Did Beane Fail Josh and the fan base?
<bills4life> replied to Returntoglory's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’m not saying you are wrong with some of your points, however the gm is responsible for who he brings in. Whether it’s over paid aging veterans susceptible to injury. Players who make poor choices and susceptible to suspension. The gm and coach also lay out a vision for the teams style of play philosophically. Maybe playing nickel all season with undersized linebackers contributes to the defense being decimated by injury. Thus prohibiting us from making deep playoff runs. There are many factors, but at some point the free ride of accountability needs to end. We have won nothing during their tenure. Not to mention there might not be any money due to the gm paying out stupid contracts. -
Week 5 - Bills at Texans Game Week Thread

And he very well may. I hope he does. And I have nothing against him as a player. But the “good god get a grip on yourself” reeks of emotional fragility. The drama is embarrassing. -

When someone uses Coleman as a measure of offensive production as “Coleman already has 126 yards”, no offense that’s only 31 yds a game. It’s not an indictment of him has a player. It’s my way of saying that using him as an example is poor, as if somehow he has exceeded expectations. He is not a bad player, and he will continue to improve. But let’s not get crazy here, and act like he is setting the league on fire or exceeding his draft slot. -
You make a good point. I don’t see it either. However it would be so billsy to happen to us. This franchise has a dark cloud.
-
Ya think? Don’t say that too loudly. Those on the good ship Lolly pop won’t take kindly to that.
-
Certainly could happen. Everyone just assumes he will resign. However Josh is a man of the world right now. Hollywood girlfriend, lives in California, golf enthusiast etc.. when his contract comes up he will be a man in high demand for virtually anything he wants. I’m not saying he won’t resign, but it is certainly a possibility.

Yeah that 31 yds a game is mesmerizing. -
Predicted 9-8 and I’m sticking to it.

Or you could have taken two back to back in a heavy wr draft?

I don’t disagree. However come playoff time no matter how many great players you have, if you are out coached and out schemed, it’s enough to get you booted.
-
Losses are part of the game. Sometimes it’s how you lose that really matters. 13 seconds being one of them.
-
Exactly the moment for me as well.
-
You pretty much nailed it . Coaching + philosophy =early playoff exits. Good enough to get you there against weaker opponents. Not good enough to sustain when it really matters.

9/29/2024 Bills @ Ravens post game thread
<bills4life> replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
God I’ve learned to hate this term. It’s synonymous to prevent defense. Neither have good outcomes. Play with what works and keep the pedal to the metal. It’s not rocket science. -
Can’t disagree with you.

You are only as strong as your weakest link. Damar Hamlin sucks and has no business starting, let alone being on the roster. Yes I’m glad he survived, however in some weird reality it’s almost like that incident gave him a guaranteed position on the team regardless of his play. If that incident never happened the guy would have been cut the following season.

It was also the moment that any fight the bills had left in them was lost. Also punting on 4th and 2 stuck by a lot was chicken sh**.

It’s ridiculous. I hope we don’t need him for a game during the playoffs if we make it. -

Trubisky is not the answer. Bills need to upgrade qb2. Josh out for a couple of games and we r screwed. -

I know right. Get out of Baltimore injury free and on to Houston. Short memory and move on. -

I’m so glad we punted on 4th and two. Because the defense really gave me confidence the first two drives to stop them on the 3rd. Ridiculous
