I agree 100%. Buffalo is so used to trash they think they have everything they need when they get mediocre. I for one think this regime is no better than most before them, the drafts have bordered on awful, FA pick ups have been mediocre outside of stumbling on a handful of guys and the scheme is bland. I’m officially changing the tag from McBeane to Vanilla McBeane. Were it not for Allen starting to look legit, people would be calling for everyone’s head. The coaching has gotten us to 2-4, JA has taken them to 4–2.

Neither one would be worth a crap in today’s game, not to mention Bradshaw was not considered all that great in his own era. He had a helluva team around him that won a lot, but it was more inspire of him, not because of him. He was more personality than anything. Aikman, again not exceptionally regarded, but was surrounded by HOF talent at virtually every position on O and he didn’t screw it up too much.

Allen isn’t really regressing per say, he’s still making some great plays out there, but the line is getting blown off the ball so he’s constantly under pressure. Also in the conditions tonight, I think he lost a few of them on grip alone. He’s reverting back to hero ball a little because he’s not getting any help at all, so some of the stupid decisions are creeping back in, that’s true. I personally will not be shocked if the Fins end up winning the division.

Agreed, no idea why they paid him $6M/yr but it definitely shouldn’t have come with that much guaranteed. Beaner has had a lot of head scratchers in FA and his drafting doesn’t look great either, not sure what the love fest is here for him or McClappy. The only saving grace might be Allen, who I have to give credit to, is the real deal, but he can’t do it all.

I compared him to Marv Lewis earlier this year and was practically beheaded by the homers here, glad I’m not the only one seeing it. Problem is he just got an extension, so McClappy is here to stay. Get used to it all. 3 more years of wasting seasons with the pathetic fans excited about back door playoff appearances and getting beat by Bill O’Brien. This was the last year to win with Allen under a reasonable contract, it will be wasted and once he signs the extension, a lot of guys have to go to make it work, mostly on D, so 3 more years of drafting defense for a ***** scheme.

Rex Ryan was once considered the best defensive coach in football too, but just like the Tampa 2 and now the Vanilla McBeane D, his time passed.

The front 7 is playing like absolute trash, but this isn’t a bunch of guys who shouldn’t be good, I do believe this is on the coaches.

This game was not on Allen AT ALL, he was the only player who didn’t suck. He was under pressure the entire game and got zero support, more dropped balls, no running game, again, and the D should go jump in Lake Erie and not come back.

Honestly, the way he has performed the last 3 weeks has not been great. The interference act was mint (and legit) and the TD catch was great, BUT he’s dropped at least 5 catchable balls and that’s not what one expects from a guy of his caliber.
