  1. Last time we played KC, James Cook had a coming out party. I'd expect we work the ground game and attack their LBs/middle of field. Spags likely going to bring along pressure, as he usually does against Josh. Playing alot press man/single high, behind it. Cook/Kincaid/Shakir I'd expect to get alot of targets again. I'd like to see us use Harty more outside, against press man teams his speed/quickness is a huge asset. Will see if Gabe is back this week.
  2. Think it's an "educated guess" on Diggs. Based on Minkah hitting him there/Diggs toppling over. Agree, Diggs is battling through something. Bernard- if it's indeed a sprain, didn't look like High'Ankle based on bend direction. But could still be a torn ligament/need several month surgery recovery. Big Unknown until MRI. We just don't have the numbers at LB, with Spector also down and Dodson. Hopefully both those guys can play this week Johnson- I think he was injured on. the Pickens reverse, didn't look like head/thought his legs gave out. But maybe hit then fell awkwardly. Benford - he was riding stationary bike then quickly ruled out. I don't recall the injury, perhaps on the Freirermuth fumble. Hopefully we get Rasul back, at a minimum, to go with Dane. Martin- I'd expect he battles through/plays. McGovern- came back into game after 1 play, sure he'll be ok
  3. Not discrediting the Steelers, but... 1. Last week: Baltimore mostly backups 2. 2 weeks ago: Hawks have been horrible against the run down the stretch. 200+ 2x and 160 in their last 3 3. 3 weeks ago: 30 for 113 against Cincy is OK. Nothing special, ypc wise and they hit some splash plays early But to your point and what alot of folks saying, the key is shutting down their run game. I just wouldn't say they "found" anything. They've been solid most of the year, with Najee and Warren. Just recently Rudolph has hit some key passes, and not turned it over. Trenches and turnover margin likely will be the key, as usual: 1. Our OL: I'd say "even", with Watt out. 2. Our DL: biggest matchup/most pivotal, and IMO we have slightly better talent. We need to win here 3. Turnover margin: Steelers have best in NFL, play smart/opportunistic on defense. Watt missing is huge in pass rush/turnovers. Josh just needs to play smart. Good comes with the bad, but he just can't have multiple turnovers I'd say we win by 6-8, if above holds true. 10+ if we win the turnover margin
  4. Gotcha. Yeah I agree it's definitely a "strategy"....and I could see benefits to both. Kicking with the wind to start: home crowd fired up, quick stop and hopefully get a short field, score and play with the lead/momentum. Everything you said above, isn't a bad strategy either. Will see how Coach handles this game.
  5. Please educate how a team can "manipulate" the coin toss? Or how a single team could pick both 2nd and 4th qtr directions. To my understanding, let's say we win the toss... 1. If we Defer, then Steelers would take the ball. Then we get to decide kicking direction (hence 2nd qtr option). 2nd half, Bills would elect to receive and Steelers pick kicking direction (hence 4th qtr impact) 2. Vice versa if we lose the toss or decide to receive (instead of defer) So I'm trying to follow how a single team can control (or manipulate as you say) both 2nd and 4th qtr. Unless they give up a possession (which to me is just dumb).
  6. Agree, it's going to be a much closer game than some expect. They have talent at skill positions/RB, and an improving OL. Rudolph doesn't scare me, we definitely need to limit Najee/Warren broken tackles. Watt being out definitely tips the scales. Watt is the best defensive player in NFL. Highsmith is a beast himself, together they are difficult to scheme around. They have some key injuries at ILB, and Kazee coming back at S. Minkah has been banged up, but still a solid secondary. Steelers just play a smart brand of football. Lead NFL in turnover margin, very good S/T and kicking game, grind it out style on offense with some talented playmakers. Difficult to blow out a team like that. We need to keep turnover margin within -1 or better. With Watt likely out, that should be enough to win close. Only way we're blowing them out, is if Josh balls out in 2021 playoff mode.
  7. Jags bringing the house... I'd try a fade to Dhop or screen on 2nd down
  8. Hands under, ball can hit thr ground if he has control...which seemed like he did. Should stand
  9. I don't think this is true. If Steelers and Jags both win, we need to win
  10. My guess is that the NFL is counting on Week 18 being Bills/Phins flex, so either they don't want back-to-back weeks with same team OR it's possible that puts Miami above the allowable primetime (unable to flex week 18)
  11. It's a joke man. You're clearly old and depressed. Our team wins and you create a post like this. Reflection of one's self and LAMP. Happy holidays, be thankful for what we have
  12. I guess you're new to NFL. This happens to good teams every season, it's about grinding/finding a way to win. The W counts the same. Why does anyone have to admit anything? You're being over the top and LAMP
  13. This is a poor way of looking at it.... You should be thinking, one of two scenarios to get in: 1. Win Division: in this scenario, just need Dolphins to lose 1 of next 2. Then we control our destiny 2. Wild card: IF we lose to Miami, then we want as many teams with 8 losses. Broncos, Colts, Texans, Bengals, Steelers OR Jags (someone wins the South of these 3 teams) In scenario #2, Browns winning helps us. As they have Texans and Cincy. Get Texans to 7 losses AND hopefully a Colts loss before final week. Makes that last game an elimination of one of them. Cincy losing today would be amazing. But I still see them dropping to Chiefs, then need to count on Browns. Broncos have a fairly easy schedule. Pats might be toughest matchup for them, this week. I see them making it in. Colts need an L against Falcons this week, or next week. Steelers are a mess. I'd be shocked they win today, but it's their season on the line. I can't see them beating Ravens last week of season, or the Seahawks next week. I'd count them out. Long story short, root for Browns to knock off the "fringe" teams.
  14. Commercial OR listen to Collinsworth for an additional 2 minutes.... tough tradeoff
  15. Why does it matter? As you alluded to, he is hurdling/trucking defenders. Not curling in the fetal position like Brady/others have done. He is trying to draw a penalty....how is this different than: 1. OL: coming out of stance when defender jumps Offside 2. DL/others: holding up hands/flailing to get an OL/offensive holding 3. WRs: trying to "initiate" contact on under thrown passes- to draw def pass interference 4. etc etc It's called being a "smart" player. And great players at various positions, see above, all do similar things to get a penalty called on the opposing team. It's up to the refs to officiate fairly/best of their ability. Plenty of times we have drawn the short straw with calls, so I'm always for "gamesmanship", without breaking the rules.
  16. Cook is a beast, but also because our OL freaking dominated today. Sure he'd be quick to call that out. James has really turned into a dynamic weapon for us. Doesn't matter that the pass game was MEH, when we can run at will. But alot of drives aided/continued by Dallas penalties. Obviously take it, but we need to execute a bit better ourselves. Only knock, otherwise dominant I guess this is what Coach calls "complimentary" football. Run game/ball control/get early lead/defense clamps down. Awesome job by the coaches and defense, holding a premier offense to basically zilch.
  17. Agree. If Murray's called a catch and stood, then sp should this. Spears actually looked like he had control, Murray's was more borderline
  18. get this to half tied, and keep close until 4th. That's Tenn recipe, they have a tougher team...need to keep grinding an stay patient
  19. no...questionable. But just like Micah yesterday, no helmet/looks done for game
  20. Sprained ankle, it looked like. He jogged off field, but appeared in alot of pain before that
