Dude is washed. He completely lost his speed. Towards the end of last season he was declining and he fell off a cliff this year. Chiefs are loaded at CB and have no need for him even if he had anything left in the tank. I wish him well, but he’s done. -
When the Chiefs needed to hit the gas, they scored 22 points in 9 minutes. Those three points didn't mean anything other than they'd have had to send it a possession or two sooner. What is with Patriot fans? It's like you're physically unable to give credit to anyone other than the Patriots or Tom Brady

Sean McDermott Ranks 5th Among Coaches on EDJ Sports list
Billl replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
They missed out on 9 and got 7. Let’s also recall that they had a TD except for an incredibly fluky play where the receiver, untouched, fell to the ground and concussed himself causing him to drop the ball. Outcome based judging is worthless. It’s amazing to me that so many people think that the key to knocking off the 5 time defending division champs is to play them straight up. Spoiler alert…it’s not. They didn’t lose because of poor coaching. They lost because a HOF QB coached by a HOF coach started making big plays to his HOF WR and HOF TE. It’s not the first time, and it won’t be the last. -

This simply isn’t true. People like to rant about things they don’t even understand. Nobody is talking about the Chargers first TD drive when they passed up a FG and got the first down on their way to scoring a TD. That’s at least 4 points they got because of aggression and possibly 7 had they missed the FG. Similarly, nobody seems to care that the Chargers beat the Chiefs in week 2 by going for it repeatedly and stole a win. It’s easy to ignore the times it works and blaming him when it fails. -

Taking a pitch for strike 1 is just as bad as taking a pitch for strike 3, right? -

If Beane goes Guard - RB in the first 2 rounds he should be fired before making his third pick. -
I have a very close friend who runs a couple of restaurants in KC that the Chiefs players frequent. (Several players including Mahomes and Kelce were there this Sunday after the game.) I was literally talking with him on Tuesday about how great all of the players are but the only two who ever cause problems are Jackson Mahomes and Brittany. Brittany is just kind of full of herself. Jackson sounds like a full on POS.
-
No, but that basically makes him untradeable because nobody is giving up picks for the right to pay him $13,000,000 for one season and then have him be a FA. Cutting him would make it all a dead cap hit. He’s a Bill in 2022.

Queen is the most overrated LB in the league. I don't think Edmunds is great, but the more I watch the more I think it's a function of the system he plays in. When you play a base nickel and your MLB is more of a coverage guy than a run suffer, he's going to struggle. Part of me thinks that they're willing to live with his mistakes because that's just the cost of doing business when you're running McDermott's scheme. Not everybody is going to be Luke Kuechly, so you do your best with a great athlete and know he's going to look really bad at times because you're asking too much of your MLB.

That would matter if they were like the Ravens and didn’t drop Josh back much. Allen drops back to pass as much as anyone so he gets all of those hits. Then he has several runs a game on top of it.

This may be the strangest conversation I’ve ever had. QBs who take hits in the pocket and take hits when running the ball have a greater chance to become injured than QBs who take hits in the pocket but don’t run the ball. If you can’t wrap your minds around this absolute statement of fact, I don’t know what to tell you. It’s like you’re arguing that someone who got shot is more likely to die than someone who got shot and then stabbed because more people die of gunshots than stabbings.

Is it Daboll or is it McDermott? I mean Moss and Basham were healthy scratches and Epenesa can barely get on the field (though he did play a little more yesterday). You only get 3-4 cheap years from players in this league. Getting snaps from those guys is such a huge advantage that paying guys like Sanders and Hughes $14,000,000 strikes me as a waste of resources when you’ve got their potential replacements in house.
-
I can’t figure out why Davis doesn’t get more snaps. His lack of athleticism may limit him a bit, but I’m not convinced that Sanders has more speed and quickness at this point in his career. In a league where you’re always trying to get younger and cheaper, Davis over Sanders seems like a no brainer.

Yes it will. There is going to be a staggering amount of roster churn the next two off seasons. Nearly every position group excluding QB and (probably) CB has major decisions to make.

Telling you the Facts. It has been well reported. QB is exposed in the pocket and has a better chance at getting hurt than running And I’m telling you facts. Whatever chance a QB has of getting hurt in the pocket then gets added to his chance of getting hurt in the run game. Look at the running QBs in the NFL. Lamar got hurt yesterday…again. Josh is in a boot. Murray missed multiple games. Cam Newton went from an MVP to a broken down shell of himself. Compare those guys to to all time greats we’ve seen recently with Brady, Manning, Brees, Rodgers, Rivers, and Roethlisberger. Other than a QB sneak, you pretty much never saw a designed run called for any of them. There’s a reason they all played into their late 30s and early 40s. It’s not because they never took hits in the pocket. It’s because they didn’t subject themselves to an extra 1,500 potential hits apiece over the course of their careers. Some injuries are instantaneous, but most are cumulative. Even things like ACLs are usually the result of years of stress until they finally pop, often due to non-contact situations. One week you just need an ice bath, the next week you’re in a boot. One year you’re dinged up, the next year you’re having shoulder surgery. It’s just such an unnecessary risk to rely on a QB as part of your running game unless it’s someone like Lamar who simply isn’t a threat as a pure pocket passer when the threat of a run is diminished. If Moss, Singletary, and Breida are all lost for the season, the Bills Super Bowl odds barely change. If Josh goes down, the season is over. I understand that when the game and/or season is on the line that having a guy who can run like Josh is an immensely valuable weapon, but he averages 100 attempts per year, and he’s on pace for 114 this season. If that keeps up, it absolutely will shorten his career.
-
Injuries happen MORE in the pocket than a QB on the run. That is the reality. Are you under the impression that when QBs run that they are somehow immune from getting injured in the pocket when they throw? Allen is near the very top of the league in pass attempts. He’s then got nearly 100 rushing attempts on top of those. Every one of those is an extra chance to get injured.
