I like Eagles -5.5.. Unbelievable Baker/Bics haven't committed a turnover yet...Vikings/Bears defense very bad. Baker usually melts under 4 man pressure, and expect Eagles to get their passing offense back on track. Rams/Bengals, I expect to be very low scoring. -
I love videos like this, breaking down the film/angles/reads. Bernard has been extremely impressive. Pre-snap recognition is improving each game. His ability to "read his keys" quickly, or what some call instinctive/mental processing, has been the biggest suprise. He's always been explosive/emotional player, that's what drew Buffalo to draft him. He showed that off in the Sugar Bowl. His emotional leadership is something Tremaine lacked. Not a knock on Maine, some guys just have a natural ability to fill that role. He's continuing to get better each week and generate big plays, similar to Kiko Alonsos early tenure with us. Unlike Kiko, TB appears to be a much better leader/well spoken. MLB was high, if not at the top, on everyone's "weakness" areas coming into the season. It's still early, but after 3 games he's proving a lot of doubters wrong

Any news on Bates? Looked like he exited during our last drive, injured perhaps on the big play that Cook ran inside the 5. Looked like he and VanDemark tangled legs.

I think the biggest "pro" of being under center, is run game variety. Alot more schemes and options are on the table. Not to say you can't execute similar concepts from the gun, but it is more limited. We don't run as much zone-concepts, it's more gap schemes or gap/pull. Dorsey has added a few more wrinkles, in the run game, from the gun. Primarily the outside draws, trying to take advantage of wide 9 splits/DEs rushing upfield. Back to being under center, the variety in run game opens up: 1. Playaction 2. TE usage 3. High-level: it occupies the LBs/2nd level of defense, and makes it easier for those tight windows and keeping LBs from getting to their drop zones immediately. 4. Defensive Line adjustments: we've been seeing more teams run " wide 9 " against us, when we're in shotgun. That sets up a lot of 1-1 with our tackles. Under center, defenses are going to get out of wide 9 most of the time. So that helps in pass pro too. I think teams like KC or even Miami LY, countered our under center looks with more blitzes. So it's an opponent to opponent decision, staying in shotgun helps Josh get the ball out faster/more time in theory...especially against blitzing/ less zone teams. Against Jets and Washington fronts, it makes alot of sense to stay under center 50%ish and try to get a run game going/slow down the DL -
Sunday Night Football: Steelers at Raiders

This will be the Steeler offense all season. JMO. They have talent at skill positions, but don't like Matt Canada or Kenny Pickett (think he can be a good game manager at his best). Steeler defense is also legit, when healthy. They can shut down most offenses. -
As others mentioned, need to "contain" the run with light boxes/without dropping down a safety. Getting them into a lot of 3rd and 3-5, as being our strategy. Then mix up the coverages/rushes to get off the field on 3rd downs. Need a big game from our front 4 and keep the big plays to a minimum. Tackle well, is a must against a team with this much speed.

Matt Canada somehow still has a job.... This might be one of the worst off coordinators in the NFL

Thanks for posting. Curtis Samuel missed practice today, was due to illness. Something to monitor, already without Logan that would be a big loss -

49ers -10.5 tonight..easy money. Giants oline struggling, likely no Saquan, Danny Dimes not playing his best ball. Most confident NFL game for me, ATS, this week. -
Again it's not "uncatchable", when you can't outstretch your arms or jump. https://x.com/SharpFootball/status/1703978648154390982?s=20 Ball didn't land 5 yards OOB, because it was overthrown. You can see the ball just go over Donovans hands, while being restricted...thats a penalty
-
Yeah People's Jones couldn't make a play (jump/outstretch his arms) because he was being held and restricted. It's the rules, holding at least as I said. If you think that hit was dirty, go watch football at any level this week. Guessing you'll be calling alot of players "dirty". It's unfortunate/bad timing, but it's going low on a bigger player.
-
Not sure it's a dirty hit. You tackle low/legs of stronger players. It was an unfortunate component of football....injuries happen. Minkah launched himself as Nick was being wrapped up. Either way, hopefully Nick recovers/not as bad as it looked.
-
Poor call at the end, clear def holding/DPI. But it was likely not seen by the official. Bottom line, Watson and Browns choked away a very winnable game. Similar to our loss last week. Praying for best for Nick, that's a tough injury. Minkah too, his chest injury might be serious. Both teams have offensive issues to sort out, for different reasons. It looks like two 9-8 quality teams.
-
Well these are the clutch Watson moments, historically
-
Peoples Jones costing serious field position all night. Another poor decision. Hard hitting but sloppy game
-
Tomlin from the school of bad challenges
-
Both teams look hopeless on offense. But I'd say Browns pull this out still. Better oline, QB, and overall defense.
-
Wow, that brings new meaning to fumblerewski
-
Some head scratching playcalls by Stefanski. Watsons elusiveness still there. Browns imposing their will in the run game, expect some playaction shots maybe next drive. Sorry my bias against Steelers is obvious
-
Maybe worse
-
Not to mention Steelers best DT is out. Both teams likely going to start run, run, pass
-
Pickett's first two games have been outright bad.
