I'll start by saying I'm not an orthopedic physician, but educated research/past facts: 1. Rapaport saying "tiny tear", may or may not be true first off. He might have been told sprain, but this could be stretching of the ligament and various grades. 2. Surgery: Josh healed and didn't require surgery with his grade 2 UCL sprain from 2018. Every injury is different, but I'd guess he'd heal w/o surgery Will see what McDermott says tomorrow, and keep an eye on injury report for Josh's participation in practice this week. If this is truly a pain mgt thing, I'm betting on Josh playing this week.

Bills 7.5 pt favorite over Vikings
MasterStrategist replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
To be clear, it didn't come off "all the boards". In fact, DK might have been one of the few (or only major sportsbook) that took it down for a little while. Many others kept it up (Fanduel, betmgm, Caesars, to name a few majors). And the line has gradually dropped as $$$ continues to come in on Minny. McDermott presser is scheduled for noon tomorrow, will find out then if Josh is possibly going to play this week. But the line movement to date is not indicative of him sitting, more bettors "guessing"/hedging (as you did). -
Bills 7.5 pt favorite over Vikings
MasterStrategist replied to RoyBatty is alive's topic in The Stadium Wall
Most sports books give people the ability to "cancel" their bet, before the game starts. Line dropping gradually, is money coming in on Vikes (people either hedging, like said above and/or truly think Minny is within a TD of Bills). Any indication that Allen is surely out this week, and this line flips to Minny being favored. -
Agree. Our favorite reporter (Thad Brown 👎) wrote an article in 2018 discussing what is called a "milking test". Basically a very quick test on the UCL, when the UCL is sprained badly or torn it will induce quite a bit of pain. I'd assume the trainers did during the Jets timeout yesterday, or something more than Josh just saying he's ok to return.

Being overdramatic and putting out anything in advance, other than "we hear he's undergoing testing/more to come as we find out" is ridiculous. Clickbait or not, alot of fans care alot about the team/Josh's health...no reason to be dramatic, unless certain. As much as I like their reviews/commentary, this type of thing turns me off to their content...

Agree, this would be FANTASTIC...after all the doom and gloom. As I said before: 1. Josh has had a UCL before, he immediately collapsed to the ground and removed from game. 2. Jets took a timeout, gave our training staff a chance to look him over/talk to him. Now Josh could have said "I'm ok", but they aren't risking their franchise QB on 4th and 21 (low chance of converting, in a regular season game). 3. Josh knows his arm, he isn't unloading a 60+ yard pass if he thinks he has an issue. He's a super tough/competitor, but not enough to risk a serious injury (if he thought it was more than minor)

Offense "One Dimensional" - Daboll's Departure Fallout?
MasterStrategist replied to jethro_tull's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think it's less about Daboll, because same thing happened with him running the show LY (and McDermott also made similar comments). Alot of this comes down to Josh and offense executing. Josh had a lot of open underneath/checkdown options yesterday, coupled with 2 critical turnovers. Especially the turnovers NEED to stop. Even with a bad offensive outing, if we don't turnover both times this is likely a close win. Dorsey/Josh will get it figured out. I really think we need to get the targets spread around, get more Knox/slot Wr/Rb targets in pass game. Get these quick hitters, let our playmakers get into a groove.. feel like Josh has just been inconsistent with some of his processing/progressions. Need to execute better, the plays are there to be had. -
It's time to get back to some less aggressive/quick rhythm passing, 3 steps and deliver. Spread the targets around, and then Diggs targets will naturally occur (too much forcing right now). This just needs mixed in more, it's like a running attack and get ahead of the sticks. Too many long developing pass plays, put alot of pressure on the oline...but Josh also needs to hit those checkdowns/easy passes, instead of hero ball. Dorsey/Josh will get this back on track, just frustrating to waste a loss. But you get better by learning from mistakes, hopefully these past 6 quarters are a distant memory after next few games.

It's called being undersized/outmuscled in the front 6, combined with poor tackling. Being in nickle doesn't bother me, Taron is a physical player. Gap integrity also fell apart that last drive. At some point, it would be nice to line up in a 5 man front or blitz Bernard (this is something he's instinctive and good at), but we blitzed our safeties instead (Hamlin good, but JJ missed alot).

You could be right, but just based on watching (not reviewing every single game/play), it seems we are using Knox alot to chip & release. Against Rams and Miami, they both rushed 5 or more, and definitely seemed like Knox stayed in to block (no release in those games). Not sure how that site you reference accounts for chip/release, in terms of routes ran. But bottom line is Knox definitely can be a mismatch, and we're not seeming to utilize/execute plays to him.

Agree. It's a shame that we had BOTH Poyer and Hyde out for our divisional games, just happened to be 2 Ls. Way too many missed tackles last week 2nd half, and this week as well. Need to fix this asap, before playing 2 run heavy teams in coming weeks

The "non-interception" by Edmunds
MasterStrategist replied to Bermuda Triangle's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tremaine didn't get outmuscled, he juggled it and gained possession just before hitting the ground and Jets TE basically put his hands in there. As to challenging, I doubt it would have been overturned although drfinitely think it was a pick. Never seen a simultaneous catch overruled. One angle showed Jets TE no longer touching the ball, but our luck they would have ruled that Tremaine still didn't have possession. -
Sure. Not saying he didn't make any plays at all, of course he did. But his decisions were far below his standard of play. That 1st pass to Knox, 2nd Int fooled by a cover 2 look, and ehat should have been a 3rd Int later on. All that said, he was doing similar to what he did against Jacksonville last year. Almost carbon copy of the game, he needed to take more check downs, ie: Knox/Rbs chipping. Or the open short crossing patterns. Bottom line, we shouldn't have needed a 4th and 21 conversion with 40 seconds left to win today.
