  1. I expect a heavy dose of Najee and Warren. Don't want to get into 3rd and long against Myles and that Browns secondary.
  2. Heyward being out is HUGE. Browns should be running the ball until Steelers can stop it Good call. That replay showed the TE made the right read, definitely on Watson
  3. And just like that...Watson throws a pick 6. Not his fault, but wow
  4. I didn't see a thread... Steelers- coming off a horrible offensive performance. Home crowd will be impatient, historically have had great success at home against Browns. They sustained key week 1 injuries to Heyward and Diontae Browns- week 1 showed off a great CB duo and strong dline. Schwartz leads a very good defensive unit, after a Saturday practice injury (Cooper groin), he is active. Can Watson avoid the Steeler tough front 4? Browns -2.5 spread. I think they cover, if Watson avoids turning it over. Chubb and the run game will be too much. Dawand Jones gets a tough matchup against Watt/Highsmith
  5. Coach labeled both as " day to day", during today's presser. Nothing groundbreaking, typical McD speak. Floyd looked very ginger walking off yesterday (I sit near the tunnel). But that could mean nothing. Hopefully both get in the hyperbaric, and quick recovery. Wouldn't surprise me to see them miss some practice time/rehab. Washington is a solid opponent, but the Miami game is alot more important. I'm curious if Rapp or Lewis would fill in for Micah. Rapp is more Poyer-type
  6. The replay/official that buzzes officials to stop play is on thr Bills sideline, light blue attire. He buzzed to the official, and from my seat I could see him pointing to his head. So yes, Ind Neuro buzzed down for Adams to be evaluated after that hit.
  7. Yes. Same parking is open, but traffic was worse in general getting to the lot. Even for a home opener, heavier traffic. The main thing is the walk to the stadium. Because of construction, you can no longer walk the "grass"/straight path. You have to walk right through lot 3, then back to the left...adds a decent amount of extra walking.
  8. JMO, Josh is letting mistakes compound during games. Said it earlier this week, but he starts pressing too much after his 1st turnover (sometimes) and what happened against the Jets. So I agree with those saying it's more mental. QBs need to live with the motto "onto the next play", good or bad. I have full faith that he rebounds, we can see that tomorrow. I've also said that Dorsey is a "small part" of the problem. We need to get better balance, run game/variation in formations (ie: under center). Small adjustments were what separated Daboll, at times. He wasn't perfect either, but did have a knack for mixing in the Josh designed runs/trick plays/etc., that I've yet to see Dorsey adjust with. Josh needs to be getting the ball out quicker/on-time. I think he's questioning coverages/ability to hit a bigger play (more often). Finding his groove again can happen at any point (tomorrow, week after), but sooner the better, more for the mental aspect and not letting confidence wane.
  9. I don't know about that. Minny oline still a bit of a mess, Philly just needs to pound the rock. I think Philly pulls away in 2nd half.
  10. Weather underground, not sure how reliable, is showing cloudy until about 5pm. If that's accurate, will take a day of not getting wet/sunburned
  11. It's an interesting thought. And totally agree on last point...even with Cook, we had a few "so close" moments of HUGE plays. Those should come. I think LY, and years past, would mix in some rush power sweeps/designed runs. Those are difficult to defend in general, but definitely helps get those safeties to creep up/adjust Cover 2 shell. I don't think Coach was going to be a "hypocrite" week 1, after preaching Josh protecting himself. BUT, they shouldn't be taking those plays completely away, 1-2 per game changes the perspective of the defense (just like the defense started to adjust to our smash concepts).
  12. Not ready to put anything on any WR, until we see Josh improve his decision making & play other defenses. Jets were practically giving 5 yard passes all game, Josh started to go away from taking those. Not taking any honus off Gabe or others, just not the right time. It's basically the same as trying to put too much praise on the secondary, yet. Very hopeful, but we need to see a quality passing attack.
  13. It's cool man. I think there are truths in both views, just see alot of mental errors/forces by Josh after watching all-22. I'd suggest go watch the Cover1 breakdown, that @Lostposted in the Joe Marino thread. After watching that, come back and tell me if you still put as much blame on Dorsey (or same Dorsey as LY).
  14. We didn't take 5-7 drops from the gun, that often this game. Josh just held the ball. I'm not trying to be rude, but in your own thread you said we didn't even run "12 personell" enough. Where we ran it the most of any NFL team week 1. Not saying I'm right/you're wrong on all of this, I think you have good points. But the point remains that Josh had quick reads/guys open short.
  15. Right, yeah I understand. I'm just saying I think they were the primary read (short passing) most of the night. The Jets were sitting in a cover 2 and left some open holes and Josh for whatever reason just didn't see them fast enough/a bit hesitant. But yeah, hopefully Dorsey adjusts too. Because if his QB is struggling, maybe they need to consider different route combinations/formations. It will be interesting to see what Dallas does against that defense. I expect they'll stay under center alot more and pound the ball/playaction, which is more their style. Perhaps food for thought for Dorsey, next go around.
  16. Yes exactly. Greenbrier resort and practicing at SPC. Very nice place to stay, 5-star hotel/resort. So yes, all the people ripping on WV, it's actually a very nice destination. Similar to Nemacolin, for any SWPA folks.
  17. You're exactly right, that we don't know what Josh was reading exactly/what he's being told. However, a very similar situation happened against the Jets LY....Sauce sitting in cover 2 dropped off the flat route and picked off the corner route. Just something to consider, perhaps why Josh held an extra second and ball placement wasn't as expected. Hindsight is 20/20, but we are sitting 3rd and short, with a clear cover 2 shell defense. This is where as an offense, we have to be able to convert on the ground more often.
  18. He and Dion both looked the part, played well. I wouldn't say any of our OL were great, or liabilities either. But Torrence and Dion most consistent good play. Then Morse and McGovern. Spencer gave up more pressures than I would have liked to see, getting mostly bull rushed/needed to anchor better.
  19. I don't know man. We talked about this in your thread as well. After watching the all-22 (torture in a loss, yes), Dorsey did have alot of short options dialed up that were open for 4-5 yards. We just didn't execute very well/consistent enough. Jets sat in a cover 2 shell for a large majority of plays. Again, if anything Dorsey could have changed was going more under center/working more of a ground attack. We had to be willing to take those 4-5 yard plays and let them stack. Jets started to take more chances with 5 man rushes when that happened, and that's when we needed to hit some bigger plays/RAC and that didn't happen either. I'm not saying Dorsey is perfect either. He can improve on sequencing these looks/plays IMO too. Jets LBs barely moved off their spot/drop, and that's a killer when the front 4 can get a push. We needed to find a way to move them, ie: running threat/playaction, motion, stack/bunch formations. Formationally, I think Dorsey will have to evaluate what gives Josh most comfort/see the field. So that's where I agree with you, but I'm thinking the concept/design was still focused on shorter patterns. Jets covered some well and Josh missed some easy ones.
  20. As aome suggesting that Dorsey go "conservative"/revert to rookie QB offense, I think that is the absolute worst thing to do right now. We don't need to go into a shell or make Josh into a game manager. He just needs to get into a better groove/confidence, but in our style of offense. Perhaps he and other offensive leaders sit with Dorsey, determine what works best/they're most comfortable to attack Cover 2 shell defenses and other schemes. You'd assume that already occurred, but sometimes it's not until the live bullets are flying again that you fully understand what he's "seeing" and "not seeing" in those tight windows. Ask Joe Burrow, it's not just this year that he lost them a week 1 game (same in 2022 vs Steelers, 4 INTs). Its not an excuse, but shouldnt be overreacting to the point of making big changes. All these things are fixable, and they have a lot of smart minds in that QB room...they'll get it figured out this week.
  21. I don't agree with those blaming Gabe on his route. First thing to remember, Josh faced a similar situation LY. Going off memory, early 2nd half at their own 30ish, Josh forces the smash concept (corner route) into a cover 2 zone. Guess who made the INT? That would have been Sauce, dropping and playing the deeper route (which is taught if you read #2s vertical breaking into a deep out/corner). Fast forward to a VERY similar route concept in this game. Josh stares it down and absolutely makes sure Sauce isn't dropping. This results in a late throw/poor mechanics, which puts the ball placement inside when that pass should be on the sideline. Did Gabe round his route? Sure/somewhat. The safety is also sitting on a fairly heavy inside technique, Gabe still gets to his spot. It's a poor decision to throw into a tight window and Josh either should have delivered it underneath to Kincaid OR immediately got his eyes on the next progression (Diggs crosser)
  22. As much as we all wanted the W last night, if this is a "turning point"/learning moment that gets Josh to a consistent top-level, then it's worth it. Very likely he's got a TON of negative feedback today/dissected the film. Mental toughness is a job prerequisite, he needs to look in the mirror and remind himself that he's capable of doing so much better (sure that's what he's hearing from coaches/players/family too). In terms of the next month, Raiders/Commanders/Dolphins/Jags, that's not Jets caliber defenses - but good in their own right. I think they are all very capable of generating pressure with their front 4, BUT predicting he rebounds strongly, 9 TDs and 2 INTs. Keep our oline healthy, and think they will gel more/more. Don't let Maxx wreck the game plan this week, if he's lined up over Spencer - better have a TE/RB chip
  23. This is what I saw on the all-22. Diggs motions across the formation. Knox is now "inside" of Diggs and they run a double slant concept. Knox clears and gets the LB to freeze, but the window was SUPER tight. Reid anticipated that too, great read by him. I thought backside, the dump off/swing to Cook could have been a 1st down throw (Mosely would have had to make a great play to get there). It was a trend all night with Josh struggling on the LB reads/lanes, he was just too hesistant. He made a great throw to Stef down the seam on 1, but he mostly didn't see it well.
