  1. I think you meant to say “he had a really good game against the Bills, should’ve had multiple interceptions, and got beat on an incredible throw and catch by Allen and Diggs”
  2. Because the same people who were complaining that the Bills wouldn't have enough money to sign anyone are now complaining that the Bills aren't signing anyone
  3. Tampa and KC had similar if not worse cap situations than the Bills and they had no problem handing out huge contracts-in Tampa’s case several-so I’m not really understanding why you would be concerned about the Bills pushing money down the line. and as far as paying rookies, they are picking at the end of every round, that’s not going to cost them a whole lot. your post just seems a little too doom and gloom
  4. I don’t like this respectful discussion from 2 people on opposing sides, it’s really throwing me off!!
  5. EXACTLY! Tampa was in a similar cap situation as the Bills and they just handed out huge contracts to Brady, Godwin, David, and Barrett...the Bills can sign Smith or any guy they want
  6. WRT #4-theres ALWAYS more money. I definitely agree that they need to make sure their scouting is on point, but teams can always find more money if they have a guy they really want to sign
  7. It gets said on here all the time-there’s always ways to find money to sign guys...look at what the Saints did just today!
  8. Trading down isn't up to them though - they need a team that wants to move into their spot. There's always trades right at the end of the first round, but if I'm the Bills I'm not calling other teams to trade down
  9. I would be on board with Ertz in Buffalo - the problem is is sounds like the asking price is a 4th or a 5th and Buffalo doesn't have a 4th and I can't imagine a team can't come up with something better than a late round 5th
  10. The Bills finally have a quarterback worth paying and the amount of people on this board who want the Bills to give him a low ball offer is astounding. It’s not Josh’s job to make the salary cap work, that’s up to the front office. Make the GM earn his money. I can’t wait to read the comments of how selfish Josh is or how he’s not a team player or someone used to be a fan of his but now he has ruined the Bills shot at winning a super bowl because he signs a big contract. If you thought Josh was going to take less than $40 mil per year you are wrong and this deal proves it. Let Josh get paid what he is worth, if they need money for the cap later then let the front office restructure his deal, but stop convincing yourself that Josh should take less than what the current market dictates he should get
  11. I don’t think this deal will impact Josh’s deal at all. He was always going to get 40+ million on his deal. The cap will start going back up, the Bills will be able to build a team around him.
  12. I can be convinced of the first 2, would definitely want Watt over Clowney though
  13. You guys do understand that the teams involved and Watt all have a better understanding of the situation than fans on a discussion board do, don’t you? I worry that some of you think that Watt and his guys aren’t talking to teams, or that Buffalo isn’t having meetings and discussions about guys other than Watt. In the grand scheme of things Watt taking a little bit longer than some people would like is not really that big of a deal. He’s not holding the team hostage, they are making plans with or without him. I can guarantee you no one is getting their feelings hurt because he is taking his time
  14. Jeremy Maclin went over 100 pages I believe
  15. He mentioned oxygen - we breathe oxygen in Buffalo. Although he said Friday MORNING fun, so that's obviously a knock against Buffalo...
  16. Facts really hurt several posters arguments on here though...
  17. Dude get out of here with that whole “no respect for today’s players vs players of before” absolute crap. To think that those guys wanted it more back then is garbage. They didn’t go after huge dollars because they weren’t allowed to. Free agency wasn’t a thing until the 90’s. Like it’s some sort of issue that these guys want to get paid...let me guess, you think Josh will take a major hometown discount because “he just seems like that kind of guy” and he’s all about the team, because when these guys get paid a fair salary they obviously are all about themselves
  18. Philips went to a team that up until the last couple of games in the season was still in the playoff hunt-it’s not like he took a bunch of money from the jets or jags. He also got hurt during the season. Most people on here have been loving everything that Milano had done for the last 4 years but now want to treat him like he’s nothing because he wants to get paid. It’s weak
  19. Just wondering, have you made that second comment about every other free agent from a good team? I hate when fans make this comment, it just REEKS of bitterness because these guys make a lot of money
  20. Seriously, go up literally 1 post from yours-he’s not washed up. Definitely had some injuries, not washed up. Also analytically the guy just had an outstanding season
  21. You avoided his question-it’s a fair question in rebuttal to your argument
  22. I think he’s still traumatized by something that happened when he was a kid...I mean, just imagine what would’ve happened if he would’ve been the starting pitcher instead of the coach’s son!
  23. Do you have a link? I’ve been looking all over and I haven’t seen anything about the type of money he wants
  24. You’re thinking about this as a fan, not a team or player. They all know how this game works-players or teams never shoot down these types of rumors because it does them no benefit. Every team in the league already knows he is only looking at a handful of teams. By not shooting down the Cleveland rumor, that could potentially keep teams like Seattle in the mix, or at least give that illusion. Teams don’t get butt hurt because a player doesn’t deny rumors. My guess is you are hoping he shoots down the rumor because then it still keeps the Bills in the running to get him. I want to see him sign in Buffalo as well but from a business standpoint it doesn’t make sense for him to publicly eliminate a potential team. Honestly think about it, do free agents ever deny rumors about where they may potentially sign?
  25. Why WOULD he dispute those rumors? The more he says, the more he drives down his price. Plus, why does he need to come out publicly and say anything?
