Bills announce contract extension for Tyrod Taylor
Virgil replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I still don't see the benefit here. If TT proves his worth this year, we he's going to get a deal next year and we need the franchise tag for Gilmore next year. So, the only reason to get a deal done now is to prevent needing the tag next year and not hosing ourselves ala Fitz style. Pushing the deal down two years is even worse in my opinion. If he's the guy two years down the road still, it's only going to cost us more -

If this doesn't have a team option after 2 years, this makes no sense. Is the idea to throw money at him in good faith and hope he returns the favor if earns a long term deal? If not, he's getting 3 this year and the tag is 22ish next year. So what's the point in this? If they want to do 2 years for 20 mil, I'd be better with that. The first reference to a 3 year deal with a team option for more makes the most sense to me. -
2016 Win/Loss Prediction Per Game - BBFS Edition
Virgil replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Every year we have one, if not two games, that we lose that we thought couldn't happen. Equally, we pull out a win we weren't supposed to either. So I can't question it too much -
What will our record be in Preseason??

It's my passive aggressive way of saying that's it's unimportant, means nothing, so don't worry about it. You can buy my translator book at Borders..... -

I was so wrong 3 - Arizona L 30-16 - We can't win them all. Good team. It's okay. Bradyless Pats next week 4 - @New England - L 16-10. What the !@#$?!? Did that happen? Even without Brady!!!! 5 - @Los Angeles - W - 23-10. Okay, back over .500 with easy games coming up. Pats game was a fluke 6 - San Francisco -W - 31-27. Phew! That was too close. Didn't like that, but we are 4-2, I'll take it 7 - @Miami W - 21-10. 5-2, Playoffs here we come!!!! We are untouchable. Rex for Prez 8 - New England L 38-10. God !@#$ing damn it!!! We will never win with Brady in our league. D sucks. O sucks. 9 - @Seattle L - 31-17. Okay, 5-4 going into our bye week. Seattle is tough. If we win the next few.... 10 - Bye - Best weekend in football. Everyone is calm. Teams with better records lose. Time for November 11 - @Cincinnati L 27-21. Bills announce contract extension for Tyrod Taylor
Virgil replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's science. He's gonna be a star!!! -
He's on his rookie deal and missed a whole season. Sorry, this is how it works. I feel no sympathy for him. He can bleed teams after this deal is up, hopefully get his extension next year

Brady will soon fall off cliff, figuratively

We have the money this year and next. If I can make a deal with a decent out clause after year 2/3, I'm good with it. -
TOD 7/26: REX - love or hate him?
Virgil replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hate how he makes us look. At least we lost before and no one seemed to care. Now we get to have a spotlight on our failures. Plus, for someone with BBFS, it's not nice to give us hope. We don't know how to reject it and it only brings us down harder. -
Now that's actually a really interesting thought. If I'm not mistaken, he went all INT happy in the 4th quarter. If he wins that game, imaging how different things would be right now. People would be losing their minds in NY and I bet he's already locked up 2-3 years in the 12-15 range. I'm trying to think of anyone who had one quarter of play crush them heading into the next season. And yes, I know that the Jets are tight for money, but they would've need to find a way to get it done

Thank you!

In this crazy hypothetical..... It's more about crippling the Jets than anything else. Yes, we swept them, but they won 10 games. And yes, I do believe that Fitz is better than EJ. No question to me. If Fitz was willing to take the money to be a back-up, it would be worth it to me. Especially if we aren't spending it on someone else. Look at last year, my pet rock would have beaten the Jags at QB. Fitz is not god's gift my any means, but he's better than butt-fumble. That team needs a game manager at best and Fitz can do that. It's when he has to go into gun-slinger mode in the 4th that the int's come out. If I'm a Broncos fan, I'm much happier with Fitz to start until Lynch is ready I'd give him a mil more than what the Jets are offering, which is maybe 7 mil a year? And again, we aren't spending it anywhere else so who cares. You can't roll it over
-
No matter how much I say this won't happen, someone is going to take this seriously, but oh well. The Jets are nothing with Geno or their rookie at the helm. Literally nothing. Yet, they still float Fitz in the wind. TT is good to miss 2-4 games with injury based off his style of play. We aren't signing Gilmore or TT this offseason. Sign Fitz. Have a strong backup. Completely eliminate the Jets as competition. Laugh out loud. Yes, I know. Fitz wants to start. We aren't paying a back-up that money. Yadda yadda yadda. But in bizarro world where this happens, I wouldn't hate it. I still can't believe the Broncos haven't gone after him.

Can't remember his name, but he cared a lot about what kind of car I drove
-
Right now, the floor for TT is 18 mil. If Osweiler got 17, TT is getting a min of 18. Outside of Luck, the next top 5 make about 22 mil a year. With that, there is absolutely no reason to jump the gun on TT if the variable is only 4 mil a year. If he does great, we paid an extra 2-4 mil a year to be sure of our investment. Well worth it. If he tanks and we signed him, it's Fitz all over again. I like TT. I want him to do win the job and be the man for years to come. But we are in a great situation with him right now. My biggest fear, he only plays in 75% of the games, plays great in half of those and average in the remainder and we are forced to guess next season yet again.

I lost my **** when Brady ready his letter
