They are putting enough new hotels up in Buffalo so that I feel the draft could one day work there. 5-10 years ago- no chance. If the Pegulas play the good soldiers and build a new stadium downtown, the Super Bowl won't happen but I can guarantee Roger and the influential owners would award the draft as thank you. The NHL draft was a huge success by all reports. Buffalo could pull
It off.
I recall tailgating in 1978- I know the exact year because it was Bengals-Bills and we lost 5-0. We tailgated with several families and cooked out . I was 8 but recall it well. I remember other parties going on. This was in a main lot near the stadium.
I always thought I might get a small Bills tattoo if they ever won one Super Bowl. I'd probably not as I feel too old and think it wouldn't look good for me. I'm just hoping it ever gets to the point again where I'd have think about it happening.
I love the idea of a new stadium
downtown, but if they can do a full renovation like Arrowhead, why not? Someone said that the Ralph is not suited for that but I can't see why not. I'm moving more to the renovate camp.
No offense to Orlando (i have a condo in Cocoa Beach and know Orlando well), but I think alot of the allure and reward of the Pro Bowl for players was the nice trip to Hawaii. I guess the draw for the players now is that the ones with families can do all the parks of Disney and there is less travel. I recall growing up back in OP in the 70's and we were friends with a lot of the Bills staff and families (PR etc.) and Ralph Wilson used to send everyone to the Pro bowl as a nice annual bonus. I remember them all being excited about going as Hawaii was still a little exotic at that time.
I remember really hoping to get Rivers or Big Ben badly that year. I knew we reached and settled for Losman. It's astounding that we have failed to get anything right at the QB position for so long.
No surprise and you can't argue with it. I do feel like the misery is going to come to an end soon- Sabres are improved and headed in right direction, at least.
I'm not pleased that Mario went to the Dolphins- I think he still has the capacity to do some damage and I'm sure he will be motivated the days they play us.
