I agree. I've actually felt this way for a while. I hate when we didn't re-sign Pat Williams, Nate Clements, Winfield, all because they earned the paycheck we couldn't give them. I think parity would still exist, but agree that teams that can't draft or won't spend the money will suffer. But shouldn't they? Btw, I'm pry gonna change my name to FireRex, so please don't think I'm copying you. Or, take it for the homage that it is :-)

The only way that the "rich get richer" is with teams that have good GM's and drafts. I don't have a problem with that. If a team drafts a good team and get an extra bonus to re-sign them and FA's that've been with the team for 3+ years, then more power to them.

I've always wondered why the NFL doesn't use cap breaks to help teams re-sign their own players. The NBA does a similar thing, allowing for home teams to offer players more money than other teams to stay with them. They still have to shell out the money, but it only counts a fraction against the cap. So, if we gave Glenn 12 million, only 10 million would count against the cap. If the purpose is continuity, I think this is a great idea. There would be provisions. Like, drafted players get a 20% cap exemption. FA's who've been with your team for 3 or more years get a 10%. Thoughts? Reasons why it wouldn't work?

While I appreciate the numbers and slander from some, the point was more about those responsible and the end result it's yielded the team. That, and how it makes those writing the checks feel. Yes, "worst" could be a matter of perception. It's been said that way on a few sites. Let's just say, not good or bad. Would that appease? I feel like the Bills are the movie "money pit". I knew how close we were to the new cap, but the worst? While I know why, I can't understand how the Pegula's are going to be okay with this for long. Yes, we just extended Whaley, but 9-7, 8-8, no signs of improvement and spending more than everyone else? I mean, logic would dictate there's a huge problem here, right? Sure, refer to all the other threads where we cut Mario, but that's just to re-sign other impending FA's. Either way, we are gonna be up there and I have to imagine that the leash is going to be short, contracts for Rex and Whaley or not.

Holy crap are people short sighted. Wade was out of the league last year and there were over 10 defensive coordinators hired. No one wanted him. He's done well where he's gone, but always gets the boot. He inherited a great team in Denver and, to his credit, built a great scheme with it. But to act like he's the second coming right now... The man didn't wear a headset as our coach. No idea what was going on. He's like Buddy Ryan, great coordinator, just not built to be a coach. Pry the same with Rex

I just can't get on board with paying him that much. I like Glenn, but he's not a mauller. I get how his stats work out, but scheme has a lot to do with it. TT running has a lot to do with it. This is the same like that was atrocious the year before. With our cap situation and needs at LB, I'm okay with letting him go and either drafting a guy or getting a B range guy in FA. If we can make it work and still accomplish our other goals, then great.

Half of those teams can't afford $19 mil or have a starter that they aren't moving on from. You think the Ravens, Chargers, Cowboys, lions, bears, Saints, and cards are gonna pay that for a backup or cut their starter for him?

Questions: 1 - How do owners make money by getting a new stadium? Owners have to pay something towards the cost of the stadium. I don't see how the cost of relocating a team equals a huge cash-in? 2 - Why are the Rams moving and not the chargers and Raiders? Why did the Rams get that Stadium instead of having 2 teams voted to go there? Did each team have their own separate stadium plans? I thought the idea was always two teams to go there and share a stadium. I'm sorry, I just don't get the logistics but find the whole thing interesting.
