  1. One good thing about Beane and McDermott, is that I trust their ability to assess a player's character. I'm no longer worried that we willl overpay for a player based on their contract year play, when in reality they aren't motivated and will regress. I expect they are completely sold on Phillips, will give him 10M per year, and he will continue to be great. I expect they will give Lawson an offer of ~5M per year and be outbid.
  2. I don't understand the premise of this thread. If you want to evaluate Brady's success against teams already establishing themselves as good through the course of the season, then you should obviously include the playoffs. With those, Brady probably has the most success of any NFL QB ever. If (and probably when) Brady fails to deliver against the Bills tomorrow, it will be due to the talent of the Bills pass defense, and to some extent Brady's own decline. He will not fail because he is unprepared or inexperienced going against good teams...
  3. In case any of you thought we were now being respected by the media, or that we should celebrate Tre's (well deserved) appearance as being enough, here you go. I throw together a quick graphic of win percentage vs pro bowl appearances by team. Guess who's the clear outlier in terms of under representation...
  4. There are lots, so we should be able to pick up someone pretty solid at the 32nd pick.
  5. It feels like he shouldn't be running designed runs period. The most effective scheme for him seems to be 5 receivers, with the RB peeling out downfield if it's not a pass play. Josh should be scrambling in place of a checkdown, as it seems to be a lot more effective so far. I hope the analytics department is tracking average yards on these plays to be sure, because as a casual viewer there seems to be a pretty big gap.
  6. 615% completion percentage is pretty damn good. Possibly unprecedented.
  7. I won't lie and say that I saw a lot of Cowboys games, but I maybe say 5-10 while he was there. Every damn time it was 3rd and long, and the other players all failed, they would pass to him, and almost never before. And on those third and longs he usually brought it in. He was absolutely ignored there. Even in the Bills offense, I think he has the capability to do a lot more. His work put in today could be his production every game.
  8. The majority of us love him, and did so quickly after the draft, and even before his first preseason game. He is clearly athletic, smart, centered, and motivated to succeed. The talk about stats ignored the most important one which is W-L in the lineup vs out of the lineup. Even as a rough prospect at Wyoming he was a winner. Even his interceptions were mainly taking risks correctly when his team was losing. The disappointed are always the most vocal. I wouldn't worry about it.
  9. When Cole Beasley signed for the Bills, one of the things we loved was that he was very outspoken. He said that he felt appreciated at the Bills and felt underappreciated before at the Cowboys. He said that the Bills had a better culture and atmosphere. I'm sure a lot of you remember, but his social media was overrun by angry cowboy fans saying he made a huge mistake, and was a trash player never worthy of the cowboy uniforms. They said he would regret his decision to move. Well I think he showed them. 6 catches for 110 yard and 1 TD today. The best WR performance on the field, and he outplayed every player on the Cowboys. Let's hear it for Cole. We're glad to have you.
  10. Step 1. Beane and McDermott get a young guy with a huge leg, and trust him to improve his skills. Step 2. We all complain that he's not a consistent and not an amazing punter off the bat. Step 3. He comes good, and we retract all our statements. It's almost like we should trust them to lead us in the right direction (although obviously hard to do given past administrations).
  11. As bad as Hauschka has been, they should and will stick with him for this season
  12. How much money did Dak lose tonight? He bet on himself vs resigning a new contract before the season. It looked like a great bet before tonight, but throwing an INT to Star really isn't a shining moment...
  13. One thing people here have debated is Josh Allen's 'it' factor. Last season he seemed to step it up in big moments, but people still questioned whether he could be a winner in the really big games and in the playoffs. From my perspective he's done everything possible to answer those questions this year. First in fourth quarter comebacks in the NFL, first in third and long completions in the NFL, and in his first game on the national stage (he missed MNF v pats last year), he absolutely outplayed a solid and desperate cowboys team. I can't wait to see what he's got in the playoffs, and in that first playoff game I expect him to step up and show us the best QB play we've seen since Kelly.
  14. I haven't seen it mentioned here, but Singletary is number one in YPC this season among all running backs in the NFL (https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/player-stat/rushing-yards-per-attempt). Nearly 6 yards per carry is crazy. All he has to do is keep up current production.
  15. KPIs are examples of metrics. Even wins are an example of a metric...
  16. Now imagine if a Dolphins fan had caught it. The memes would never end...
  17. Considering he's had zero so far, I wouldn't expect more than one....
  18. I was expecting to see Eric Dungey on there, but looks like he's on the Browns practice squad as of this week
  19. Considering how bad the dolphins have been, he will probably get a shot at another team next year (at least as a backup). He's played as well as Fitzpatrick with the dolphins, which is a good sign. Personally I don't think he's a starter in the league, but I think he's done as well as a second choice could given his poor teams.
  20. If the biggest 20/20 hindsight criticism in the draft is that we got Ford instead of Metcalf, then I'd say we've done pretty damn well.
  21. We should think about replacing login captchas with a USB breathalyzer .
  22. So 3.4 of the 4 red hot picks so far have paid off? Clearly a good enough sample size that we should go ahead and forfeit.
