Divisional Round: Buffalo at KC Sunday at 6:30

The team's success at keeping guys fresh this year is a huge thing. Add the power running game we threw in this month and It's starting to feel like the Bills play chess, not checkers. -

Holley lost his mind. All the crap they’ve been spouting about the Pats this season was revealed to be a delusion, and he went into denial. Wow. New England superiority complex dies hard. -
As we all know, all season long there was a strange sense of malaise around the Bills, all the way back to the home opener. Even when Buffalo was blowing out the Texans or Saints or other bottom dwellers, it felt not quite in sync. Sputtering. Well, last night was the most IN SYNC game I have ever seen any football team. It was a dream come true and I hope I don't wake up. Very possibly the greatest offensive performance in NFL history? YES. Massive and biggest credit to the players, who came together and have dominated since halftime in Tampa. But I think a lot of credit goes to the coaches, who made tons of wise adjustments: Featuring Singletary and not giving Moss equal touches. Fixing the O line by starting Bates and using the heavy formations with Doyle. Getting Gabe Davis more involved. Getting McKenzie involved on jet sweeps and passes. Compensating very well for Tre being out. Micah and Jordan stepping it UP. 13 sacks in the last two games with our waves of D-linemen. Edmunds tackling better and better. And maybe best of all, VERY few penalties and mental mistakes. I am so impressed with the players for sticking through all the tough sledding and staying together. And this staff for seeing the adjustments and making them, and letting the team grow into its best self. Buffalo has taken the hard choices this season to develop the team and it feels like they will be very tough to stop now. Just seeing all this growth, together with this legendary game last night, means this season will always be us as a bright spot. THIS is the team many of us thought the Bills could be. It just feels so good to finally seem them be it, and even better!

Another good thing: Buffalo is nowhere near as banged up entering the playoffs as last year. Maybe by design. Here is Josh Allen in today's Buffalo News: “Throughout the year, I know [Stefon Diggs] didn’t have as many targets and receptions as he did last year and maybe that was a little bit by design just to try to keep him fresh in the hopes that we have an opportunity to be in the playoffs,” the quarterback said. “He looks really good and I want to try to throw it to him as much as much as possible because with the ball in his hands, you never know what’s going to happen.” Like the sound of that. The Bills can go with their "A" game here on out.

I believe Buffalo wins tonight. The Bills are the better team, all the ingredients are there now to beat all comers. This could be the start of our greatest postseason ever. If it doesn’t go our way, it’s been a pleasure to share the journey with all. But… I got a feeling… Buffalo’s going to the Super Bowl.

Bills beat Chiefs, Titans beat Bengals Bills crush Titans Bills over Bucs Simple

THIS. The idea that Buffalo hasn’t tried to pass enough this season is a little cuckoo. Actually, we have been unbalanced (usually passing too much) and predictable (running and passing) too often. Complaining about a run heavy game plan in 60mph winds is overrating your own superior IQ. Bills just need to execute like they have the last 4 1/2 games. Halftime of the Bucs game the players decided to come together and execute as a team with the team spirit of 2020, after all the distractions and divisive stuff early this year. Now it’s on.

So great to see Jim Kelly with that energy! Might have a speck of dust in my eye. -
A Few Thoughts about the Jets Game, in no particular order
Ray Stonada replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Great piece. Love the observation about Phillips and Oliver feeding off each other. Also great point that they should feed Motor, and Diggs being open all the time. Sometimes wonder if we make things too complicated trying to feed seven different offensive skill players. (Diggs, Sanders, Davis, Beasley, McKenzie, Knox, Singletary. and it used to be eight when Moss shared time.) -
Daboll if you are listening...double moves will work this week!!
Ray Stonada replied to Hebert19's topic in The Stadium Wall
Throw a few quick outs to Diggs and Sanders and set up the double move to them later. One place I miss John Brown is the WR screen plays. He had that burst. -
Pretty funny from this morning's New York Times (gulp!): "The Patriots’ offense is more of a family SUV than a sports car, and while the rookie quarterback Mac Jones keeps his hands at 10 and 2 o’clock and signals before every turn, he’s not quite ready for rush hour on the turnpike. Jones’s efficiency rating on passes of 15-plus yards downfield of 58.4 ranks 27th among starting quarterbacks, per Sports Info Solutions. Force the Patriots out of their running-and-defense game plan, and Jones looks more like another Zach Wilson than the next Tom Brady."

Josh reveals he suffers from poor circulation

I was wondering if he is messing around. Just joshing? It feels like they are being so respectful of NE and Belichick and so self-deprecating: “I can’t even feel my feet in this cold” lol. Feels they could be sandbagging before unleashing a total demolition of the Patsies. -
I went to both those games. The usual two pairs of everything, foot warmers and thermos of spiked hot coffee. I remember Kelly threw a short out to Brooks four or five times and set them up for the touchdown on the out and up. And the KC game, where Bruce knocked out Montana, and Thurman went for 186 and 3 TDs. Lifetime great memory. Passing game had to be simplified and quicker with that rock hard ball. I don’t remember feeling cold at either although I’m sure we were. No one ever mentioned the need for a dome…

Last season he shared his struggles with alcohol and how he quit drinking. It makes me real happy for him that’s he’s playing better than ever, after that major life change. -
