Who do you think lined up across from Diggs yesterday and erased him? It was the same guy who lined up against him in the AFCCG last year and shut him out. Sneed held Diggs without a catch until his concussion. Fenton came in and Diggs caught passes on the first 2 plays. Sneed is absolutely our #1. Spagnuolo would absolutely say as much. The fact that Spags moves him all over is a testament to his skill set. Mathieu’s role is critical in this defense, and I think Spags is preparing to put Sneed in that spot next year and let Mathieu walk. He’s the best CB we’ve had in Kansas City since Dale Carter.

I’d like to draft Cobe Bryan’s and Isaiah Thomas just to screw with people.

Feel free to watch the game again. He was lined up on the boundary against Diggs every snap until Mathieu went out. Ordinarily, Fenton would have played the slot but with both out, Sneed took over that role. Sneed in our #1 CB and Ward is our #2. Fenton is our Nickel, and sometimes Mathieu covers the slot as well. Our backup CBS are Hughes and Baker. Neither of them can play the slot. They’re pure boundary guys just like Breeland was last season. Sneed played the boundary the first 4 weeks of 2020 when Breeland was out. When he returned, Sneed moved to the slot.

I’ve heard several interviews with opposing players who talk about how much faster Hill is than anyone else they’ve ever seen. The guy just instantly accelerates. It’s like he’s driving a Tesla and everyone else is driving a Mustang. If you ever want to get a true sense of his burst, don’t watch him. Focus on how defenders react when he gets the ball. Barry Sanders was the same way. He wasn’t as fast, but defenders had that same panicked look about them as they desperately flailed around hoping to not be on the wrong end of a highlight.

Even if all those guys leave, if Buffalo doesn’t bring in more talent than that via free agency there are going to be a lot of pissed off fans around here.

Why not just draft your own guy? Beane already gave up the pick that was used for Justin Jefferson to get Diggs. You want to give away another first rounder for the right to pay Metcalf $20,000,000 a year? At some point you’ve got to draft your own talent rather than overpay for the talent someone else found.

If there’s a sliver lining, winning that game would have meant a trip to Kansas City the following week. That Divisional Round game didn’t just knock the Texans out of the playoffs, it sent their entire franchise into a tailspin.

If there’s one thing Bill O’Brien has experience with, it’s blowing leads in the playoffs to the Chiefs. That 24-0 lead was a 28-24 deficit before halftime. It literally collapsed an entire franchise.

How does he not get more opportunities? In 2 years he’s had a total of 149 targets. 17 of them were TDs. Assuming 7 points per TD, that’s 119 points. He nearly averages scoring .89 points every time he’s targeted. Meanwhile, just this year Beasley got 121 targets and scored once. That’s .06 points per target. What am I missing?

I think there is zero chance he’d want out of Buffalo. If he stays, he’s owed $7.6 mm. If he leaves, he won’t get half that.

He had the exact same yards per target catching passes from Taylor Heineke, and he made $1.5 mm. I’m not saying he’s good. I’m saying that if you want a guy who can be a pure possession receiver slash third down specialist Humphrey gives you what Beasley does at 20% of the price, and you don’t have to worry that he’s in the process of falling off the athletic cliff the way Beasley is.

When he caught the pass around midfield on either the final drive or the one before, it looked like it was going to be a huge gain. He was coming across the middle with space, and Josh hit him in full stride. Then…nothing. The DB caught him like he was standing still. It was a nice gain, it he left a lot of yards on the field. I respect his career, but I think he’s just about washed. If he were making $2,000,000, I could see keeping him around as a 50 targets per year type of role player. He’s old, slow, expensive, unproductive, and a distraction. I can’t imagine keeping him let alone finding someone who wants him bad enough to give up an asset for him. Josh Allen threw him the ball 112 times, and he didn’t score a single TD. How is that even possible? 692 yards on that many targets is terrible. If a guy can’t put up numbers when an MVP caliber QB is feeding him targets, why would anyone pay him nearly $8,000,000? He’s going to be 33 in a few months, so he’s only going to get slower and less athletic. If Beane can’t find someone who can do better than 6.2 yards per target and 0 TDs for what Beasley is owed then something is big wrong. The free agent market is littered with guys who are younger, cheaper, and more productive.

I expect them to sign either Juju or Chark. I prefer Chark, but either would be deadly opposite Hill. If Byron Pringle can catch 3 TD passes already in the postseason, I can’t imagine what those guys could do.

The original idea was to donate it to a hospital in Kansas City. There was nothing mean spirited about celebrating a comeback with only 13 seconds left. Then someone pointed out that Bills fans have a history of donating to charities of other fanbases so the decision was made to give the money to the hospital Josh is affiliated with.

I’m convinced they’re drafting Linderbaum. Between the name, the college color scheme, the Steelers history of great Centers, and the fact that it’s a huge position of need for them he’s just too perfect of a fit not to go there.

Same. I don’t like a rookie GM hiring a rookie head coach. Too many first time coaches and GMs fail because off all the one-off stuff they’ve never dealt with before. All these guys know how to coach and evaluate talent. Not all of them understand how to prioritize and delegate. Flores would have been perfect.

Three of those teams had HOF QBs, and they were all able to kick their cap issues down the road until he retired. The fourth team was the number 1 seed this year. Cap issues haven’t affected any of them a bit. All of those teams had winning records. New Orleans nearly made the playoffs using a TE at QB and then even he got hurt. Their issues have nothing to do with the salary cap and everything to do with Brees retiring and Thomas refusing to play. Pittsburgh made the playoffs, and their biggest issue was the fact that Ben was a shell of his old self. That’s not a money issue. The Patriots made the playoffs with a rookie QB. If they had kept Brady, they’d have been a serious threat to win another ring this year. It’s not like he was a salary cap casualty. I guess I don’t see how these teams who went a combined 41-27 are examples of why you need to be careful with the salary cap. If anything, they’re examples of why you need a QB.

I would be surprised if Buffalo and Kansas City don’t open as the favorites for 2022. Also, it’s absolute garbage that the league doesn’t at least rotate the game between AFC and NFC hosts. If the Rams and Chiefs win, Kansas City will play on the road in consecutive seasons.
