  1. That's KC investing two 2nds and one 3rd too. Not to mention $12m AAV on MVS. They're missing JuJu type production from LY. Their defense is probably the beat its been in the Mahomes era though. AFC is wide open this year, mainly due to various QB injuries..and Andrew's for Bmore. Just find a way to get in.
  2. Feels like Major League 2...Josh haircut/back to himself. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&opi=89978449&url=https://m.youtube.com/watch%3Fv%3DiHJS-i_ajFA&ved=2ahUKEwipzb7b69OCAxX_kokEHXMPAGgQwqsBegQIFBAG&usg=AOvVaw2E36KJvlT_XyZI-ZJsSie-
  3. Fans need to take opponent into account. Two score lead against Jets is HUGE. Keep momentum and sustaining drives
  4. Good list. Coleman is my guy. Doubt he'd make it to where we draft, unless we fall completely apart. He checks alot of boxes, I'm seeing a more consistent George Pickens type weapon.
  5. No bias here...just facts: Offense- 3 scoring drives and 4 turnovers, missing 1 starter (Knox) Defense- only 6 points allowed on turnovers in our territory. Down 5 starters S/T- a complete mess on punt coverage (mostly on Martin) I'd say Coach was fairly accurate with his comments, and disappointment in the offense. We've had multiple games where the offense "let us down". Yes, we could get better at WR2; but this is still a talented group and not executing/inconsistent/not using its best weapons appropriately. We have no proof Coach is meddling in the offense, although it appears it might be happening. We will soon see if Dorsey was the true problem, on that side of ball. Defense is fine. Coach is correct in putting more heat on offense. It's not being unaccountable, just honest feedback
  6. I agree with this. We are in a transition period with the roster, in 2024. Alot of critical decisions, likely some vets being let go/not retained. Its a better time to make a head coach switch. That said, McD is a good defensive coach. My opinion, but he's held together a group that's had unbelievable injuries to key players/groomed a new starting MLB, and we lacked speed already in the secondary. He has his flaws, gets too aggressive/veteran players sometimes given roles over younger, more talented players (he'd rather have assigment sound players). I think we would have seen a top 5 unit, if we stayed healthy. But the tradeoff is much greater to find an offensive minded head coach, and get a fresh def coordinator (more options there)
  7. My "source", media guy in Pittsburgh but connections to Buffalo/NFL....now he isn't always correct, but told me in the summer: 1. Cincy playoff: Diggs outburst was directed at Josh, bc he was upset Josh advocated/had more say on hiring Dorsey as Off coordinator and was upset with that decision 2. Offseason/missed day of minicamp: Diggs was told both coordinators would be "evaluated" and changes likely to occur to both. Dorsey wasn't expected to be retained, at least by Diggs interpretation. He wasn't happy to say the least, when Coach discussed why they were keeping Dorsey Take it or leave it. My media source reached out to me today and has been predicting this for the past few weeks. But all fans have seen the writing on the wall re: Dorsey, just not sure the Diggs situation is true...but sounds plausible. EDIT: if true, could explain some of the extra "weight" on Josh shoulders this year, feeling responsible. Something is definitely weighing on his mind/demeanor, but could be a variety of things
  8. Defense wasn't the problem last night, albeit they gave up the game winning drive. Down 5 starters, 4 turnovers by offense, poor field position from turnovers/bad ST punting coverage, etc. They played hard, as you said. In no world should this offense be held to 3 scoring drives an entire game. It's happened way too often. On top of that, turning it over 4 times. Offense is just plain bad right now. Josh included. Point the finger wherever, but definitely in direction of offense. Dorsey in particular. Execution is awful, mostly on players, but have to ask why it's become so bad so fast. To me it's coaching/philosophy of running the offense. If Dorsey isn't fired today, then I'm more angry at Sean/Beane. Sean is on thin ice too. He's a much better coach than Dorsey/most others we have. IMO, better defensive coordinator than head coach. Can't full reset the offense 10 games in. But we can see if Shula/someone else can get more consistency/production, and get an extended look at what might be coaching OR determine if it's more player-driven.
  9. We need some easy Harty/Shakir passes...4-5 yards and let them run
  10. Just indecisive...he just needed to make a cut and go
  11. Don't disagree. But how bad is our talent in the back 7? LBs: Bernard - overachieving some, has some limitations physically, good value on a rookie deal. Dodson- he is replacement level, not sure he's a top backup on many other teams CB: another overachiever in Benford, athletically limited. Dane same boat. Rasul has some talent, as does Elam; but that's looking to future (likely without Tre). Still lacking a true #1. Taron is a high performing nickle. S: slow, at this point Poyer/Hyde bring vet experience, but don't excel at any one thing now. No longer are they consistent in coverage or blitzing, just not impactful is the point. This is on Beane/McD, and Tre injuries killed a good portion of capspace. Beane decided, or Coach influenced, the decisions to keep the secondary mainly intact. Knowing full well we struggled last game of year/lacked speed. I think they put too much faith into Hyde/Poyer being able to regain their 2021 form...which hasn't been the case, and again Tre is just bad luck/nobodies fault. That's all to say, next offseason should be focused on 2 new safeties, and developing Elam/determine early enough if we need to invest more at CB. Likely Tre, Dane, Poyer, Hyde all gone...time to retool.
  12. Agree. I think most realistic fans knew last night was going to be a difficult task, but possible if Josh/offense carried the way. Fact is season isn't over, just that we're seeing some "key issues" / injuries that are mounting. I put it at 50/50 we make the playoffs, just is what it is...frustrating, but it happens to good teams every year. These next 2 games are the must wins, then another steep challenge with the Eagles. We need to beat either: Eagles, Boys, Chiefs, or Dolphins...must-win: Broncos, Jets, Chargers, Pats Getting 10 wins is a must, to have a shot for 7th seed. I think it will take min 11 wins to win the division, if we beat Miami last week of season. I'll hold onto hope, until/if we lose a must win. Then I'll start thinking more about big picture/future
  13. I feel like we are "damned if we do" / "damned if we dont" situation. We needed to get Cincy into more 3rd and longs, which we couldn't do without gambling/blitzing early downs. Our main issue is lack of speed in the secondary, especially safety but also at Dodsons spot with Milano out. We shouldn't need to blitz so often, but front four just isn't cutting it over the past month+. Soon as Groot hurt his foot, Jones went down, Ed battling his toe injury, etc. Not an excuse, but we are struggling through too many injuries (and lack of back 7 speed). Unfortunately, I don't know what McD can do this year...it was death by 1k cuts last night or take some chances....but only giving up 24 points wasn't the ultimate problem. Offense was a major letdown, perhaps McD to blame there as well. But we don't have the "horses", IMO. That's mostly due to injury on defense, but Beane has to find a way to get younger/more athletic at S and WR next offseason. We might have the least athletic/speed of any back 7 in NFL right now...it's definitely bottom 5.
  14. Even though a gamble to challenge, it looks like a catch. Slow motion, it hits his hand and pops up
  15. Get Harty/Shakir involved this drive.....Diggs being doubled and Hilton on Kincaid
  16. Interesting that Ford inactive. Joseph must be ready. And Rasul active. Not sure he'll get much P/T, will see. Norman up for the S/T snaps
  17. Mentioned before the year, Watt/Highsmith is arguably best pass rushing duo in NFL. But Pickett would hold them back. It's not crazy to think they get to 10 wins. Their defense creates havoc, and keeps them within 1 score in most contests. The offense has 2 very good playmakers in Pickens and Johnson, even with Pat injured. And as bad as Pickett/Canada combo is, they just need to limit turnovers and connect on 1-2 big plays to guys mentioned above. It's not sustainable against tough opponents, but their schedule is weak this year. It will come down to Steelers/Browns/Afceast team for the 6th/7th wild card spots IMO
  18. Benford is likely fine, he may have missed a few reps Friday; but it's nothing serious. For others speculating about Norman being called up, that's likely to be the #3 corner. Not a sure thing, but will be interesting who are 5 inactives will be: Ifedi, Anderson - almost locks- Klein/Spector ruled out (down to 4 LBs), then two of Rasul/Hamlin/Joseph - if Norman is active. My guess is Rasul and Joseph. Short week for both players, Joseph literally hasn't had any practice reps to this point. Hamlin will get the S/T snaps of Klein/Spector, Poyer has been another pseudo LB on 3rd downs too.
  19. Agree, there would be a "questionable" designation assigned if it was bad. Nobody is pulling a hammy Thur/Fri then playing on a Sunday. IIRC LY, Gabe hurt his ankle Saturday (before Titans MNF) and listed as questionable. Ultimately he didnt play. All that to say, I think Benford is fine/prob missed a few reps that's all.
  20. Cincy defense is like Miami, but better coached. Yards and points to be had, just need to not turn it over/take sacks. On defense, watch the Ravens and Steelers play them. It's a physical/aggressive brand. We need to bring that intensity and aggression, keep them from getting a run game going by bringing pressure on early downs. Burrow wants his quick/intermediate passes. Rather we force them into 50/50 fade passes, by jamming/taking away underneath.
  21. Definitely not a true 1, from a run stuffing perspective. I think he's a good piece to move around up front on passing downs, likely what they're looking for him to help with (interior rush, other than Ed has been poor since losing Jones). Just confirmed he was a 3-tech at Wash, 3 games in 2020 (before injured) and all of 2021. Good depth for this time of year.
  22. That's exciting for both, knew Matt was injured...hopefully physical turns out well. I'd guess Matt is P/S. Elam to IR and Suh to 53.
