It’s not that they lose. It’s how they lose. A blow out loss hurts much less, than games we have a real chance to win. Any time a coach costs you a real chance to win it’s a major let down. How many times do we have to see it. Smh.
Respectively I have to disagree. Should have declined the penalty. 4th and 7 it would have been. Give them the fg. In a high scoring game like that Josh probably would have back doored them. With that being said mcveigh might have went for it anyway. But it may have compelled him to kick it. Who knows.
And that’s the problem. At some point Josh is going to lose faith in McDermott. If this happens it’s over. I feel bad for him. To watch him apologizing for his play during the press conference was infuriating to say the least.
His clock management at the end of the game costed us the opportunity to at least have a better chance of winning. 7 percent chance of onside recovery or 15 percent chance our defense stops them. Should have played the odds. I’m not saying the d would have stopped them. But McDermott is the head coach and highly vaulted as a defensive guru. The buck starts and stops with him. No scapegoat needed.
And how exactly does this happen when Josh has been at his very best time and time again and it’s still not enough to overcome McDermotts boneheaded decisions in high pressure situations.
Problem is McDermott just demonstrated he does not learn. Disturbing to see say the least. Very poor judgement when stressed. That use of a time out and qb sneak was the nail in the coffin. Almost as bad as fake punts at your 30 with damar Hamlin.
No my view has not changed. Let’s use a time out and a qb keeper. So we have to do an onside kick. The stupidity is next level. Panicky McDermott strikes again. Waiting for it to come out again in playoffs.
This is yet to be determined. 4 afc championships in a row and 4 Super Bowl appearances has blown away anything this regime has done. With that being said one Super Bowl win outshines everything. Will they do it? That remains to be seen. But I will admit they have far surpassed my expectations this season.
