Sorry, but it would be a terrible look for the players to make a fuss on this. Folks are risking their lives going to work for minimum wage right now. Plus it’s not like it’s cash going back into owners pockets One word-sponsorships. The Jets and Giants receive $ from almost every company that sells a food or beverage item in the building.

I think if you look at the Pats roster objectively it’s not in great shape. For the first time in a while they are going to have a lot of cap space in 2021. That’s usually a sign that you haven’t drafted well and don’t have many players on your roster that you want to pay. As for this year, their offensive line is still the best in the division (although their legendary oline coach retired again). Outside of that their offense is a question mark. On defense their best players are definitely older.

Ranking the AFC East secondaries: Pats still # 1?

Their front 7 was overrated. BB was able to blitz the ***** out of teams bc coverage was on point. -
Ranking the AFC East secondaries: Pats still # 1?

Jamal Adams is pretty good...not going to lie. Truth is AFC East is pretty loaded on defense (Bills, Jets, and Pats all finished top 10 last year) -

Not going to happen. ABI has a $230MM sponsorship deal with the NFL. -
Bears decline 5th year option on Trubisky
JetsFan20 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Idk-He’s talented (picked #2 overall for a reason), but his coach by all accounts can’t stand him and insinuated that he doesn’t work hard enough. Guys like that don’t profile as great backup QB. The backup QB job is as much about about helping the starter prepare as it is about actually playing in games. There is a reason why teams arent lining up to sign Cam Newton as their backup right now. -
Alex Smith Injury-Redskins Cap Space
JetsFan20 replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it would be pretty easy. Teams would apply for review and an the league would consider each case individually. The Jets for example actually fined Quincy Enunwa for missing a rehab assignment last year to take his wife out to lunch for Veterans Day (his wife is in military). Quincy is coming off a second serious neck injury and is likely done in the NFL. He’s not going to go to the team with an injury settlement because he’s not going to risk losing a dime of his guaranteed $ from the team. The league should step in as an intermediately and tell the Jets that they still have to pay him his guaranteed $, but he doesn’t count against their cap unless activated. That way instead of putting up with BS he can move on with his life and the team can plan accordingly. -
Bears decline 5th year option on Trubisky
JetsFan20 replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember Trubisky was #2 in ESPNs QBR in 2018. Think twice before citing these arbitrary stats like they are scripture (PFF is no different) -
I’m sure many of you read the article on Alex Smiths injury and saw the gruesome pictures that accompanied it. One thing that I wanted to point out is that Alex Smith accounts for 21MM against the cap this year and he cannot retire without risk of losing guaranteed $. I wish the NFL would create a system where players coming back from specific career threatening injuries do not count against the cap. It would allow the player the choice to either rehab or move on with their life.

Final result of the Marcel Dareus trade for Buffalo:
JetsFan20 replied to warrior9's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Jets took a DT out of Alabama #3 overall just last year. Everybody wants CBs and athletic S and LBs that cover in today’s NFL (even edge rusher seems devalued). That said this is all fluid. Look at the more innovative offensive coaches in the league (McVay/Shannhan). They are building in the trenches around strong running games. Look at how Green Bay got gashed in the NFC Championship game. SF won with Jimmy G completing 5 passes! -
How do you judge a team's offensive line?
JetsFan20 replied to BritBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I personally think it’s a teams run game thats the best indicator. All these advanced metrics on pass blocking efficiency/pressure rate are overstated. You can reduce pressure rate by throwing short/quick hitting passes. Also Texans and Seahawks always rate low in large part because Watson and Wilson are crazy athletes and can hold the ball longer than other QBs. Run blocking is typically easier than pass blocking. If a team can’t run block. If the line can’t run block it likely can’t do much of anything. -
Why the NFL Draft is my favorite sports event of the year
JetsFan20 replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Blind Hope. Same thing a Bills fan had from 1999-2017. -
The NFL draft reminds me of that family guy episode where Peter is offered the option of a boat and the mystery box. “A boats a boat but the mystery box could be anything-it could even be a boat” No matter who your team drafts you can always find someone who will tell you what a great pick it is and pop up a YouTube video of his highlights that will get you excited. The reality is that 8/10 of these guys become afterthoughts within a year or two. The hit rate after the first two rounds is incredibly low and in rounds 4-7 it’s microscopic. Nonetheless I think every fan walks away from the draft thinking their team just acquired 5-6 new starting players. Everybody is a winner after the draft as a fan. Even if you didn’t initially like the picks your team made you can always talk yourself into it after the fact.

The team that I think takes a big step back this year is the Ravens. Their division is much improved (Burrow, Stefanski, Big Ben) and I think you can argue Baltimore is the third most talented team on paper. 1) KC-Champs and Loaded 2) TEN-Remind me of 2009/2010 Jets (built for short term success) 3) IND-Best oline in football + Rivers + Buckner on defense which will fix bad run D 4) CLE-Loaded roster + coach who knows what he’s doing 5) PIT-Best defense in AFC + Big Ben fixes offense 6) BAL-Won’t catch teams off guard this year 7) BUF-Loaded roster could jump to 2 if Allen improves 8 )HOU-Major questions on defense. Watson keeps them competitive 9) NE-Still coached by BB and own the best secondary in AFC and best oline in AFC E 10) LAC-Could be this years Tennessee Titans-sneaky good roster. What do they get out of TT/Herbert? 11) OAK-Offense is stacked, but Carr is mediocre. Issues on defense 12) DEN-Still a year away 13) NYJ-Still a year away 14) MIA-Still a year away 15) CIN-Still a year away 16) JAX-End of the line for Dougie

The Jets made a lot of really smart moves in the offseason for a change. The Dolphins went big game hunting, but the Jets added a depth At key spots and built up the middle of their roster.

She also got first hand accounts from people who did not believe this woman (while also admitting that the sources couldn’t confirm/deny these actions happened). CNN, NBC, NY Times, and Washington Times have pretty much buried this.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19
JetsFan20 replied to Hedge's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I think that’s the issue right now governors are dealing with in regards to reopening a. Big states like PA and NY where the hotspots are isolated to the major cities makes things complicated.
