  1. And 6 more weeks of winter.
  2. Only one I prefer.....early season Buf @ MIa. ..... No sun!!
  3. I'm not on instagram. Anyone have a picture?
  4. I've never been a big Dahlin fan. Early in his career he was inconsistent defensively and couldn't keep pucks in at the point. Sure, his game has gotten better the last year and a half. But if one defenseman not named Dahlin can cause this much of swing, it's got to be a knock on Dahlin. I know he's dinged up a bit and maybe it's a bad defensive scheme that Samuelsson covers up, but if Dahlin is a true trophy contender than the D should not be this bad.
  5. I'd rather have a free chili dog and beer!
  6. What day is it? I gotta git to Illinois.
  7. Why do I get the feeling that the title of this offseason is, "Just put a band-aid on it. It'll be fine."
  8. Other than the Taiwan Jones piece, that article offered nothing to me. Part of it is kind of an oxymoron of itself. It talks about how the Bills have all these high priced players, a rather indictment of Beane, and how our rivals are getting pieces at greater value. Then it praises Beane for his free agency moves. As we all know, the jury will deliberate on those moves well into the upcoming season. The article also has a Capt Obvious ring to it. It talks about the playoff collapses, specifically the Cincy game. That loss is all too obvious to those that watched the game. Which is why Jones had no alternative except to agree with the Uber drive. It criticizes McD's philosophy which many here have done, and arguably so. However, the article offers no real solution. It's almost like a "Part 1 of 2" where there is no Part 2.
  9. Hard to remember since MTV stopped being MTV about 4 decades ago. But one sticks out.... J Geils Band - Centerfold
  10. We'll have to refer to them as "J" and "K". Or simply call them the "Men in Black"
  11. Well, aren't we all hoity-toity! Then there's my reality.....
  12. As Granato often says in his press conferences, "It's disappointing, but it's something these young guys can learn from." I really like Granato and what he's done with the team. And this may not be the case, but it's ringing with me that it's ok to be disappointed because we'll always learn from it. I know it's gotten better, and I'm sure it's just me, but when will the learning yield better result?
  13. These QB contracts are becoming a joke.
  14. I have a similar story in Florida. In the mid 90s, a bar I used to hang out at was bought by 3 late 20ish friends (not my friends). They proceeded to make improvements and after a few months one of the guys bought out the other 2. I would chat with the sole owner occasionally. One nite I walked in and saw he had installed an automated wing cooker. I think it only held 10-12 wings and took about 15 minutes to cook. For a couple of weeks I watched in bewilderment the meager orders he could fill. One nite I had to speak up. After a couple of questions about how much he made and how many orders he was churning out I said, 'man you got dump that thing and get a commercial deep fryer. It helped my credibility that I said, 'I'm from Buffalo'. Maybe a month later I walk in and sure enough, I see him in the kitchen dropping baskets of wings in his deep fryer and he was selling alot! One of my few successes as a drunk.
  15. Over the past 4 or 5 games, I've noticed an increase in bad angle shots. I get the whole, 'shots to the net; bad rebounds, sneak one inside the post' kind of things, but it seems to me it's boosting the opponent goalie confidence bit. Skinner seemed to be locked in on what the Sabres were doing. His positioning was solid most of the night.
  16. What's with the bat? He's already got an injured knee.
  17. Stupid me. When I first read the title, I thought it said "drinking too much." Chalk it up to a mind preconditioned.
  18. Milk is a noun and a verb. And you don't need it with breakfast. I like beer in my Froot Loops. The citrusy flavors are the best.
  19. But Tua is learning to hit the ground safely. Doesn't that count for anything?
  20. This whole week is going to be tough. It'll be a huge challenge to make up any ground towards one of the elusive playoff spots.
