help you.
  19. I am not sure if any of this rant was referring at all to my posts - it seems to - so in case it does let me clarify a couple of things. First, you clearly did not understand anything said. Second, "to the dim", it is not worth explaining to you. STFU yourself.
  20. Forgive me, but from what I recall, much of his alleged bullying revolved around racist remarks. There is certainly disagreement over whether he is or is not, or whether what he did constituted bullying, who knew what, who cared, etc. but none of that matters. Perception is reality and he would be a cancer on any locker room he was inserted into at this point.
  21. I cannot believe it took this long for this thread to appear. Richie boy is done in the NFL. He has had his second, and third chances and is now the poster boy for racist locker rooms, fair or not. He should be looking into a real estate license, or applying at car lots. This is not a guy any team would want in their player mix at this point.
