  1. BPA, probably. By a lot over a position of need? No. As of right now, we aren't any better on paper than we were last year. We have no one at LB and the very next pick was a quality LB. With Kyle, Dareus, and Hughes, we should be able to plug in a 3rd/4th round DE and let them get a decent rush. I would even argue that WR was a bigger need. Your first pick should be a diffference maker at a position of need. This wasn't it for me. Great player. Good kid. BPA. We had great talent last year and Rex !@#$ed that up. Just can't get excited about this like so many others.
  2. So, how are we any better with Lawson than we were last year? We saved money and replaced Mario. Too many other needs to make this pick
  3. I'm going to get absolutely roasted for this, but whatever. Anyone else concerned with how he looked in the Pro Bowl? I mean, dude just looked lost and had happy feet out there. For a scrimmage and people not trying too hard, Tyrod looked visibly rattled out there in comparison to everyone else. There's a part of me bracing for a step back. Not because of the pro bowl exactly, but because I just don't think any decent qb should be capable of looking like that
  4. If the point is to insinuate that we need to take a stud WR in the draft, then I see your point and agree. We need a burner like Harvin as our offense was a lot difference with two out there. If the point is, WTF, shouldn't Rex being our coach be enough to worry about?
  5. I love seeing people all over the place. It's such a crapshoot, but it sure is fun to speculate.
  6. If this is an option, I'll do the same thing. It'd be worth it for the Jersey and the ability to see if Rex really can woo a man.
  7. No one asked how much he is worth. They asked what he'll get. Bradford, Osweiler aren't worth their contracts. Their positions and lack of options make the supply and demand incredible.
  8. The convo starts at 20 mil whether we like or not. And if we don't give it to him, someone else will
  9. Agreed. Because Rex wanted to be cute and drop everyone into coverage with no rush. The next game, we played more man and rushed. That game was much closer. Again, in the league of elite TE's, the lb shouldn't be covering them. It's the safety's job. I'm not saying they can't play coverage, but it should be the exception
  10. I have to say, impressive and well thought out. Your logic makes sense. I hate waiting until 32 to pick, but I think this draft is deep enough where it works. I definitely agree on Lynch and Cook going in the first round to teams trying to trade back into the first round. Denver makes a ton of sense here.
  11. Not joking, but do we care about our linebackers ability to cover? In today's league, they are either blitzing or stopping the run. Our safeties are taking the TE's these day worthy of covering. The league has changed so much that I feel most linebackers only cover in zone or on plays where we are disguising coverages.
  12. I think the general consensus is that there really aren't guys like that at all in this draft, save one or two
  13. Quite simple. Say who you want them to draft, who you would hate to see them draft, and who you expect to see them draft. Feel free to add whatever comments you want. Bragging rights are always there postmortem. Love Pick: 1a - Reggie Ragland ILB Alabama - We need a guy who can run the D and he ran the great D of Bama. I don't know much about him, but sounds great on paper 1b - Paxton Lynch QB Memphis - I get the same immature vibe from him, but the dude kinda reminds of Aaron Rodgers as a college kid. Arm, size, stature. The great GM's say you take one every year if you can. I like taking him ahead of the Jets. I like having someone not EJ on the bench. And I like the rookie salary for 5 years. It's worth a swing and maybe a miss. Hate Pick: Shaq Lawson DE Clemson - I just hate letting a player go and then wasting our first pick on replacing them. It feels like treading water, not improving. Expect Pick: Robert Nkemdiche DT Mississippi - I think they want a true NT so they can put Kyle and Dareus on the wings, then let the OLB's run free. If we are going to be all in on Rex, then it makes sense. But I just hate to grab a guy that only fits in certain schemes and will be underutilized with a new coach next year possibly.
  14. Agreed, but mobile qb's not named Cam are more prone to it. As TT showed last year. If someone put odds on him finishing a full season heathy, I wouldn't take 50/5 on it.
  15. I've now seen two mocks, one on sport line where Paxton Lynch goes top 15. Based off the amount of attention we've thrown his way, I wonder if a trade up would happen. I'm not advocating that. I honesty don't see any standout talent for us, just a lot of depth. I'm a TT guy, but also understand that he can get hurt. So if it's a qb that we can lock up for 5 years that could end up being the guy, I'll trust the front office to make that call. Personally, with such a deep draft, I'd prefer to trade out of the first and get the Stanford or penn state kid in the 4th round or later
  16. Nothing higher than a 4th, but I don't think there's a chance in hell he pans out. The idea of him being our 2017 starter is an absolute joke
  17. If we could fit another linebacker and defensive lineman into our budget, I'd be much happier going into the draft.
  18. If owners who hired HC's that didn't perform in the first two seasons were inept fools, almost all of them would be
  19. I thought the racial undertones in Zootopia were a bit much. I get the message, but it was beaten to a pulp. Batman vs Superman was fantastic. If you read the comics and knew all the references and stories they touched on, it was actually brilliant. If you didn't like Man of Steel, then you won't like this. I think that everyone wants to have an opinion and it's easier to hate something because it doesn't match your vision. This isn't the Reeves Superman and it's not Nolan's Batman. It's Frank Millers Batman and it's Loeb's Superman. And they are considered the best writers for each characters of all time. If you want bubblegum comic movies, watch Avengers.
  20. As for my definition and understanding. A DT in a 4-3 is a DE in a 3-4. So a NT would come in and we'd have Dareus and Kyle on the outsides. All of our normal DE's become OLBs. Correct?
  21. So hold on, I thought a 3-4 had a NT and 2 DE's on the line. Are you saying that it's a NT and 2 DT's? I'm honestly confused.
  22. That's the thing about this whole switch that bugs me. I don't claim to really understand the perfect players fit for a 3-4 or 4-3. I know that Dareus and Kyle are DT's in a 3-4 and you want a big, space eating NT for a 3-4. I don't think that Dareus is that kind of a NT, but I don't think he's a DE in that scheme either. Basically, we are taking people who are All-Pros in one position and moving them to a place that diminishes their talents. And now, we have created more positions that we have to fill because of the scheme change when we already have plenty of other positions to fill
  23. If they are looking at them as NT? Yes. Because we have needs at other places to waste a first round pick on a position we already have a 15 mil guy at.
