Have the last two weeks put to rest the debate about the 2017 draft?
Greg S replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
It worked out fine for both teams. The Chiefs got Mahomes who is one of the best. It led them to getting a Super Bowl win. We got Tre who is one of the best corners and our franchise QB in the 2018 draft who is also one of the best. I think the Bills will win (hopefully) a Super Bowl within the next year or two. I still LOL at Jets fans when they used to say Darnold is better than Allen. I live in NJ and still to this day the media will bring up how the Giants and Jets passed on Allen for Barkley and Darnold. Obviously its easy to Monday morning QB as nobody thought Allen would turn out this good back then. But it hurts both fanbases knowing they could have had Allen. -
Same with Parcells. He and Simms would scream at each other on the sidelines during games (Phil said this happened) and Parcells wasn't shy about voicing his opinion in either complimenting a player or tearing him a new one. Yet he won just like Bill did.

Despite the #1 ranking the defense needs to be improved. Lack of pass rush and the inability to stop the run when facing good rushing teams needs to improve. The Titans, Colts, Chiefs, Pats (1st game) embarrassed our D. I think the offense is fine although I would like to see them to improve the OL with an upgrade in talent and depth. Maybe have to get younger at WR, will Beasley and Sanders be back? McDermott needs to do a better job with game management. Some of things he does is questionable and it goes beyond 13 seconds. Overall I think the Bills are in good shape to make another run next year.

This would make for a great Jerry Springer episode.

I thought he wanted to be the majority owner when trying to buy the Bills. But he had to put up a certain percentage of money that the league requires to be the majority owner. He didn't have it at that time. This is a game for multi-billionaires not millionaires.

As you mentioned its probably a little bit of both. McDermott wouldn't have promoted him if he didn't think he was qualified. Josh speaks highly of him as well. I am sure Dorsey was involved with Daboll with game planning during the season in their meetings. The offense probably won't change much (why fix it if it isn't broken) with exception of a few tweaks Dorsey may want to install. Continuity is good for the offense especially Josh.

No surprise. Got to keep the boss (#17) happy.

Another team that could be in danger with their logo and name. I personally think this is the best logo in hockey.

Giants cap situation and potential trade options

Barkley is damaged goods. I hope the Bills don't pursue this. -

The Bills usually seem to have one of those games where they suffer THAT LOSS. The kind of loss that kicks the fanbase right in the "Jimmy". This past year it was Jacksonville. My guess is we split with the Jets in 2022. We swept them the last 2 years and have won 5 of the last 6 so they are due for a win in the series. I just hope THAT LOSS in 2022 costs them the #1 seed. Its pretty obvious we need homefield given our road playoff record.

Bills?

I hope Allen can have half the success that Brady had. Hated him when he was a Pat but he is the GOAT.

Its been 9 days and I am still not over the loss. I don't think I will be over it until the Bills are back in the playoffs ready to make another at the Super Bowl.

Kraken is only one of 10 teams in sports whose names don't end in "s" unless I am missing a team. NBA...Heat, Magic, Thunder, Jazz NHL...Lightning, Avalanche, Wild, Kraken MLB...Red Sox, White Sox Every NFL team's name ends in "s"...Bills, Patriots, Dolphins, Jets, etc etc

Giants cap situation and potential trade options
Greg S replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
So is there anyone we could use from their roster with regards to trades? With Beane/McDermott and Schoen/Daboll as the respective GM's/HC's I expect the Giants to become the new "Detroit Lions" for the Bills as we will probably play them in preseason every year. Probably have scrimmages against them leading up to the preseason game as well. -
This is the last football game until preseason in August. I always watch the playoffs and Super Bowl. It doesn't matter if the Bills are playing or not. Of course its more fun and stressful when they are. The offseason is so long. I guess I will give the USFL a try but most likely I will just follow my Yankees during baseball season assuming they settle the strike/lockout.

Don't be surprised if Josh Allen has a bumpy 2022
Greg S replied to beebe's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think Josh is at the point where he is simply one of the best QB's in the league and he has seen every defense scheme/system thrown at him. Next year is his 5th so I don't see him regressing or having problems especially if the Bills promote Dorsey to OC. They will probably run the same offense which Josh likes and is comfortable with. Dorsey may tweak some things but overall I think it will be a continuation of what he and Daboll have been doing. But if a new OC is brought in I think Josh will adjust just fine. He has the skill, experience and success in the league to handle it. -

Considering how they suck on the road in the playoffs. I would say lets give the homefield advantage thing a try. -

The Bills need the #1 seed. I don't think there is a team that is more dependent on the home field and crowd than the Bills. In the McDermott era they are 3-0 at home in the playoffs and 0-4 on the road. Last Bills road playoff win was the 93 AFCCG over Miami. Since then 9 losses in a row on the road. If they get the #1 seed they will go to the Super Bowl. If not then history shows it won't happen. IMHO
