Ha. Thanks guys, that's going to help a lot! Just need to populate the databases so the graphs look pretty and I wanted "real" data as opposed to "ApacheBench vX.y"

Haha. None of that!

Hey folks.. I'm testing out some new web statistics software and need to generate some off-site traffic. If you care to help, just click this link: Help McJeff Thanks! There's no pictures or anything, the page simply says "thanks for clicking my link." Jeff

I have a friend from down there in Ocean Springs, MS. They just opened a kitchen cabinet store down on the gulf. She drives back and forth every other week between there and Atlanta. They're bringing in quite a bit of money I think. This is like the third company they've started. One of these days, I'm going to as well.. I"m stuck trying to think up the perfect idea.

Nothing too special... but the douche next to me always eats lunch at his desk. Not so bad... but it's this same meatloaf he gets down the street EVERY DAY. It smells like canned dog food. Then he doesn't eat with his mouth closed. It *sounds* like a dog licking a bowl of half-hardened Jello. I've got to put headphones on or get up and leave every day at about 1:00PM. Nasty,

So who got booted this week? -
See, the problem there is "decriminalizes them." The fact still remains that they did something illegal. They should not be granted clemency. There needs to be a penalty and it needs to carry forth with them like any other violation. They knowingly commited a crime. Any other option is a complete disregard for rule of law. Regardless of how messed up you think the DOI is, there are still laws being broken. My gut feeling is "if they don't respect our laws and our nation enough to come through the borders via the proper channels, send them back." Like I said earlier, though, the problem is *so* widespread that it isn't possible to do that to all of them. It would be a futile waste of more taxpayer money to attempt it. I suggested what I did not because I want to make everyone who snuck in happy, but rather the standard "catch and deport" methodology isn't going to work when there are 11,000,000 to move. The only realistic solution as I see it is to allow some "alternative" to those already in the nation. If that comes to pass it needs to be followed by a very strict increase in border security, otherwise we'll be doing this every 5 years. -Jeff

I probably should have chosen a better analogy; I was trying to underscore the fact that doing something illegal shouldn't be easily forgiveable simply because it's an improvement in my quality of life. I'm the idiot that always gives $0.50 to the same bum every day, even though I know he's using it to power his crack torch. I want to give these folks a chance. Like I said, as long as they clear the wrongs. I think a stiff speeding ticket is a little bit too soft, but now we're arguing details. It's not the penalty for sneaking in I'm concerned about, it's the repayment for all of the governement provided benefits they've enjoyed. They've been living here enjoying US protection, schools, medical care - all of the things we have to offer. They need to pay for their share of the benefit they've consumed. Now, if we had a consumption tax... -Jeff PS.. I'm tired and I've just noticed my spelling and grammar is at a 2nd grade level tonight.

How is it self-righteousness? It's a case of right and wrong, no? Hell, my life would be better if I had a few million in the bank, forgive me if I think stealing it is the only way to make that happen. It was for the good of my family, so it's okay. I'm all for letting them in and blending culture and all that happy hippy crap, but the wrong needs to be set right before that can happen. No, deporting everyone by the busload probably doesn't make sense, but demanding back taxes, associated penalties, and some attempt at Americanization sure does. Why is that too much to ask? If they can't agree to that, then back to the busload idea. Immigration law as a whole needs to be reevaluated. It shouldn't be such a pain in the ass for those that *do* want to legally live here. We should welcome those that want to do it the right way as they'll influence others to follow suit. We really should give them every opportunity to make a better life for themselves here. I fully agree with that. Before that can happen, we need to deal with the fact that a lot of them _broke the law_. Of course, if the tax code wasn't so..... -Jeff

I never understood why adults do this crap. This is the 30-something version of high school dating drama. It happens everywhere, too. Slacking? It sounds to me like she's simply not got enough to do. If she has time to sit around and BS around the water cooler, she can take on another couple of cases. If she can't handle that, she should be placed on the standard "improvement plan." The gossip types are always the ones that wind up incompetent in the end. Intimidated by the work, so they pass the time with gossip. Get it to stop? Don't pay any freaking attention to it and do your job the way you know how. Start playing into it and you can be damn sure she's asking a friend of hers the same question you're asking us. You know, "there's this guy at work, he thinks I'm slacking and all he does is try and blah blah blah." Do you have any control over the situation? Can you stop it? Can you file a formal complaint? Either your boss sprouts a pair and turns the place into a productive working environment, or you should pack your stojan and find someplace you can work without the distraction. It sounds to me like your boss is incapbable of running the place. She views her subordinates as peers or friends and is afraid of hurting someone's feelings. None of that matters, really, because it doesn't sound like you have any actual authority. Ignore it. Every last bit of it. If you're not content with it and can't iniate real change, leave. -Jeff

I don't post over here very often, but for the love of... I just saw a big banner on the news, "Immigrant Rights." You're not legally here. How the hell can you demand rights? This is all so clear to me. Side A? Legal. Side B? Illegal. What's the problem? The way I see it, a *lot* of illegals are out there for the taking now. Dump trucks. Lots of them. No sleep 'til the border. If you want to stay, you pay all of your back taxes plus penalties. Learn English. Apply for citiczenship. Use your own tax ID number. Hell, I'll help carry your stojan into your new house for you if you do it legally. I can't believe for a second that non-residents who have illegaly entered the country are protesting for their *rights* and the general populous isn't outraged. Throw the border security issues on top and you'd think we'd have posse's rounding 'em up. Bah. The problem has gotten so big that no one will be deported. We'll probably wind up allowing them to apply to stay from their places here. -Jeff Ok. I just had to vent. Thanks for reading =)

Best post ever. -
This all started when Ruff announced that his daughter was sick,no? From an out-of-town-not-much-sabres-news point of view, this looks to be a direct result of that. Everyone's probably quite distracted (and rightfully so). Any word on that, by the way? -Jeff

Yeah. That's got to be the only freakin' show I really do wish was still on. There have been good ones, but that's the only one I really activley watched. That 24 is up there, but it ain't no X-Files.... mostly because you can't sound "made up" if you're talking about freakin' aliens. -Jeff

How's it go...

Hey, if we can get the X-Files back (WITH Moulder), I'm okay with that.
