Even better is that they hope to announce the team that is moving just prior to or at the same time as the Super Bowl on the 7th. That is right...they plan to buy the Bills within a month.
Jones needs all the money from his ticket sales to help pay for his new stadium. I can understand what he means by that, but he has to understand that the league was founded and was able to become what it is because of revenue sharing. The Mara's (for example) made sacrifices and gave up huge profits to allow it to flourish. Jerry can't expect things to change just for him.
I'm starting to lose my enthusiasm for Shannahan. I think we really need a strong football guy in the front office to start. Then we need to take a look at some good up and coming assistants or some of the college guys.
He might have actually been describing his own high school experience. Seriously, who cares? He has some legit points. Save this and if Shanahan takes the job, then you can contact him.
Spend the big bucks and hire Cowher. If they do that, they could raise ticket prices to offset the cost of bringing him in. I would not mind paying extra money for that. Cowher could even take what we have in place and find ways to win.
I think they should sell or move some of the struggling NHL teams to Europe. Why not let Phoenix go to Moscow. Send the Panthers to Stockholm. In the future, you could put other teams in hockey friendly cities like Prague and figure out a way to schedule games in a sane manner. The league would become the first truly international league.
The Chargers are very likely leave. Then the Jags will go to San Diego, the Bills will go to Jax and the Rams will go to Buffalo.
Mark my words this will all happen.
The Chargers are likely to move to LA. I've heard someword from reliable people that the deal is in the works. However, the people building the stadium in LA want an NFC team as well. I would not be surprised to see the Rams go back.
I'm done with football this year. I'll just root for the Sabres- they need support and they look ok so far. Tonight is an early big test against the Red Wings. I'd urge fans to get behind these guys.
This guy has to get it through his thick head that we are not for sale- at least not yet. However, I think the timing has never been better for him in terms of either landing the Jaguars or bringing the Rams back. My money is on Jacksonville.
I think Cowher would be the best fit and could whip this gang into shape. I just don't think he wants to walk into this. I am having a hard time seeing any of the guys like Shanahan, Gruden or Cowher coming here. Gruden has a cushy network job that he probably won't walk from. Our only hope would be to have a talented and up and comer who is a an OC or DC somewhere come in. Or a hungry and highly regarded college coach. Would that kind of person want to come to Buffalo to commit possible career suicide early? I doubt it. I just think we are in a real mess right now. One that many of us saw last year and could have been solved in the off season.
T.O., despite what people perceive, is not a big party guy. He is a homebody. I wouldn't read into that comment too much. Also, I think we all know that buffalo has better nightlife than New Orleans.
This guy is merely stating fact. I think we need to grow thicker skins. The guy from Providence paper a few weeks back was truly an ass. This guy is not.
Rankings are silly- especially at this stage. I like to be underrated anyway. Things will be much more clear soon. Lets see how we do against the Saints and then see where things shake out.
As much I was down on the Bills going into last week, this week I am more encouraged. The Bills are not as bad as I thought and thr Bucs really are not that good. It's our home opener and I see a good rebound. I will say Bills 28-Bucs 10
