  1. Prayers to Damar, his family, and support system. I live close to where he grew up and played HS/college ball, his prior coaches have always had nothing but great things to say about him as a person (and player). So much adversity for this team (and city of Buffalo) during 2022/early 2023, that those feelings can be difficult to handle. But can also be used to uplift and bring people/community/players closer together. As others said, football doesn't matter right now. Damar and his family are in everyone's thoughts, stay positive and hopefully we receive a positive update in the next 24-48 hours.
  2. Photo #9 of tonight's arrival photos....this is Saffold. While, below is Dean Marlowe...(photo I think you were referencing as Saffold).
  3. Great coach, but he also has one of the highest paid defenses in the NFL....that side of the ball has been underachieving, albeit TJ injury is an excuse for the time he missed. Offense always had talent, except that oline. Just so many young players, needed time to gel and now they've found an identity to play close/solid football. Matt Canada likely saved his job, but has been playing with fire and think they could do better. This team reminds me of some of the Jets teams, guided by Mark Sanchez. Less talent at corner, which makes this team less dominant defensively.
  4. Just edited my post, I think it's Dean Marlowe.
  5. 100% not Saffold walking next to Josh in the photos. Not sure who it is, but it's not Roger. Saffold is built like a truck, not like a WR/DB. Edit: took another look at the boarding photos, and looked like Dean Marlowe walking next to Josh.
  6. Heyward penalty was borderline, but 2 things: 1. Ref was clearly telling players play was over/break it up, then Cam pushes the bmore oline 2 additional times. 2. On the 2nd push, Cam makes contact with the Ref. Again borderline, but Cam being hot-headed in the moment. 2nd half adjustments. If I'm Bmore, I start to run more playaction/3 step drops on 1st down. Steelers running a 6-2 front basically dictates cover 3 or man coverage. Both susceptible to outside passing game (5-10 yard outs/fade patterns if man). Steelers offense is moving the ball with their 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense. Bmore should be sending more blitzes on early downs, get Pitt off schedule.
  7. Your comments about Ten are incorrect. They are 3-2 in their division, and would have the tie breaker if they beat Jax week 18. Week 17 means nothing about who wins the Afc south. It's all about week 18, and for that reason, it will be the flexed game.
  8. Baker played horribly against GB last time (albeit while injured/with Browns). GB is getting healthier, Rams are not. I'd be all over GB, -7.5
  9. This yr contribution, as of right now: Elam: C+ Cook: B- Bernard: C Shakir: C Araiza: F Shakir: C Benford: B Spector: C Tenuta: n/a That said, these can quickly change depending on P/T and key plays made at critical moments in the playoffs. Guys like Elam and Cook, I'd expect the coaches have a plan to get more involved (already seeing this with Cook). Future: obviously too early. Elam: They haven't missed on many secondary selections, have to think he will blossom. Cook: looks like a potential starter/rotational guy. And more explosion/pass catching ability than we've had recently. Bernard: was an insurance policy for Milano, and someone who needs an offseason to get stronger/learn our scheme (think he will be a surprise player next yr). Shakir: is more hype than production as of now (mostly hyped by fans), but think he could be our future slot. Benford: valuable CB depth, and someone who might move to S.
  10. Screen designs are fairly straight forward. It's the execution, takes alot of practice to get the timing of the OL, Josh's drop (selling it), and RB in position. My guess is they aren't spending enough time practicing these, just isn't a key aspect of Dorseys playbook. Same with RB draws, sprint out draws. There were several times yesterday we should have been taking advantage of the Jets wide nine (Def ends outside alignment and pass rush straight up the field). Against Miami, I get concerned that they run a super aggressive defense and we need more screens/etc to take advantage of that.
  11. didn't realize you win the SB in December? Currently the #1 seed and control our own destiny. I'll take that all day every day. Every team has flaws this time of year, and there is roughly a quarter season to go b4 playoffs....alot can happen between now and then for all teams. 1 game at a time, and see where things are at come playoffs
  12. Bengals and Rams, last years SB teams...were both extremely streaky. One week looks great, next looked like a different team. This team just needs to get the offensive rhythm going....same problem as LY, heading into playoffs. How quickly we forget the offense wasn't clicking on all cylinders consistently. Defense and S/T are playing consistent right now, and that's going to be huge come playoffs
  13. Diggs looked fine, just appeared frustrated. I thought he was in the game on the last series, 1st play at least, when we threw incomplete to Knox.
  14. Horrible angle on that replay... thought the ball may have hit the ground as Tre flipped him over on tackle.
  15. McKenzie can create separation, just frustrating he doesn't have consistent hands. Body catches alot, lucky those didn't turn into a pick
  16. Jets offense right now... 1. Run away from Milano/toward Taron 2. Throw toward Danes side of field Let's adjust, and step it up!
  17. Dane needs to take a seat and get our 1st rounder on the field...horrible on that 3rd down play against Berrios
  18. We need some more running game, other than Josh. Sprint out draws, bootleg playactions, screens....move the pocket/get more misdirection, that's how you can get these shell defenses out of position.
  19. I think you're mistaken... Frazier specifically said Dane was ill, and that's why Dane didn't get the start. He said it was a "numbers" thing for Elam. Basically a kind way of saying they'd rather have Rhodes active, instead of Elam. Rhodes definitely didn't impress, but difficult to judge performance against Mac Jones and that offense is horrible. Mike White and the Jets will be a bigger test, I'd much rather see an athletic Elam continue to learn on the job and get experience we will need come playoffs. Rhodes looks old/slow and isn't going to help against better passing teams.
  20. Sucks losing Von for the year...no doubt. Be great if we could fully healthy, but it's football and teams lose key/superstar players to injury every season. Some teams can overcome, while others can't. The Rams dealt with alot of injuries getting to the SB and eventually winning it all LY, just 1 example. Collectively, this team has to keep playing their A-game and I'll take our chances against anyone, including Chiefs/Bengals.
  21. Coach and Josh both seemed upbeat, at the possibility of signing him. We shall see. He's obviously not 100% yet. But in say 3-4 weeks, sounds like that would be the time he needs to get back into football shape/learn the playbook. Then he'd be building chemistry with Josh and the offense, around the Bengals / Pats game. Obvious thing, is if the money is right for us/him without prohibiting us to resign some key pieces. If he can only contribute for the playoffs, that's exactly what we need...goal would be getting the chemistry down leading up to that (while continuing his rehab). He'd primarily be in the slot/another Diggs type that we can move around. Even at 90%, he's an upgrade over what we have in the slot currently.
