1. When a pass is received by both the receiver and the defender, it should be called an incomplete pass 2. Guarding the receiver should be allowed by the defender unless he makes forcible contact or interfere with the arms of the receiver, even if he is not playing the ball. I think the rule is already like this, but this is not called with consistency. This is particularly bad when the receiver initiates contact trying to catch an underthrown pass and the defender is called with the PI.

Why total yards or total points are used as main defensive metric. I think points per drive makes more sense. Surrender 30 points facing 8 drives is different than surrender them facing 12 drives.

I like NFL more this year, defenses are more able to stop offenses and the game is hard fought and balanced, maybe this is also due to declining offenses. Anyway the football of some years ago when lot of games were shoutouts was almost unwatchable. From my point of view a great improvement will be: less commercials
